I wore many hats in this game, and tried to straddle the line between being feared and liked when I thought it would offer me the most advantages. In the end, I just kind of lost interest I suppose, since ultimately I just couldn't do more than harass people.
To start with, this character was created on a whim when I saw somebody mention what a powerful combination a thief could be with both cheap shot and acrobatics. I found this to be a very handy combination, but as I have found with my other thieves (except thug), when you give up the high-level thief skills, you give up alot of the interesting abilities of your class. Even though counterfeit and fence aren't all that great, I think I could have gotten a lot more use from them over cheap shot. The 4 or 5 people that I was able to cheap shot to death didn't have any gear that made it all worthwhile.
Also, I wanted to be insanely rich. When I first rolled up, I could easily gather 300-500k a day just by robbing shopkeepers and then gambling my money at the Inn. I really liked Gambling, and when I finally got banned from the Inn for bad behavior, it was a harsh blow to me. Additionally, once the changes went in to make shopkeepers bank their coins, my source of wealth dried up. I was not happy as a poor thief, so had to take up being a merchant to supplement my income. The commerce skills were kind of cool, and I think I was the first person to actually learn them all, but it seems like they stopped just short of being very useful (like they were unfinished).
Anyway, besides being an impulse character, I was also going to be a throwaway PK character. I was originally named Guar until my 20's, because I thought it would be funny to have people accidentally attack me when they were intending to attack guards. Or maybe I was going to be a tribunal and see if I could get people to attack my guards instead of me... anyway, my goals were rather weak. Once I put over 100 hours into this character, I realized it was kind of fun to knock everybody out and rob them blind, as I had happen to me numerous times with my other characters.
When my name finally bugged enough people to get it changed (and props to the Imm that talked to me about it, you were very cool), I had to start over with Guarzhin, and tried to change my role to reflect this. When I started out, I was very friendly with outlanders. Somehow, I ended up being allied with Empire, Ragers, Scion, and Tribunal at some point, while alienating everybody else. No matter who I would kill in each cabal, it seemed I could always switch sides at a whim, especially when I was always free to attack people from other guilds or especially victimize the Fortress at will.
Eventually after Calheil died off (probably my only legitimate in-game friend), I lost interest for a few months. I wanted to make a run for the Bandit Queen, but it took me atleast 40-50 days of planning before I knew what I wanted to say. Oh, and I made the mistake of letting a few people in Scion think I wanted to join that cabal. I really didn't, but I thought I could get more from the cabal if they thought I was on their side. Once I got chided/threatened by a certain Scion Imm for not immediately dropping everything and posting an application, I realized that I went too far and should take a break for awhile.
Once I got back from my long vacation, I got serious and started donating heavily to the Hamsah guild, and sent some very thoughtfully-composed messages to Qaledus saying that I was the right person to run the guild. Thanks, Qaledus, for granting me that chance. I think I did an ok job while I was around, but decided that since I didn't have the patience to hero (really, there's not much point in going past 40 at all with a thief), I should resign and let somebody else take over.
Anyway, there are too many people I interacted with for me to mention. If anybody has anything nice or nasty to say to me, I'd be happy to hear it.

It was me that posted about your name being a bad one because it made people attack guards. Now that I know it was intentional, I have not the slightest bit of guilt, and I hope the imms take notice of the fact that people do, indeed, take advantage of these things intentionally.
That said, you seemed a very decent char, if you overlook the ####ing crappy stupid name.

>>Curiosity though, how many commerce skills did you get?
I received 3 commerce skills....l inspect goods, prosperous reputation, and trade connections.
>>Figured it'd come down to you and Sulaysef in the end
I didn't think I had a chance since for several months I was soo far behind in donations. But Sulaysef and the other elites all kind of disappeared, leaving me to build my way up at my own leisurely pace. It was almost as if nobody in the Hamsah guild wanted to run the guild after you left.
Anyway, we've teamed up in previous incarnations (more than once I am betting). It is funny how you kind of attach yourself to somebody in-game because you have so much in common with them, and then you learn later that you have had relationships with their earlier characters. In our previous incarnations, when I was Karakan and you were Straklaw, I thought we had some fun adventures, even though it always seemed like you would die some horrible death near the end.
Anyway, hopefully we can team up again with future incarnations.
