#35495, "[DELETED] EMPIRE Vinson Wentzell the Protector of Faith, Imperial High Priest"

This, essentially roleless, character has been unfun for weeks and weeks. Anybody that talks to me knows I've been waiting to delete for a while. I've been telling others for a long time that as soon as I lost my set I was deleting, but people kept looting my stuff and giving it back to me, prolonging the agony. I started saying that after the Restraal auction and would have deleted when I lost the stoneform amulet, but I got every single item back except that because it rots on death. Anyways, long-story-short this has been a long time coming. Months ago I was saying that if I didnt get Emperor I was deleting and when I didn't get Emperor that's when it became 'As soon as this set is gone.'

No, I'm not Russian. I'm Wilhath/Quevea, the hopeless Empire devotee. But that, too, is no more because I've come to the point where the ENTIRE cabal situation seems agonizingly boring/retarded and broken. This whole mass logon/logoff thing makes me ill and that is why I'm through with cabals other than perhaps Tribunal. I might just become a full-time uncaballed/orc player. It really is stupid, people. I'd either log on and have 45 enemies and no Codex, relegating me to sitting in the Hillcrest guild to avoid the gankings or I'd log on and have 45 allies and no enemies and be so incredibly bored that I wanted to rem all;drop all;sac all just to be able to fill my time with regearing.

I'd watch certain individuals log on and then log off after MAYBE 5 minutes only to log back on again about a half hour later when half her enemies logged off and 3 allies logged on. I've seen another individual log on and off with another certain individual with such regularity that I can only assume it's the same player using two different windows. If it's not this sort of thing destroying the fun it's people like the Petulant Whiner going ooc on me after every death, mine or hers, and blaming all of her troubles on healing curse. *sigh* I wish I could stop playing this game.

I'm not going to post any goodbyes, but if you had an effect on my life and post I might post a reply. As far as the Emperor is concerned I voted for Nabburak because, for some strange reason, I thought nobody else was going to. Color me stupid.

Word.

I don't know if that's sarcasm or not, but I was always pretty happy when Zheairth was around. I could at least count on you to put some decent shaman tactics together. At least with you I didn't really feel the need to lay out the plan of attack before going in like I did for certain other divine. High Priest is pretty much yours for the taking. I don't know that Asfas is around enough, or at least not during my hours, to be High Priest. Good luck.

Months ago I was saying that if I didnt get Emperor I was deleting and when I didn't get Emperor that's when it became 'As soon as this set is gone.'

I was afraid you are going to delete when you didn't get Emperor and I'm glad you didn't. Overall, you were a decent imperial and good priest. Perhaps, a bit over-zealous in Nabburak's eyes but that's just fine for a high priest. You know, you can still reactivate *wink*

Do you realize you have just nailed down the rising Empire cabal. Now imperials have a "valid" reason not to login against odds at all. General lack of boosters in Empire makes raiding and defending for a bunch of people with zero damage reduction "interesting" and "amusing". It is even more "amusing" because Empire faces combined efforts of other cabals all the time.
Just a short snapshot from yesterday. We raid the Fortress and have an evil and neutral outlander plus a maran sitting outside the Fortress, then we raid Outlanders and have the said maran retrieving his items at the same time ( their communication is perfect ) and also we slay two villagers inside the Refuge. A bit later we raid the village and after a big battle when everybody got wounded and when Destructor was already convulsing we have outlanders ( invoker + warrior ) coming inside the village and rescuing them from being raided.

I'm not going to post any goodbyes, but if you had an effect on my life and post I might post a reply. As far as the Emperor is concerned I voted for Nabburak because, for some strange reason, I thought nobody else was going to. Color me stupid.

[DIVINE] Vinson: Hmm. Seems my gambit failed.

MUHAHAHAHAHA!
After all, you've made right choice.

The thing about being an Imperial Healer, particularly is that you're almost completely immune to anything. I got away with some pretty serious stuff because demoting/anatheming would've cost the Empire and Emperor more than just letting it slide. You've already read in this thread how I was badmouthing Nabburak over sect channel not realizing he could hear it. I never even got a tongue lashing.

It was not my intention to demonstrate that I can hear you. But Grurk has ruined fun for me by making it widely known *swear*

Then I accidentally healing cursed him because I was paying more attention to the tv than I was to the game. Again, he shrugged it off and said it didn't bother him even though it meant us sitting there for 8 ticks doing nothing.

You apologized quickly and readily.
Did you really want me to anathema you because you mistyped something? It is not something like "knee" instead of "kneel".

Oddly, I think Quevea was much more into the intersect rivalry aspect. She wouldn't sanc/etc. people outside of raid situations unless they paid for it. I was more lenient in that regard with Vinson.

That thing amuses me greatly.
Some years ago, somebody invented "evil healer" pattern for roleplay.
"Don't heal unless paid"
Since that majority of evil healers try to follow this pattern blindly. ( And end up with deleting because such roles have gameplaying issues ). Look at it from other perspective, when you actually heal your allies they become happy and dependant on you and in a long run it benefits you greatly. There is nothing wrong with a healer healing other imperials ( it doesn't mean to become a pet healer ), after all we are not scions, we are an orderly society where everybody does his job.

Come on be honest here. If your enemies were as unified as you say they would destroy you.

If I'm an evil outlander and fortress has the codex (fill in fort mage and battle here or what ever) I can't kill one of the five maran on? Even if I catch one alone and start winning they will Cry in help. I can't kill one of the five empire on. They will be together and even a syphilitic chimpanzee playing Nabburak's character should beat me since one of his many emperor powers negates my only strong cabal power.

I may not be able to pick anyone off when the five fight the five, but it is role appropriate for me to try and I sure will. It doesn't take communication between cabals to figure out that empire is going to go get their item back from the cabal that has it when they have the numbers to do it.

You are right about one thing though, a lot of people in empire are going to feel the hurt of Vinson being gone come raid time.

Let us assume that the chimp plays Nabburaks character by pressing the keys on the keyboard randomly. The outcome is likely to be far worse that the one that mob AI is able to perform. I think I could own the Nabburak character easily if the player would be that chimp instead of the real player.

Still, Nabburak's player is much better than the chimp would be, no question. Just because one character has an enormous advantage in the match up doesn't mean the player is bad.

>Come on be honest here. If your enemies were as unified as
>you say they would destroy you.

Not really. They can't coordinate themselves into a huge gang, but they can certainly call in aid at will and then dismiss it all as coincidence when somebody shows up who they should have a problem with. For example, I'm raiding the Fortress with Gnarugk. Jezerael and Llyria are the two Fort-people logged in. Not a mage in sight. We're whipping on the watcher, the healers are both nowhere to be seen, and who should wander in but Kjelror and GHRULKAR (a duergar). Ok, so now we have a duergar protecting the Fortress. I word or otherwise egress and Gnarugk gets a beat down from the villagers. He makes it out alive but they still attacked him. To me the whole situation is wacked.

We're raiding the village and as far as I can tell there aren't any villagers on, but the next thing I know a gang of maran show up magi in tow to try and get the jump on us at the Destructor. I can see maybe the warriors coming, but the magi? Alrighty then.

And while I'm at it I'll go ahead and say that it's pretty stupid that villagers strike the Palace as soon as they log on knowing I couldn't really do anything to stop them. I could prolong the situation, but all they have to do is flee and rest up one room away and then come in for more. Meanwhile there are two scions and 4 mages wandering around unaccosted. *shrug*

People bitch about Empire ganging, but when it's Empire versus the world regardless of the hatred between our enemies (mage maran and villager) it's almost a survival thing.

No, you don't. You have two villagers coming to kill enemies. And guess what, they go where the enemies are. They couldn't care less about the fortress.

You and everyone else who talks crap like this needs to step back and figure that out. It isn't that hard.

So, let's go back in time a little. Do you think Bush would have sent the military into Iran if Iraq invaded it? You have two parts of the Axis of Evil, one fighting the other, does Bush go into a place he's not wanted just because that's where the enemies are? My guess is HELL NO.

If he thought he could kill one or both, maybe!

But in this case, it's more like... the Mexican guy is always hanging with his four best friends, and when he's alone breaking into the house is his only chance to get at him.

A safari hunter camped out by a watering hole frequented by zebra, waiting to bag either a zebra or maybe a lion hunting the zebra... or maybe he'll have a great day and bag both.

Or, hey, like in Alien vs. Predator, when the Predators are happily hunting and killing humans and Aliens, the Aliens are mercilessly hunting and killing humans and Predators, and the humans realize it's better to help the Predators in the short-term to save the world from the Aliens in the long-term. I don't expect anyone but me saw that movie, though.

There's never a valid game-related reason not to log in. If people didn't do stupid #### like that I'd still be in there getting the job done. If that's how people are I hope they do get their asses beat now that I'm gone. I'm sorry that I may have been a reason for that type of behavior. It's sad. I was wandering around with a lowbie yesterday and saw you at the bottom of the who list and 4 other hero range imperials present and saw a 30th ranked scion shaman with a nightwalker. I was like, "wtf?"

No doubt.

>MUHAHAHAHAHA!
>After all, you've made right choice.

I don't know about right choice or not. I certainly wasn't voting for Nievar and Skolgrar didn't really share my playing times as much as I'd want out of the Emperor. I surely didn't think anybody was going to vote for the newest sect leader and the only person who wasn't a hero. Oh well. Pretty bad when you're pretty much the "power" of the Empire and you don't get Emperor.

>You apologized quickly and readily.

I probably would've, but then I long for the days of eeeeeevil.

>"Don't heal unless paid"

>nothing wrong with a healer healing other imperials ( it
>doesn't mean to become a pet healer ), after all we are not
>scions, we are an orderly society where everybody does his

It's not really that somebody just came up with it, it's more that Divine Sect Law dictates that those of other sects aren't to be assisted unless it benefits the sect. Raiding and defending benefit the sect so clearly those are instances when aid should be given. "Benefit" is difficult to measure when it comes in non-tangential forms. Putting a copper amount on it makes the benefit clear which is why I have charged with my previous two Empire healers.

Regardless, I think the sects get along too much now, but then I've already said that that is probably because of the Empire trying to crawl out of the underdog slot.

I think I got my last name added after I talked you down off of the ledge once time. I think you were about the only Hero rank Imperial, I cringed everytime I saw your range, and told you you would not be alone for long. Now I cringe everytime I see my range =0p

You will be sorely missed. I really though with the "convert or die" roleplay motto you had something to really keep you interested, alas not interested enough.

No matter what Empire or no, I hope your next brings you mucho fun.

Well that's a bummer. Empire is in a wheel chair about now, and having Vinson around was like being in the delux battery-powered model with the leather trim and the pennant attached to back. You're still handicapped, but it's a hell of a lot nicer then the one you have to wheel around yourself. Unfortunately the pendulum swings, just like it always does. I know I commented to other imms at least twice that when you were around, the Imperials won more often then not, and when you weren't around, the Fort folk won more often then not. Good luck with your next.

Couldnt believe my eyes when saw you gone. We had so many interesting politics games to play *wink*. Always was great to have you around, was kind of mentor and example for me. It was a long forgotten feeling like I wanted you to be pleased with me both IC and OOC.

Two healers are not very useful to each other so we had mostly talks and I liked your style. Not sure how it could work from the power side, but from RP side, you could be a great emperor, deadly in his rage.

Always wondered what you thought about me _really_ IC and OOC. I always got a feeling you dont tell me the truth.

You were good enough to be an elite divine, but whenever there are more than one Imperial healer around I always make sure I'm the better of the two. I did the same thing with Quevea. I kinda up my healing game when I have competition because I want to make sure I get all the shineys and the other guy gets my leftovers. I'd probably be the same way in other cabals too, because I feel like in order to be REALLY good as a healer you have to have the right gear. HP and saves are a must, otherwise you're just a sitting duck because other people focus on you first. That's why I tend to ignore progging gear aside from the staff of striking.

If my PBF is ever posted it should be pretty clear what type of Emperor I'd have been.

People think healing curse is this incredible power. What they don't realize is that it's a pain in the ass to land, even on cabal inners, and takes a pretty fair chunk of your mana. It's also two rounds of lag. If you have decent saves and are awake it's probably going to take a few tries before I can land it. With a transmuter in the building that's a dangerous game to play. I think you were the reason I went from Longevities to aquamarines. Neuros are dumb.

Empire is definitely taking a kick in the junk right now by losing Vinson.

On one hand, a well-played healer is so hard to kill that many would be tempted to write off your character's sassiness by saying, "Well, he was never really in danger of dying, so that's not brave." As much as you could reasonably be asked to bring it, I think you did. Nice job.

If you think you're noticing excessive fair-weather logins/outs or team logins/outs, feel free to send me an e-mail. I'm active enough again now to look into these things. Sometimes people just have the same kinds of play times (especially true for "prime time") but sometimes there's more to it than that, too. I can't promise to tell you what I find out, but, as with the healing curse thing, I will look and see what can/should be done.

I'd at least try to make an appearance if something was going down. That's more than I can say for a lot of other healers out there. Few things would give me pause, but I think the times I died it was because of transmuters or combinations of classes that have "unpreventable" forms of lag. I'd always go anyway, if only to stay for a round or two or long enough to try and get a sanc on at least one of the inners.

As far as team logins/outs I think it becomes pretty clear just by watching the fortress for a week or so. I don't really feel the need to call attention to anybody because snitches get stitches, but I ALWAYS made comments over cb about this phenomenon. I even bet Nievar (I think it was Nievar) one time about who would be the next person to login. Whenever I call attention to something like this on the forums it is my hope that the people involved will think "Well, they're watching me now so I better straighten up." I guess we'll see.

When Dawn was around that's about all I played, Dawnies and Arbies. I got tired of having people around me that couldn't pk or even survive pk, resulting in my spending a lot of time on regearing campaigns. It seems like there are a fair number of Fortressites now that can pk, but there are also some that I absolutely despise and could not fathom enjoying being in a cabal with (because of their petulant whining, to name one).

Empire has been the love of my CF life for a long time. I quit for awhile when it was removed and started playing seriously again when it came back. It's time for me to start branching out, probably in the direction of uncaballeds or some of the smaller cabals, for awhile. Maybe I'll make a Herald.

Sometimes you had the odds, sometimes we did, sometimes they were even. Overall I really enjoyed your presence as an Imperial and I'm glad that cabal had someone like you to boost them up. Your presence alone could really turn the tides in the hero range, and that always adds a little spice. You and Nabburak together were pretty brutal at times too. Hope you decide somewhere down the road that cabals really are for you, because people like you are what change the face of these organizations and we could really use some more folks with guts around. Take care of yourself, and good luck on whatever you decide to do next.

ps - Sleeping unsanced on the docks at ysigrath can prove fatal , and I was really digging the fighting today though I gotta admit I was surprised you went down like you did. It was fun.

That time on the docks I was afk. I knew some friendlies were coming towards me to learn or something so I didn't think somebody would walk in on me. I was actually taking a piss and just got back to see myself die.

Dying today was my fault. I was determined to get healing curse on you and essentially lagged myself out. Had I focused on just staying alive instead of putting you in a position to die everything would've turned out differently.

As far as returning to cabals I probably will, but it'd really help if people would man up instead of being the limp-wristed ship jumpers they are now. Stay logged in for a half hour at least, don't play more than one caballed character, and don't "scout" with your lowbies. That's all I ask.

First the good. I gave you a roleplay slant and you did well with it. I'm sorry it couldn't have been taken further with you, because interesting things were happening. Oh well, I appreciate what you did with it. I thought your roleplay was rather good. As for not getting Emperor, I thought you had the best shot at it, but to me, that's why Imperial politics are interesting.

Now the bad.

- Anybody that talks to me knows I've been waiting to delete for a while. I've been telling others for a long time that as soon as I lost my set I was deleting

If that's incorporated in your roleplay that's rather sad. If it's outside the realm of roleplay, that's sad as well.

Anyway, you were an interesting follower, played a healer well, and played an Imperial fairly well. As for cabal pendulum swings, I agree at times it's upsetting. But there have been some rather great, 4 on 4 on more fights recently that remind me of pking at it's best. They seem to be on the upswing.

It may be completely off base, but I feel like the whole Brutgelyth-anathemizaion post on the log board ruined any chances I had at becoming Emperor. I feel like that was a contributing factor, anyhow, even though people will probably say it wasn't. There are some die-hards that like that hardnosed old-skool Imperial slant, but I get the feeling most are more into the touchy feely let's all be friends team evil slant. Sure, they'll pay lip service to intersect rivalry, but for the most part the current crop is pretty friendly. Might be part of coming out of the underdog slot. Putting somebody like Vinson onto the Throne was probably too threatening to that frame of mind.

Oddly, I think Quevea was much more into the intersect rivalry aspect. She wouldn't sanc/etc. people outside of raid situations unless they paid for it. I was more lenient in that regard with Vinson.

It was OOC. I don't think anybody had any idea I was near deletion IC. I talk to two people who play CF on AIM and neither one plays any more with any regularity. I'm not sure what part you find sad about it, but there it is.

I don't feel like I was an interesting follower. I feel like Quevea was a more interesting follower, but maybe you disagree. I think I pretty much have the healer thing down. I haven't made a real deathful one mainly because it seems like there's always another healer out there hoarding all the super-shiny healer eq, but I like to think I make some of the better "pet healers." If I could get that damn bracelet I'm pretty sure nobody would die in my presence. Quevea was a better Imperial because of the intersect rivalry stuff she was involved in. It's easier to do that when you're not facing 7-man gangs. There are periods of good battles, but there are far more periods of extreme boredom.

Anyways, keeping being an easy empowerment and you'll probably keep seeing me playing Khas followers

Off base. I personally got the vote from each Sect Leader
directly. So no opinion any imm did or didn't (Didn't in my
case, I have no idea what we are talking about here) have
regarding the above had nothing to do with it. Unless you
mean it swayed the votes of the other Sects. In which case
I will reafirm: posting logs of active characters = bad.
Which is why we don't do that here.

Anwyays, all that aside.. you were cool to listen to on the
cabal and sect channels. I especially like how you were
bad mouthing the new emperor a bit on the sect channel,
appearantly unaware he could hear you.. =)

I thought your RP in confronting the "non-believers" was
very cool. I almost shot milk through my nose when you
told Nievar "That didn't look very deep". Anyhoo..

Good luck with the next, and come on back to Empire whenever,
We'll leave the light on for ya.

Good to know the Emperor can hear the sect channels. I didn't read that in the owner's manual. I did mean that it may have affected the votes of the various sect leaders. As far as Nievar's conversion, if I were in his position I'd have taken the dagger and suicided. He was a hero so it's not like he was going to prolong his ranking agony. It just seems like a few brief emotes don't get it when you're doing a religious conversion. *shrug*

I was converting to the Lord Khasotholas. Not to you.
If Lord Khasotholas was to require my suicide, I would have done it. Hero or not.

IC I have nothing but awe for the Dark Lord. And nothing but contempt for his High Priest. You have no idea how many times I spied or took advantage of you.

Most of the cabals are pretty straightforward:

Marans: Destroy evil.
Village: Destroy magi.
Empire: Each sect has a slightly different angle within the Empire. I would say even different goals. This is why I like playing Imperials.

Maybe when I am gone I will be able to explain it better.

This is mostly for Vinson:

Empire is all about politics.
Intrigues, blackmail, shady deals and hidden alliances - this is what Empire about.

Think of it:
Rules are simple.
There are four votes.
Whoever gets most votes wins.

Ultimately you want to have yourself crowned.
But so other sect leaders. So you have to play dirty to win.

When I read your 'Vote for me' note - I just laughed.
You tried an honest approach and lost.

In response to Reply #25

is that you're almost completely immune to anything. I got away with some pretty serious stuff because demoting/anatheming would've cost the Empire and Emperor more than just letting it slide. You've already read in this thread how I was badmouthing Nabburak over sect channel not realizing he could hear it. I never even got a tongue lashing. Then I accidentally healing cursed him because I was paying more attention to the tv than I was to the game. Again, he shrugged it off and said it didn't bother him even though it meant us sitting there for 8 ticks doing nothing. Nobody wants an Imperial healer High Priest to delete so everybody does pretty much everything they can to keep the healer happy. The reason I could shrug off losing sets for the most part is because I knew I could have almost everybody in hero range helping me regear if I wanted them to. When you have nothing to lose you risk more. The "I'm deleting when this set is gone" was more of an artificial point in time than losing gear being the reason for deletion.

I know what the Empire is about. I've had four characters in the neo Empire and three of them were sect leaders. Vinson had a very serious sense of entitlement. OOC I knew I was being fed lines of BS everytime somebody said they'd vote for me, IC I believed it was true because I couldn't fathom anybody else being chosen over me. It even says in my role at one point that the throne is all but mine and how I was already making plans for the next step. When I didn't get Emperor OOC I was a little frustrated because I saw it as a slap in the face to somebody who had been there longest and suffered through the leanest periods. IC though I was dumbfounded and pissed off which is why I went directly into finding people to replace the current Council members. When you "converted" I knew I was screwed. "Cleansing" you was the first step in my usurping Nabburak.

The letter was just an extension of my sense of entitlement. It was basically saying I was the only clear choice. That's because Vinson believed he was.

It wasn't a factor in you not getting Emperor. It's a simple vote by the sect leaders, that's it. However, as High Priest, you'd better think long and hard before you do something drastic to a follow of your lord. The old-school Imperial slant still exists. With you, however, I was focusing on something other than that. I think Nievar mentioned the word 'Pope' in one of his posts. Think 'Evil Pope' and that's more what I was interested in.

Quevea was an interesting character, but to be honest, you had so much more to dig into with Vinson if you'd wanted to keep at it. Good luck with whatever you do next. Empire will be waiting. We always are.

Me too. Cabal hopping is in full force now. Imms should really crack down on these players.

This, constant ganging on all sides, Fortress and Village covering each other bases and generally helping each other in every possible way - drives my desire to play to null.

Hey, certain anathema assassin managed to do it in 15 seconds. Made me want to laugh and cry at the same time.

What can I say... I was very uncomfortable with you.
Pushing for Khasotholas is a nice IC angle but was contrary to my agenda.

I did NOT want you as an Emperor. You might have seen it.
The reason is - Healer's main role is to heal and protect others.
And I wanted to have a pet healer, not a Pope.

As an Emperor you would been this Pope, preaching and ordering people around.
Even though you did not get the throne (your own mistake) - you still made a difference in all aspects when you were around.

Peace...

And joined my side. I had fun rampaging with Vinson at my back, and there were times I wondered if you weren't more content helping me with the slaughter than you were with your empire (or maybe orcs are delusional). I enjoyed our interactions and wish you the best with your next.

I did enjoy rampaging with you because you weren't bound by the same laws as myself or my usual allies. People couldn't hide from you in the city, so I was happy to unleash you on those who did. That and I've recently become infatuated with orcs so it's always nice to see one do well.

IC I had zero problems with you. You were willing to mix it up, and whatever smack talking you did was wholly IC and appropriate for an Imperial. Our relationship was the typical paladin/evil healer relationship. Pure frustration. Neither one of us was ever going to be able to kill the other without at least one extra helper. In your case you didn't generally have one other person to help you, and in my case it just wasn't role appropriate. What you did have on your side was that damned healing curse which, (everyone say it with me now) is really a #### power* for an Imperial to have.

OOC I had minimal problems with you as well. I did notice a tendency to come to the forums for a solution to your IC problems. To prove my point about this, the first fight we had after your post about hiltsmash, you miraculously knew to remove your weapon to stop it from happening. That irritated me greatly, because I saw it as a reward for not taking even the time to read the help files before complaining on the forum.

Then you posted about shifters, and your problems with a certain player (which should have gone in an email to the imms really) and it just highlighted why I think the forums are becoming a crutch for people. Everytime you had a problem fighting something, you went to the forums. I can tell you from personal experience, thats a bad slope to start down. You aren't a bad player by any means, it's ust a little constructive criticism that you may want to try a little more to find solutions to things before coming to the forums. IE emails to the imms with complaints about players, asking IC about tactics and the like.

Overall I enjoyed our interactions, and agree 100% with you about the logins and outs on all sides of the cabal wars. Thanks for giving me someone to be entirely frustrated by. Good luck on the next.

I got your PBF by the way.

*It's not overpowered, I just feel it's inappropriate for the Empire to have this, on top of the best protective ability in the game.

The thing with hiltsmash, I think, is a matter of the helpfiles being poor. I read the hiltsmash helpfile a number of times before I came to the forums. I just never read the necessary helpfile closely enough.

The thing with shifters wasn't really a problem. I didn't have any difficulty fighting shapeshifters, I was just frustrated by wanting to gate to Bransyn and being unable to because he was in form. Every time I'd try to gate to one of his forms I'd end up standing next to some mob of the same type. Then there's standing at the entrance to the fort trying to have a shaman summon out a shapeshifter and for some reason summoning in a mob of the same type instead. It just doesn't make any sense to me, but it's not something that caused the character any real difficulty.

The Jezerael thing came up because it was mentioned spontaneously by Nepenthe on the forums in the healing curse thread. I never even made mention of the name, but he knew who I was talking about so I just let him know that I knew too and that perhaps a little negative immteraction was necessary.

I don't have the expansive OOC ring of CF friends to feed me tidbits. Generally I do rely on learning things IC. Sometimes I come here. *shrug*

It was just a but of advice from someone who has been around for a while, and is just starting to fully grasp how badly people tend to come to the forums to solve their problems IC. It wasn't necessarily directed entirely at you, and I'm sorry if it came off as being harsh. I really liked Vinson and liked fighting him. Same as I told restraal, I loved hating you.

You bring your problems to both Dio's and here all the time. My advise to you is to take your own advise, which includes stop posting with your current, active character or coming across like this. I mean, how are we not supposed to take it? Who cares about hiltsmash? I'm sure that you learned everything you now utilize in combat through IC connections. As for the "healer" that problem has been going on a long damn time and I was surprised that "healer" lasted this long before being discovered.

As for your self proclaimed "non-gankosity", perhaps you should re-evaluate that statement so its not so black and white. I have personally been on the receiving end of the darker side of your activities. This is also another side effect of posting with a current, active character.

I am also not trying to come across as an ass.

As for why I replied to both the hiltsmash thread and this one as my current character, that should be pretty obvious even to a moron like you. Had I replied to that thread with my usual handle, it would have been as good as posting "Hey, I play Ahelun" as a reply to Vinson. Just how many two handed elf dedicates do you think he fights? As for Dios, I don't post there anymore. As for all of my combat knowledge, yes actually it was garnered ICly. Thats one of the advantages of playing a little bit of everything. You get to know how one class stacks up against various other classes, what works and what doesn't. Also, had you read my post I SAID "and is just starting to fully grasp how badly people tend to come to the forums to solve their problems IC". You clearly have some bone to pick with me, which is just fine with me. But if you're going to talk #### at least read and comprehend the original post first.

There's clearly a difference between being "non ganking" and "never-ever ganking". But again, thats a subtlety I doubt someone like you will ever grasp. But thats not really the issue here is it? The issue is pretty clearly you having some hostility to work out, probably at some IC frustration over not being able to beat me IC. Thats really too bad for you.

>I am also not trying to come across as an ass.

Sure you were but thats ok. I really don't care how much of an ass you want to be, but next time at least have the courtesy to move the bitch fest to a more appropriate forum. None of your rant had jack #### to do with Vinson, and really had almost nothing to do with my post. If you want to start an "Ahelun is a bad hypocrite and should be flayed alive" post, please do it on gameplay or something, or save it for when I delete. This is Vinsons thread and I'd like it to stay about him and the people posting about him.

Gotta commend you for guts in some situations I fought you inn atleast. Hard to interact with a shapeshifter. But still I sensed alot of people where wary once you showed up.
And I understand well your frustration of the mass logons and offs. Uncaballed means greater freedom. Though less imm interaction in most cases. Gonna have to rely more on your role than anything else.
Luck with the next one.

When you would come with anywhere between two and seven allies to raid the Tree, it always made trying to defend fun. Since I knew there was going to be no way I could actually kill you while you had a group full of nasty people guarding you and a black aura around you, there were only a few things I could do. Toss a dagger in your throat to prevent you from using that staff, or str drop you from preventing using that staff and also kicking dirt in your eyes so you couldn't heal others. You made things more interesting and challenging and its a shame to see an enemy valuable for the opposition to come try to raid even when I'm around. As it is, few Imperials will enter the Tree if there's another Outlander in range in the lands at the same time. I hope I don't fall into your category of "people who logged out because of bad odds", because I tried never to do that. Good luck with your next. Join Outlander. We pride ourselves on bad odds.

Honestly, it might just be my playing times but I've seen stupid Outlander numbers. When you log on and you see 5-10 Outlanders you know tough times are ahead. I'd also like to play a trapper thief Outlander, but a trapper thief without hide? Meh.

First off, I've never seen more than 6 Outlanders on at a time. (I understand you may be exagerating a bit for emphasis) And secondly, It's about freakin time we had some numbers. During my last Outlander induction I was told I would be often hunting alone..and I think we had 7 players in the cabal total. Reguardless, The aggravation you cause with your healerness was a thing of beauty. Too bad I never got a chance to give you a wee smack. Later.

I'm positive I've seen a period of more than 6 HERO RANGE Outlanders on at once as recently as this past week. I didn't save it, but I had at least six "crude sacks" written in the notebook program that let me know who was still around hidden in the weeds. God bless locateable objects on chameleoned Outlanders. You all make it so easy with your sacks.

Well thats prolly the reason I have a bunch of those sacks on me.

Well played btw, we didnt rumble to much (different playtimes I think), but you could bet on me trying to take you down first if you came. Outlander is strong, but not as strong as you believe. If you roll one up now youll be in hero range when the outlanders delete heh.

I hope you didnt see me log off if things were against me... I usually play with the cards I have, and when I log out I'm tired and need rest. Prolly comes from months of being alone at my playtimes in outlander.

Good luck with the next. And trapper without sneak might work. Only goto hunt on other grounds and with different methods than other trapper thieves. Worst part is to get those ranks.

Outlander is still one of the smallest cabals (about half the numbers of Empire, much less than Fort or Tribunal, etc.) It's growing, though. A month ago it was significantly smaller than even Scion.

Side note: damn, Battle got tiny.

There has been a time or two where I've seen 5+ outlanders on, but this is a rare, rare occasion. A lot of the time, you'd come with 5+ people to raid vs. just myself or myself and one person to defend, so don't feel too overwhelmed by us just yet.

On a positive note, you made things really difficult trying to defend against a raid or trying to retrieve. I knew if you were around, there wasn't much point in trying to raid the palace. Healers in Empire make things quite wicked. Good luck with your next, and roll up that trapper thief. Better yet, how about an outlander binder thief? Heh.
