I rolled throt as my last char on cf. I have been thinking about playing this character and combo for months and I finally decided it was time to end my cf career and throt was born.
It was great fun at first, I had a lot of good fights and with my combo as long as I wasn't str dropped I really never lost one v one. Then I got booted for what I will still call to this day ####. Yeah perhaps I deserved some form of reprimand but getting booted... Well I don't share playtimes with village imms, at all really it seems and I play a lot. After taking it up the ass for 35 hours at hero because I wouldn't play the bitch (like almost all villagers do without the head or against odds) I finally had enough of waiting and decided to give the prep route a try.
Preping takes to much time. If I had fought less it would have been viable but I blew threw preps like nothing because I was always fighting and always fighting solo.
Throt stopped being fun to play about 50 hours ago but I was too damn stubborn to admit defeat and delete. PLus I had been holding out in hopes of getting tated.
for those of you wondering what happened that got me booted from the village this is the note Kaisse wrote about it and its accurate enough.
< 12> Wed Feb 15 17:50:03 2006 From : Kaisse Tait To : Battle Throt Subject: Throt's disgrace.
To those who think the Testing of a villager ends with induction should hear the story of Throt's failure.
The facts stand that he showed little respect to me as commander. Perhaps more my failing than his, but as its been proven that this is no longer a concern. The Plaque states that those you face as a Defender or Scout must be Foes. This is either a mage of the lands, a member of the magic hoarding Scions or a member of our current foe, the Empire. Throt chose to lash out at the Fortress for raiding along side one of our own raids. These were niether unresonable nor aggressive people. They simply sought the opportunity to fight the Empire and avoid the risk of it gaining strength. They did nothing to imply cowardice but what Throt yelled upon them before striking the one who held the codex. Any who break the Plaque in this way, will suffer the same Fate.
Given due reason, I can understand those who might fight the Fortress. But given little, and seeing as a short talk led to Brokk giving me the codex, there was no reason for this bloodshed. Take note, my stout lads. Because it is from his mistakes you will learn.
Kaisse Tait, Commander of Battle.
ohh wel on to goodbyes
kastellyn: thanks for eventually sending me the e-mail
aarn: I don't know what I didn't do to earn your tattoo. I personally think I played a fairly good rage/dedication character and I was persistant as hell in prays in the early years. Then i lost my hut and the only redeeming quality is that perhaps I would be able to show dedication by not deleting and staying the course. But all i got was a pat on the back, a very apreciated pat but I was looking for something more. I would really like to know what I was missing. After being the first mortal to ever get your tat I was very surprised not to get it this time after putting in about 20 times more work.
ysal: You were the only female character in game throt did not refer to as a wench. You were the only one who proved to be more then that. We had some good times and I don't know how to keep up with all those esays and emotes but its cool, keep it up.
kragathian: You have come a long way man and I am still cheering for you. I have never seen a player improve so much over the course of a single character. I look forward to seeing what you roll out with next.
Kaisse: Like I said I interacted with you as 3 villagers and both of the other experiences were great. This one blew. From our first interaction I was given the impression you didn't like throt. From openly mocking his role and name to constantly trying to tell him how to do things we just did not click.
grunlath/gharaka: You guys gave me some good fights.
necroe: You were the only offense air shifter to figure out that you needed abs to out damage me and then you made my life miserable. Having low low con and doing everything solo ment I was half dead in the open a lot and you made it very tough for a while props for that.
Gredarth: You are the only player I never felt I got the upper hand on. Damn you for never not having abs up grr, I hope you enjoyed the charges I gave ya wish I could have had a crack at you with village powers.
anyone else feel free to post and I will respond.

Why, hypothetically, would the Battle imms re-induct you when you couldn't realize that you made a mistake and violated the plaque?*
Sure, you were stubborn. Sure, you thought you were God's gift to Battle. These things came across constantly. But why would you want that guy in your cabal when he doesn't understand that he ####ed up? He's just going to #### up again.
*I am not, nor have I ever been a Battle imm.

If you wanted to be that strict about the plaque then the commander would have had to boot himself during the same raid for attacking zliffen, an imperial assassin .
Obviously there is letter of the law and spirit. We all interpert these things a little different and Throt the character and me the player are both spirit oriented.

Unless I'm completely missing something else you are refering to. Wasting an Imperial Assassin is not a foul by any measure of the word.

The key, as per the plaque, is who gets to pick whether it is or not. (Hint: Kaisse at the time would be one of those individuals.)

If your going to be nitpicky and by the letter then Kaisse never declared war on the empire he merely continued it. Yeah thats being real nitpicky and basing it off of a single word in the plaque but there you go.
Reguardless of how you want to read the words and whatnot can you honestly tell me kaisse never even once attacked a non mage, non scion, non imperial? If he ever even once that would make him a hypocrit wouldn't it... because he made this decision after a one time event. Perhaps asking a leader to follow the standard he sets for his cabal is a bit much but you know what its possible to do.
And I am tired of this argument Kaisse was a good character I just feel he made a bad decision. A bad decision that ruined hundreds of hours of my life. Obviously I am not going to be happy about it so whatever as far as I am concerned this whole argument can be summed up with we have different views of what makes a good villager and at the time he had the power of leadership.
To put this into perspective I feel as though I was being accused of regularily attacking non mages which obviously I was not if you look at my pk record. In fact that may have been the first time I attacked a non mage that wasn't with mages or coming after me in the first place. My argument again isn't that I did absolutly no wrong, just that te punishment did not fit the crime.

No, he wouldn't. You should read it more closely.
As an aside, Kaisse was Orderly Neutral and, in my opinion, did an excellent job of playing his alignment. I usually can't tell what the hell someone's ethos is if they aren't in a cabal that forces the choice (and sometimes even if they are) -- in his case, it came across well. A character like that, yes, is damn well going to care about the letter. (Possibly the spirit too, but I'm not sure how you think you'd have that either, at least with respect to the plaque.)

Sorry man, my tattoo does nice things, and isn't easy to get. Certainly harder to get then the first time I ever handed it out when it did nothing. Most characters aren't going to earn it until late in life. Either way though, you're ot going to earn a tattoo for dedication by going against everything you were sworn to, i.e. using magic.

I think you did something in keeping with how your character was. I think Kaisse did something in keeping with what his character was. If you acted in a way that you think was right, and I'm not entirely inclined to disagree with you, and Kaisse acted in a way in which he thinks he was right, and I don't really disagree with him either, he's going to have the last word, because he's Commander. To me, it's really a case where neither party is completely wrong.
One of the problems with habitually playing Battle is that players often look down on other players, thinking to themselves, 'Hey, I know the plaque backwards and forwards, I've had 10 villagers, I know how things should be'. Often they let this dictate their actions, and it can show at times.

I never said I didn't like you. I think you've just gotten into a rut where you play Battle and you act like you know everything about how Battle should be. I think you'd benefit from trying something different again where you feel less like you have all the answers.
Pre-incident Throt wasn't bad. That whole Arial City deal was pretty slick.
