This is a bit of a flame, bit of a rant, and an explanation to why I deleted the char. Before because of websense and the webpage being type game I couldnt post, but since websense isnt working at hte moment (found out because someone got busted for being on a porn site ) I can post. I said my goodby's to the ones necessary before. Gerylanst, Kastellyn and Ordasen, for giving me the chance knowing I would be permenantly semi-afk (because of where I am) etc. While I died to gangings, died to being afk, I had enjoyed it all. Even in death outperforming people, even groups is quite gratifying in many ways. Anyway. I remember carrionfields the way it used to be. Even when necromancers that had power word kill, a great many would never use it just because it could kill without ability to fight, taking much away from the fun of playing a game. Freightful fiend, conjured mobs that are aggro to people, assassinate. Skill-less pk made me leave the mud after about six years. I recently returned, orcs had changed, other classes had changed. new inherents etc. I had only been gone about 10 months. The latest one that irks me, is why dont we give every elf the ability to riposte with any weapon? Stackable with swords I might add. Though magi can do it (arcanes would be rather nice with it I might add) paladins, powerful on their own, with the two given most, enhanced parry and champions stand, and an unblockable riposte. As it were it took little skill to kill with a paladin, even against two and three (save against shamans, sometimes). This last addition with elves just made more skill-less kills for them. I should also have mentioned rot above. I have left carrionfields again. I admit I do miss it, it used to be my favorite mud, but I find more skill based pk in godwars muds as I find in many of the things here. It bothers me that much. Luth, the applicants I spoke with, i hope you enjoyed the interviews, especially the little part dealing with your ahh.. dedication This char was evil and I planned to make him seem that way . This is all I have to say. Goodby, dinner time , last char (at least for a long while), and last and only post.

Just so you know, I don't have a single virtue much less "the two given most". Despite berserker powers, you got taken to school by a straight-out-of-the-box paladin one on one. I even left nearly all of your gear.
I have fought a lot of people, including some other Ragers. None of them went down as bad as you did. Most didn't even die. All of them are better players than you.
You didn't die because I am overpowered, you died because you fought dumb. Throwing flurry with wrath swords at a paladin high enough level to have righteousness isn't anything but that. Carrionfields is a skill based game, you just don't have the skill.

You go to all that trouble to get someone inducted and then they delete.
You suck.
I will miss your notes about current applicant status. Those were very helpful.

Going by broad numbers, elves aren't chewing up and spitting out all opponents, even with Swiftstrike.
Stackable with swords I might add. Though magi can do it (arcanes would be rather nice with it I might add)
A quick reading of the helpfile would suggest otherwise. It's minimally useful to elven magi. Not coincidentally, elven magi were popular even without it, and the bulk of the benefit went to less-played combinations such as elven warriors.
You mentioned being here a long time ago. Did you see any elf paladins who weren't permacorpses? How many feared elf warriors were there then?
paladins, powerful on their own, with the two given most, enhanced parry and champions stand, and an unblockable riposte.
I don't think a single elf paladin currently in the game (let alone in the PK range of this character) has Champion's Stand. As for parrying, they're not as good as a defensive warrior, a ranger in the wilderness, etc. And Swiftstrike on its best day, under optimal circumstances, is a shadow of Riposte, even without accounting for the fact that elves aren't the hardest hitters.
As it were it took little skill to kill with a paladin, even against two and three (save against shamans, sometimes). This last addition with elves just made more skill-less kills for them.
Which paladin has been skill-less-ly piling up huge piles of corpses? Since Lariya auto-ed, I'm not sure I've seen any piling up wins. If anything, they seem like they're in the middle of the pack.
Level 40 duergar BattleRager warrior is pretty tough, but a paladin isn't your most favorable matchup. You'd need to be on top of your tactics, and flurrying said paladin with wrath swords isn't going to cut it. Why not go with your second spec, or even just dig up some iron non-spec weapons that the paladin won't know? There's no shortage of quality iron stuff.
And even if elf paladin is a tough matchup you this one specific character, you're much better equipped than an elf paladin to handle something like an arial assassin. Every character has strengths and weaknesses, and learning to accentuate appropriately is much of the game.
