Hand specs are a nightmare to tank so make the playing field even. If your on max weight and so not dodging. Remove his parry by crushingassault. Your gonna get hit regardless of the assault because he is a h2h spec so atleast remove his parry. After the rescue, whomp in the assault, then bash. He parried most of your attacks, not dodged them. Just my thoughts but it might have helped.

In nepenthesk style I will be vague in saying that within one of those two bits of text is the reason you lost the fight. Orcs have some utility that only one other class in the game shares and you did not exploit it. That is of course unless something has changed since the last time I played an orc.

I think our little bad blood was very fun to role play out. My only concern is that it was blatantly obvious that you were breaking role on a number of ocasions. I know it can someimtes be difficult to supress your ideas as a player but bear in mind thats one of the challenges of role playing. I could be wrong and if i am I sincerely apologize but was it really your role to harass and attack people who did not capitilize the first letter of every sentence? That combined with frequent statements along the lines of "your an idiot in this realm and the other" did a lot to weaken our interactions.
Aside from that little bit of criticism I think you played an amazingly orcy orc. Tough love on fighting the warrior but keep in mind orcs are not warriors. Bashing a bard or lowbie mage is one thing but you have to be careful about those warriors, one good round of combat can do you in if you don't have any damage reduction. Some thing for you to try next time would be a little bit of preping. Gathering preps might be a little hard for an orc especially one of your own level but there are preps out there designed specifically for orcs. I would suggest poking around the village a bit more especially looking for vendors where you might not expect them neccesarily.

I didn't attack people who didn't capitalize the first letter or use Punctuation.
It does bother me, as I see it as a sign that you do not care about the other players. My own peronal bias, I know.
It helps with understanding and really fleshes out a character, reguardless of any accent, (Actually especially if you have an accent)if you do that.
It also makes you seem inexperienced and thus unattractive as a partner.
It lets us know when a new scentence starts, your mood, personal pronouns etc.
That combined with my beef about "you know what" really causes me not to like you.
I will make every effort to avoid interacting with your character in the future so we do not have a recurance of this. I think that's fair enough.
You're being allowed to keep the name so I'll live with it. In order to keep my own sanity I have actually substituted your name on my browser. If you think back to the derogitory noun I called you you should figure it out. =)
See you in the fields. (From afar)

Someone who has a name such as that who also does just about every little RP thing that people complain about (no caps, no punctuation, etc), I would have an immediate OOC slant on them considering them a jerk (to use a forum-friendly word). Typically would either have a negative IC reaction to them, stemming from a negative OOC reaction to them and if my role did not permit that, likely I would avoid them at all costs as well. Someone like this I would not induct to a cabal or rank with either.
Maybe I'm anal retentive, or maybe my pre-conceived OOC thoughts about what type of person would purposefully toe the line as much as possible bias me, but either way I can't see having a pleasant experience RP'ing with someone who is quite obviously doing their best to troll.

I think you are doing something absolute wrong, what I have no idea. Let me tell you this, I have played a warrior and been schooled by an orc who knew what he or her was doing! Orcs require optimizing like the one poster said but when you have the right gear for taking advantage of enemies' vulnerabilities. Also Orcs I fought did not give a rats arse about bashing but broke my back and did other nasty disabilitating things.
Overly bash focusing an Orc may be a bad idea, why not look for other options?

So many in fact I forget their names.
It is such a chore to kill with them, I've given up.
I was not high enough to spinebreak, and the gist of my post was how often he hit eme and how inspite of switching weapons on him several times (You see here only two of 4 or 5 fights) I was unable to hit a Dwarf Hand Spec.
Could I have done other things? Sure, but look at how fast he went throug me when he redirected. Any skill I used would likely have led to similar result.
Orcs hurt on most of their skills.
What's more, I can honestly say, no Orc has ever killed any warrior I;ve ever had, and I've waded into groups of three.
I did Lose an Assassin to a group of three after I killed two, and fled one only to have it rally and get the last hit on me at convulsing.
For me Orc= RP with some PK.

That this fight should be decidedly in your favor. You refuse to use non-exsanguinate skins, despite their uberness in comparison to the skins you can make. On another note, you should be outdamaging a hand spec at these ranks, as they have low hit/dam (no weapons) and crappy avg on hands. The fact that he's doing roughly the same amount of damage to you as you to him in these fights is a factor. The fact that you don't crushing assault immediately (which will both help alleviate the first point, and wreck his defenses) shows that you don't understand the orc skills which are most powerful. The fact that you allow him to redirect shows poor tactic decisions. This isn't meant to be a bashfest of you, but what *I* feel is most illustrated by these logs is that you A) Think orcs are something they are not, B) Fight like they have strengths they do not, and C) Have a poor understanding of the tactics that make an orc successful.
In this same situation (especially with the mino charmie) my fight would have gone something like: dirt handspec, fallback, crushingassault, flee/heal with blood as neccessary, and finish with bash. Assuming I didn't get the first strike, I would have crushing assaulted, fled, healed, rinse repeat until he was hurt enough that I could be sure I will kill him before he kills me.
Crushing assault is like soften on your oponent, reduces hit/dam on them, reduces dex, wrecks parry, and all you lose is a round of not parrying (which you aren't doing v a handspec anyway). Crushing assault is overpowered I tell you. Way overpowered!

It was about how often I was hit.
I had fought this guy 4 times, and used up most of my blood. If you look, you see me using a skin.
What's more, he wasn't the only person I had fought.
I had used about 2o skins worth of blood fighting Paladins and what not.
My Hit roll was 18 my damage roll was 39 or so.
I know all about crushing assault, I know when to use it, I had to go get the Minotaur precicley because this guy wrecked me in the first round every time I attacked him. Crushing assault was not the skill to use with this guy. Murder/rescue/bash was the plan here. I missed his redirect and lagged my self out. That is what killed me.
Your plan that you out line would not work. He forced wimpy on me in the first round of combat in some cases, being lagged two by dirt and risking a failed fallback would = death.
I appreciate you attempt to help, but you are not in possession of all of the facts.
That being, My preps just fell, I couldn't parry his attacks, I couldn't hardly hit him, and I had used up almost all my skins in the 5 or 6 PK's I had prior to this fight.
So getting back to the point of the question... Which was more or less answered.
Why couldn't I hit an Unarmed Dwarf with any weapon I used, and Why couldn't I parry him? I didn't ask why I lost.

Handspecs are hard to parry, and ironhands isn't useless. That said, I still think you are wrong. 20 skins is, by my reckoning (non-exsanguinate skins) about 10,000hp. If you can't beat down your entire range with 10k hp on demand, you're doing something wrong. So what if he forces wimpy in the first round... flee.... heal... murder. There isn't a class out there that shouldn't run out of hp before an orc who can flee. This reminds me to make an orc with forceduel just to prove my point. (That is a joke)
You continually post about how orcs suck (to some extent they do) and I was pointing out that from everything you've ever said, and every log I've ever seen of you playing an orc, you don't know what you are doing. That's put as bluntly as I can get it so you understand.
If you had 39 damroll, you wouldn't be doing eviscerates btw, unless you weapon % sucked badly, or the weapons were WAY beyond your level. Either way this is a very winnable fight.

You probably still have a thing or two to learn about playing orcs.
People debate whether or not orcs are good at high levels, but I've rarely if ever seen a player who understood their strengths and weaknesses complain about them at low-mid levels. I've also seen higher-end players take an orc and, in those levels, run a more successful ratio than they did playing a warrior.
You don't know everything about orcs. You also obviously aren't a total orc newbie. The truth is somewhere in between.

I am willing to bet that about a dozen of those orcs your talking about are the same exact person. The same person who has put up disgusting ratios with high level orcs has had half a dozen chieftans and just does it over and over again. Most players have a hard time with orcs because they have not discovered the bugs and use as many preps or pick their battles as tediously as this single player. Hence why that player happens to be very badass with damn near anything but orcs just happen to perfectly suit his style of killing. Hide prep bash.

I typically play the cowardly orc.
I run and hide at the first sign that a fights going bad. I'm good with that.
What just bothers me to no e nd is the amount of pain they feel. It's very hard to feel satisfied when playing an Orc.
Vulns, Hard to stay commited in fights that often leave you near death, everyone likes to kill you, own skills kil you, etc.
At any rate, I was only curious about how bad that guy tooled me reguardless of my weapon choice.
Please give Orcs Shields, enuff of their skills require you to forgoe using them that I think that is a fair trade off.

You should not attack open discussion and PK tips about the log, just because you think you don't need advice. Allow people the fun of berating what happened in the log, comment on the tactics and such things. Logs aren't just a question: Tell me this. Critisism on your tactics and pondering why you lost your fight is part of the fun of reading logs. Don't try to deny others that. My own observation was that you were doing ####ty damage and the other guy outdamaged you, which is why I thought that you had no business fighting him dressed like that.

>Half your skills damage you, you dodge like a barn (Per Neppy) >if you prep for bash
It's not like bash sucks if you're not trucking around max weight.
Think of bash with a reasonable carried weight as the standard, and bash at max weight being an option you have if you're willing to trade a lot of dodging for a little more bash effectiveness. 90% of the time, it is not a good trade, but it's an option you have when you need it.

If anything Bash works too good for my liking.
In this case I threw one to many when I failed to realize he redirected.
I lost the fight on my own, I was just amazed how often he hit me.

Fair enough. I'm just trying to give you some constructive advice on why that may have been the case for next time.

In fact, I would have guessed it to be less law of diminishing returns as something that grew exponentially. Remind me that I can not carry max weight and still bash effectively with my next and I'll forever praise the unvague nepenthe.

1) I don't see a lot going on here that hit roll would matter for.
2) Near max weight? Great for bashing. You also dodge like a barn*, which explains why he has so much easier a time hitting you.
3) Many factors contribute to the success and failure of parry and dodge, some of which can not easily be assessed from this log alone.
4) As a general statement, a character who can outdamage/outtank you is not your ideal candidate for bashing in what was mostly a one on one fight.
*Note: Large inanimate objects do not generally dodge.

Especially if you yourself can't tell your left hand from your right.
(Edit: I mean the character and the difference between a pro boxer and someone unskilled in fisticuffs, not a dig at the player.)
