As soon as I get myself back set-up to do coding after the asploding computer problem, I'll go try and get this fixed and re-post your character sheet.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

The few fights we had were alright. It took balls to come to the fort against our people and I'll give credit where credit is due for sure. You seemed pretty interesting and I know a lot of the fort folks were wary of your presence. Wish we could have had a couple more tussles, but I know how it feels when your character gets stale.

Good Luck with the next one, make it a fortie

I have been playing long enough to get a very good grasp on roleplay, and I love Scion roleplay, but I do not have much experience PKing yet. I have never been involved in cabal wars and I was wondering..
Do you recommend Scion to people with limited PK experience? I was thinking that the challenge of the cabal would help me, but maybe I would just find myself overwhelmed.

Thanks!

My answer depends on what kind of class/character you have. Role playing of course is important, but being able to hold your own in a pk is important too. If you consistently get trounced, your other cabalmates and Eshval are going to notice that you aren't holding your own. However, if you have the kind of character that doesn't need to directly involve himself or herself in a pk (say for example, a thief or assassin) to be effective, then you might do well.

Personally I would encourage you to try out cabal politics and wars in a more forgiving environment first, such as Tribunal or Maran. These cabals both have policies that allow you to make some mistakes, and as long as you are trying hard and the mistakes aren't monumental, to keep on going. The leadership and your cabalmates will also be more willing to help you out than power-hungry Scions.

I always tried to help the players I thought were 'new' with Restraal as much as possible. However, Scion is the 'elite evil' cabal, so there was only so much handholding I could do before I was forced to boot people. And while getting the boot isn't insurmountable (I myself was kicked out by Eshval, and came back and eventually became a leader), it can leave a very sour taste in your mouth, especially if you are a newer player.

Good luck with whatever you decide,

Rich Uncle Resty

try out tribunal first as a cabal. Its a good cabal for newbies and you can retreat in town should you have trouble...assuming you live. Try a warrior or an assassin in tribunal for pk purposes. You will find it much easier. After you learn your way a bit in PK, you can make a character who is more independent. Tribs will forgive small mistakes much easier than Valg boy or some other evil god/cabal.

Scion is not a good place to learn to pk. Restraal is right.

As with Scion, anyone I'm forgetting, let me know and I'll respond.

Uncaballeds:

Desmonn: I do wish I could have made that thing happen. I was really debating sticking around when I saw Qaledus wrote me my own island, retiring from Scion, and becoming council to your guild. The hurt we could have put on Hamsah and any other city...well, I guess it doesn't bear thinking about. You deserve all you got, and I hope you get more.

Hipsin: Boy, it was difficult waiting for you to die off so I could help put Desmonn in power. However, I do think you were a great kingpin (ala my goodbye to you), and I'm sorry that you didn't heroimm. For what it's worth, I saw you interact with a great deal of people, and think you should have got it.

Akannia: Personally, I'm rooting for you. Despite what your critics said, I always admired your spunk, and thought you were hilarious to boot. 'WELCOME TO WAR THEN, MIDGET!' Classic says me!

Androkin: One great character, and one I always loved seeing. Thank you for all the adventures, talks, and secret-sharing. I enjoyed seeing you were a fellow sphere member, and thought you played it out extremely well. I thought you deserved more, but you certainly have my respect. If you still have it, can you post that note? I loved it.

Dragon-hunter svirf: Yes, I did want you dead when I saw all the stuff you were wearing, and when you wouldn't help us with killing other cabal members. In the end, I'm glad I didn't.

Menoch: See your goodbye. It was fun.

Tribunal: I agree with Tjok that Tribunal is the true evil in Thera. To me, you guys are like that dorky kid who was the hall monitor in middle school. You allied yourself with Authority to try to get perks, but everyone else hates you, and some people beat you up for it. I enjoyed beating you up.

Onirikoth: I love what you are doing with your character. I don't want to get too into it, because I think you hold your cards close to your chest, but let's just say I liked having a rival in the manipulation biz. Good luck.

Klen/Lora: See your goodbyes.

Melacarfina: Well, you took quite a pounding at the hands of Restraal and his flunkies. But, if you can't do the time, don't do the crime, so to speak. Being a full-fledged member of the Maran Law Enforcement Division earned you the beatings you took.

Vargblot: A stout little svirf. I liked your spunk, but I'll tell you, if you wanted to take me down, you should have used other tactics. The ones I saw you doing, well...Klendalstak and Lora did the same thing for months on end. If I raid Maran, you wait near Maran for them to call. If Maran raid us, you come to the Chasm. Yawn. There's other stuff you can do.

Maran:

I don't really want to get into what I think of the current state of Maran. 15 heroes does not a quality cabal make. You have a few gems though, and I'll mention them.

Iramath: Great character. Excellent character. One of the few who actually adheres to Maran doctrine. I have faith that you can turn the cabal around, but I have to say, you will need to boot a few people to make it happen. Don't be hesitant with the stick, in your own goodie-way. I hope a few shots of distilled dwarf juice does you good.

Heas: Another great character, and another who adheres to Maran doctrine. I enjoyed your dwarf-spin on things. Keep it up!

Kalumgar: I liked you a lot as well. But in the words of Julius, you gating when Iramath promised me privacy made me nervous. And when I get nervous, I get scared. And when I get scared...that's what people get ambushed by five Scion flunkies, heh. Great job.

Outlander:

Tjok: A great character, and one I've known through three characters now myself. If I woulda known that you wanted to be chilly, I would have been nastier to you. You kept Outlander going; thanks for that deal.

Cathoria: Nasty, nasty warrior. You were sick, and I'm glad I had a chance to know you as both a friend and foe.

Karrel: Another nasty Outlander. Jumping me with Jaeinn and others made me upset, however, and when you attacked me when I gated, I decided to sneak in when you were fighting Onirikoth...and the rest is history. Luck with your next.

Thays: What can I say, I liked Thays. I thought you were a 'good' good addition to Outlander. Sorry you didn't stick it out.

Village:

Dralkoz: Damn are you one nasty warrior. I haven't seen you of late. What's up?

Iborenn: Another guy I've known through two characters (both of which were enemies). I enjoyed the semi-philosophical talks. Good luck turning around battle.

Glauthran: I always thought you were a dwarf for some reason. Another guy I hated seeing on 'who.'

Alathin: Life was always much more difficult when you were around with other ragers. Good rager, good bard.

Ackuol: 'We'll bring you down no matter what it takes.' Yeah...I'm a healer pal. You're a berserker...act like one.

Acaga: Pretty nasty berserker, but again, I'm a healer. How does challenging a weakling like a healer to single combat and then taunting him when he doesn't accept prove you are a superior warrior? You had bigger fish to fry.

Vershelt: Johnny on the spot with those stuns. Luckily my lash was so unreliable, I could count on it to wake people with no lag. You were always willing to mix it up. Thanks for the fights.

Could you explain a little more? Or are you still confused with old tribunal thinking justiciar is the goodie and vindi is the evil?

In fact, I really have no idea how Justiciars are supposed to work, and I don't really care. As I said, Tribunal is always going to be that middle-school kid who sold out, and my characters are always going to try to beat them up and take their lunch money.

What my comment means is you seemed to be at the Maran's beck and call, much like the Vindicators, but without their very viable excuse of being charged with hunting down criminals where they are. Also, there were multiple occassions where I would be summoned into a Maran group in town and attacked with you hiding in the Spire, and they would never get warranted. IC, I never complained, because why would a lawless lil devil like Restraal care? However, the bias towards Maran you showed made me want to target you even more, which I did. Also, you tended to hide in the Spire when Granaak and I were about, sometimes with up to three other Magistrates. We'd be outside killing anything that moved, and the three or four of you would just stay in there. That's just not good mojo for someone who has sworn themselves to protecting the cites and upholding order.

So it's really not your character with this bias, it's you.

I can honstly, without any bias whatsoever say you are just full of ####. Mela isn't even very well liked by a lot of the Fortress, myself included. As one of the more active Marans around, I've never once seen her doing anything at all to help the Fortress. I don't know where your opinion on this comes from, but you're just really REALLY far off base.

Sadly, this is 100% accurate. At one point I had a theory. This theory involved people from Scion also playing Tribunals. Certain Scions would log out, certain Tribunals would then log in and not even try to stop you and Granaak from running roughshod over Galadon. So instead of just flying off and writing bitchy notes or griping, I bided and watched. After some careful consideration I realized my first assumption was in error. Seems the Tribunals just weren't interested in coming at you guys, even with 3-4 on 2.

I would almost rather it had been the first. The second is just sad.

But I would rather not go into a lot of why's while mela is still around. I will say that not once does mela show any favor between someone being good and evil. So, sorry I wasn't there to save your butt... but then again I'm sure if I came out and warranted them all, you'd just attack me right? It just sounds to me like you put a lot of how you feel as a player into your actions rather than how your char feels. I'll have plenty to say, I'm sure when I finally do die who knows how long that will be.

Going to pull a page out of Ahelun's book:

>I will say that not once does mela show any favor between someone being good and evil.

Heh

>So, sorry I wasn't there to save your butt...

If you think I was running into Galadon all those times (while wanted) to 'hide' and have you 'save my butt' from the people I came in to kill, well...I'm just not sure what to say here.

> but then again I'm sure if I came out and warranted them all, you'd just attack me right?

You are absolutely right, I would attack you. However, I'm an evil, chaotic Scion with a chip on his shoulder. How are a Justiciar. I may be confused, but I had thought Justiciars were supposed to investigate crimes + dole out warrants. Hiding in the Spire and not warranting Marans who broke the laws seems to contradict your purpose, not to mention your first assertion.

>It just sounds to me like you put a lot of how you feel as a player into your actions rather than how your char feels.

Your mistake is assuming that I as a player and Restraal as a character can't feel the same way. Originally Restraal helped Tribunal when Outlander was annoying him. However, Tribunal's incompetence and betrayals in addition to killing his lackeys and raiding the Chasm eventually drove Restraal to bring the pain to the cities. It was well within my role to do what I did.

True. I enjoyed it when you were about though, you were tough and smart, so it would be exciting with you around. Empire/Scion seems to be on the rise slowly again..so that's 1 good sign at least. Luck with next, I'm sure it'll be a beast.

And I know there are others too.

Ginharq was one of the Maran I hated seeing the most. Somehow, despite my sick svs and svp, those neuros always seemed to have my number. The day of my final pk death (when Kelin killed me), I couldn't believe I managed to chase you out of the Chasm. You struck me as a tenacious, die-hard Maran. I appreciated that and wish there were more foes like you.

Restraal was an amazingly well-spoken, intellectual adversary. It was never lost to Iramath that you were the true heart of the problem when it came to the Scions, and so he did everything in his power to try and stop you, from futile attempts on your life to conversations that were equally futile...but fun! I loved the personality of the character, and it would be great to have been working together, but there is just no real way to verbalize how maddening it is trying to take you down, or fight whoever it is that you had in tow with you sitting there healing. Fortunately my specs allowed me to disable people in a way that a healer can't repair very quickly, so it came down to a Mexican Stand-off more than a few times.

Excellent character, all around.

Our solo fights were an exercise in futility for us both. You had no real way to cause me harm, and I had no way at all to keep you pinned down long enough to finish the job through your protections. You weren't afraid to mix it up, even against poor odds and I have to give you credit for that. Those 6-7 man ganks of yours were pretty whack though. Understandable considering some of the things I saw happen from our side of the war too, but still whack nontheless.

Really well played. Roll something else for me to hate.

Enjoyed our fights. I fought you a bit with my conjurer, Dralgarth. Guess that was before all your maran gankings. You were usually the lone scion about, and would even defend agaisnt me when it was just you in the chasm. Healers make cabal wars more enjoyable....its too bad that the fortress healers never seem to be up to par...

That time I died to tesseracting, I am curious to see your side of it. (Logs of the tells if you got em.) I didnt realized the mana needed to tesseract two of us to you..(Kelin was with me. He commented that you were in healing sleep or I misunderstood thats what he meant. Figured he was sending you tells. I cast the spell and boom, im dead.) You commented in game, about how pathetic it was to have my group mate belittling me or laughing about my mistake. Wasnt sure if you were just stirring ####, up or was telling the truth.

I don't have it where I am now, so give me a day or two.

Basically, it was part trying to stir up the Maran pot and drive a wedge between you two, and part truth. When I noticed your corpse, I made a comment to Kelin. Kelin then replied that you had acted foolish, didn't follow his directions, and basically made an ass out of yourself and died. I can't remember if I was in a healing sleep or not, but I do remember not being hurt enough to really have been in danger.

I just thought the whole thing was funny from my evil point of
view

Nice character. Not much interaction between us, as I wasn't (and
still am not) around all that much, but it was good working with
you, and I felt I managed to do that without being just a cookie
cutter Scion flunky at the times that we did.

Actually, the prospect of running around with your character
caused me to log on a few times* because it was kinda fun and like
you said in the below post you definitely had your #### together.
Also like you said, when you got a bunch of people who are on top
of knowing what needs to be done without being told, a small group
of those competent folks can be -very- deadly.

I wish I could have seen more of Runaktla. Scion was missing a kick-ass transmuter throughout virtually all of Restraal's career. I had you pegged for someone I could groom into the spot, but I just saw you so rarely, I knew even if I inducted you I'd have to boot you for not showing.

So in any case, I liked Runaktla and thought you were a smoove operator. Thanks for running with me and keep on doing that thing you do...being a nasty, duo-dimensioned drow

That time when you Granaak and me went and got the fetish back, it was a last resort i was outnumbered and wanted the fetish back, and you tried to group me i was like oh crap is he going to kill me because im a goodie? i was half expecting a bash from granaak heh. But there were a few times when I helped you out well only because i was getting the fetish back out of it. There was one time in the weald i was going to ambush you to get the orbs for outlander, you were all alone with no sanc up i was like ohhh bugger it im gonna ambush, i typed waylay restraal and as i pushed enter, you moved. onto the crumbling road. i followed you a little bit, but it was as if you knew i was there!!! I was laughing anyway. But im glad i didnt ambush you, because im sure i would have died a lot for it. Well great character I liked you. Hope you had a blast! Good luck with your next.

Restraal didn't really see matters in 'good vs evil' and 'light vs dark' and kind of poked fun at those who did. In his eyes, he was just a pragmatist trying to do a job and grab as much power and riches as he could along the way. The means he employed to do this were what we would think of as 'evil' (master murdering, betraying 'friends,' uncaring comments etc), but *he* didn't think of it that way.

As such, it may be anathema for you to group with me (or maybe not, as Outlanders have a bit more leeway), but Restraal wouldn't have cared if you were good or not. The proof was in the pudding...you were fighting the same people he was, so sure, he'll throw a sanc on you and push you in front, no problem.

If I'm missing anyone...sorry, it was a long life.

Scion:

First and foremost...

Granaak: I gotta give you a shout-out, big guy. You were always a consistant ass-kicker. Whether or not you say you are relatively new, I can tell you that you are kicking the same or more ass as the 'elite vets' of CF. Now that you have a hero under your belt, it's all downhill. Thanks for always putting a bug in my ear to 'crush bones.' Good luck with whatever you're up to now.

Akscereh: Boy, I feel bad not telling you I was deleting. I was sworn to secrecy so 'She' wouldn't find out. I was skeptical originally about you being chancellor, especially after your problems finding the time to show up. However, Akscereh and Restraal were about as friendly as two Scions could be, and short of a few personality clashes, you proved me wrong and turned out fine. Thanks for all the fights/talks, and sorry I couldn't be around longer to help you turn the tide.

Hylondin: A tough cookie. You seemed to switch gears, as originally our characters were kind of friendly. That's cool, but there's a bit more to Advisor than I think you realize. You may have been in for a surprise if you did make Chancellor and then tried to get rid of me. Good luck.

Kimberly: I think you caught a bad wrap, and I always liked you. Keep up your research, and I think you have a very good shot to make that thing happen. I'm rooting for you.

Gnashikt: I couldn't believe you took the Oath? What happened? I liked you and tried to help you when I could. Bah!

Divelhowe: I liked your spunky, helpful attitude. But, we were under pressure to clean out the Chasm. I do hope you reapply if you are still kicking around.

Hedda: Man, do you know your stuff. I was hoping you would stick around. Sometimes vacations are tough to get over, eh?

Vanzokh: God I was super pissed when your becoming was unsuccessful. You always had the killer instinct, and were a good balance to the more rp-oriented Scions. I loved running with you and Granaak. Thanks for the good times.

Amticufa/Wauldenz: What the heck happened? I liked you both a lot.

Olbikar: I hope you take my advice to heart. I liked you maybe more than I should, but there was just something about you I felt was spot-on for Scion. Taking that felar warrior apart was a good start. Keep on truckin!

Alcaledies: Damn did you die a lot. But damn, did you like to fight. I loved hanging out with bloodthirsty Scions as a balance to my rp duties. I could always count on you for a scrap. Thanks man.

Giliian: Not much escapes this Advisor's attention. I'm not going to let a potential coup take place if I can help it. You dying so many times was the excuse I needed to boot you. You need to keep quiet next time you wanna do the dirty deed.

Troenlar: Messing with you sure was fun. But, after all, that's what the Architect teaches us!

Anyone else I'm forgetting...I'll respond if you post.

First hero, but I am used to PK'ing from other MUD's. I do enjoy it here and will certainly make it my home now.

You were a true pain but a lot of fun. Granaak realized you had other stuff to do...but when your PK range had more hero Maran in it than members you have ever even heard of in your Cabal..well you know we had some stomping to do

Anyway, we always had "much work to do" but boy did we get that #### done.

You deleting is just as big a blow as Granaak, and together.. well.. we don't have two people in scion who worked together nearly as well without even needing to know what the other was thinking or doing. Can't believe you even had any doubt in your mind about me at all, heh. I will tell you though, I wouldn't have taken Chancellor unless you got Advisor, the uniqueness of your personality fit so very perfectly. I am glad you were around as much as I was at least, it was nice to actually have someone solid to roleplay with in depth like we did. Don't really know what else to say, other than I am more than impressed with you and hopefully get to interact with your next creation sometime down the road.

p.s. Thanks for showing me all that you did, I had no idea there was that much I didnt know about, and I feel like we only skimmed the tip of the iceburg (as they say )

I am always pleased when i find chars not to mention players that i can bond with. We did that and i am certain i will meet you somewhere on CF again.

I'd like to thank all the imms that make this game fun to play. I suppose you all do in your own way, but some affected me more than others.

First and foremost...

Qaledus:

What can I say? You're the man. When I rolled Restraal, I had an idea in my head for a healer that was manipulative, self-serving, greedy, wise, wealthy, and perversely well-liked. Your religion seemed to fit that to a T. I was always so happy whenever you would tell me 'Come on in' or stop by when I was doing whatever. Really, you can't underestimate the amount your divine Person boosts a follower's morale. I never knew if I was doing what you wanted me to, because I viewed your religion as very wide open to interpretation. When I got tattooed, I thought, ok, whatever I'm doing I must be doing OK. After a while, I started to feel like a walking billboard advertisement for you and your religion, and I loved it. People were always asking me about you and how to become your follower, etc. I think it's because most of your followers tend to be low-profile, much like yourself, and a healer was a strangely-visible oddity (I could be wrong about this, just my feeling). In any case, I cannot thank you enough for all your bizarre and eccentric comments (loved them!), and every interaction you gave me. Writing a room just so I could see it and delete...I felt so bad. I almost tried to get you to create a gateable mob just so I could justify actually retiring in-game and keep going with the Galadonian thieves-guild councilor angle. But...it was time to go. I'll always remember the good times.

Eshval:

Again, I'm kind of stumped as to what to say about you. At the beginning, I thought you were, well, let's just say I didn't have too many positive things to say about you. You uninducted me for keeping secrets and not being a team player, something I felt Scions naturally should be doing. You also didn't respond to my email, not even to say 'you're wrong.' However, as time went by, I started to see a method to your madness and appreciate it. Eshval is suppose to be insane, and obviously it's difficult to interpret the movements and mood swings of someone that's insane. At the end, I appreciated all you did and the chances you gave me in Scion. I felt I hugged the neutral/evil line pretty close, and kind of made fun of the 'typical' Scion mentality with Restraal, but yet you gave me a chance. Thanks for that.

Lyristeon:

In the past I had a follower of yours of a somewhat high profile. I remembered what an amazing experience it was to be your follower, so I tried to speak/interact with you in any way possible with Restraal. Unfortunately it seemed relegated to simply debates and wordplay, and I couldn't seem to break through that barrier. Still, those were fun, although I still think you have an unfair advantage being a god, because I couldn't just call you out and say 'WRONG!' Keep it up--you're a great imm.

Khasotholas:

I don't know why I decided to approach you. I kind of wish I had more time to develop something. It was a fun challenge to try to deal with an evil deity of my mortal enemies in a way that was cleverly sarcastic but yet avoid me getting smacked. Thanks for taking the time to put up with my pithy comments.

Muuloc:

Thanks for all the talks; you're were an interesting leader and an equally interesting heroimm. However, Restraal isn't the kind to take someone offering him something and then never following-up lightly. He was a businessman, and you don't make those offers without a certain implied guarantee. In any case, I secretly was rooting for you to get your religion before I deleted so I could keep bugging a full-fledged god the same way I bugged you. Good luck.

Dreaa:

Haven't seen you as much of late. I agree though, the Advisor position has the potential to be exponentially more powerful than Chancellor. I was able to capitalize to a certain degree with this in mind. I liked having a fellow acid-tongued Scion about, although I would argue I was more humorous with my acerbic commentary.

Actually, I treated you that way because you even stated that you were sarcastic. I figured the best way to treat a sarcastic person was to call them on it and feed it right back at them.

I will interact with non-followers, but I don't do it on just a whim. It takes a bit longer for me to be 'interested' enough in a non-follower for them to get the imp love. Especially an empowered character without letting their imm be in on it. And we didn't have near the time that usually goes into that.

As for being wrong. I have too much wisdom *IC to ever be wrong.

Restraal was a good character and I am glad that you are still enjoying the game and hope you continue to keep coming around to play.

* I had to put this in there or else I would never get Amaranthe to stop laughing at me.

Mission accomplished. Good lord were you all those things.

I tried to be available as much as I could. It was a little

you and Shorty.

More than Ok. Whatever hoarding people accused Restraal of,
I got the same treatment upstairs because all that stuff went
to me.

>After a while, I started to feel like a walking billboard

Yep. That's the whole point!

You're wrong. It's because you were not only high profile,
but your presence danced upon the razor's edge of being a
gift and curse. Eventually I decided it was more a gift,
and I think the others who interacted with you felt the
same way.

>In any case, I cannot thank you enough for all your bizarre and

Half the time I was just trying to keep up. I'm glad we got away
from our constant wordplay phase because I was struggling.

That was the point of the room. With the crashing it happened
that it got in in time, otherwise I figured you'd have just
gated off somewhere and deleted. I'm glad it worked out like
it did.

Restraal was an extremely strong (good) character from my
perspective. Just as infuriating as delightful at times, it
was a treat for a lot of us to see what monkeyshines you would
get up to next.

Thanks for being one of my followers.

So, you used me as an advertisement and I didn't even get paid? I'm a little curious on the second comment, however. Restraal always pictured himself as 100% in Qaledus's corner, not just because he was his Patron deity, but because you were the source of his power, as well as his mentor and role model. I can see how I was a curse to other people . But you? Restraal was all about keeping your pockets nice and fat.

In any case, I'm also curious if you really did get comments from 'upstairs' about the amount of stuff I was lugging around for you. I always feel that I gave everyone a fair shot at getting back all the crap I was lugging around. I wasn't going to make it easy for them, but neither did I hide from fights or sit in a hole in the ground rather than going out actively looking to recruit new loot from cooling corpses .

I was incredibly impressed with Restraal's roleplay. As far as offering you something etc, well I did all a heroimm can do I think(I was mostly just a messenger), and I never said when...heh...I think you got some cool stuff though, and I'm really glad Qaledus hooked you up with that island. It doesn't get much better than that.

I remember many of our arguments(tough on me with giant speech and all), and the fair amount of work I had to do to get you back into Scion, and then the fair amount of work I had to do to keep myself from booting you again ;P.

The truly amazing thing about Restraal was how he walked the line between being a resourceful and much needed ally and such an infuriating pain that I wanted to kill him, literally. You somehow managed to infuriate me the player sometimes, which takes some doing. He was a true work of art. He pushed me to explore parts of Muuloc I wouldn't have had to otherwise, which is great, so thanks for that. We were quite the contrasting pair.

It would have been interesting to have you as Advisor when I was Chancellor(No offense Dreaa) It would have made some big sparks.

I don't really know what else to say except well done. Email me some logs if you want...like that one in the Jade Vaults. I never logged.

When you were a mortal, I was in my 'Pay me!' phase (as per my general comments); exactly the kind of healer I would hate to have around myself. However, I'm glad you noticed that I tried to walk that line between being a pain and being a very useful resource...it was a difficult balance, and one I was always worried about.

Did you give me an email? I have pretty much all of Resty's life logged, so any log you want I probably have, if you give me some time to find it.

Thanks again,
Rich Uncle Resty

What I would not do was address your email, it was OOC and had no place in the events that were taking place. Understand, many times I, and possibly other IMMS, do things that seem to mystify the onlooker and recipient(s). I seldom take epic, character-affecting actions without a period of deliberation. You were playing beneath your potential at that time and becoming complacent in your position and place within the Chasm.

I digress...no, I won't answer OOC emails regarding events,
before/during/after said event.

>I digress...no, I won't answer OOC emails regarding events,

I can see your point here. Although, I think you can see that it simply looks like you are ignoring my or whoever's concerns.

>You were playing beneath your potential at that time and becoming complacent in your position and place within the Chasm.

This however, I personally feel is debateable. I simply wasn't playing nice with Dreaa and the other Scions, and I'm not sure that's the same as not playing to potential. I had my own angles involving Kardrath, Qaledus, consolidating a power base of my own, and as a consequence I was always on Dreaa's last nerve. Having my own designs and keeping secrets from other Scions I don't feel is playing beneath my potential. I feel my mistake was being too obvious about my untrustworthiness and condescending attitude towards Dreaa and the rest. After the boot, however, I think I learned from that and tried to cover up my intentions a bit more, as well as shifting my focus from being short-term to long-term goal oriented.

Now that it's so far in the past, it doesn't really matter. I appreciate your close eye on Scion and Restraal. If you have any other comments I would love to hear them. Restraal@gmail.com.

You were such a pain in the backside...I enjoyed watching and interacting with you on your varying levels of humility. You were adept at control and manipulation of conversations and people. To put it mildly...you made my head hurt...when I wasn't chuckleing over
something you said or did. It was a pleasure to interact with you on your various levels.

You whisper to Seoirse ' Tell the boss I'm here.'

People near you:

Restraal slowly sits down, mindful of his flowing robes.

Sythlindora tells you 'Do we gather to strike then?'

A wooden door opens.

You pray to the heavens for help!

You tell Sythlindora 'Speak with the Chancellor for now.'

Restraal brushes off his robes and slowly rises.

You bow before him.

Qaledus winks suggestively.

Qaledus closes a wooden door.

Qaledus says 'Don't bow too low, yer might break.'

Restraal: I am speaking with my Patron and do not wish to be disturbed until I give notice.

You say 'Greetings, greetings!'

Restraal chuckles softly to himself.

Qaledus smiles at you.

Restraal rubs his back, grimacing, then returns to a smile.

You have 50 gold, 4643 silver, and 3767 copper, which is worth 146627 copper.
You have 468500 experience and need 22700 more experience to gain a rank.

You say 'Well, first thing's first.'

You grumble distractedly to yourself.

You say 'I did not have time to stop by a money changer.'

You say 'I could do so if you wish...'

Qaledus shakes his head.

Restraal raises an eyebrow slightly.

Qaledus says 'I smelled it coming.'

You give Qaledus 4000 silver.

Restraal sloshes a huge bag of silver over the desk.

Qaledus rolls several silver coins across his knuckles, checking their weight.

Restraal inclines his head, grinning widely.

Qaledus says 'Feels right.'

You say 'Well, I think the weight of my gifts will make up for the weight of the silver.'

You tap your cheek, lost in thought.

You say to Qaledus 'Anything in particular you find yourself in the mood for, Qaledus?'

A wry little smile crosses Qaledus's face.

Qaledus says 'A ring!'

Qaledus grins evilly.

You say 'Ahhh...'

You say 'I carry so much that this may take a while.'

You say 'But I thought of such.'

You wink suggestively at Qaledus.

You say 'And brought something appropriate.'

Restraal chuckles softly to himself.

You give an embroidered seat cushion to Qaledus.

Qaledus blinks a few times.

You say 'The most fabulously expensive cushion I could gather.'

Qaledus says 'This..'

Restraal steps back, motioning for you to inspect the quality.

Qaledus says 'I am stunned by this cushion.'

Restraal sighs deeply, obviously pleased.

You give a fiery ring to Qaledus.

Qaledus shows his approval by clapping his hands together.

Qaledus wears a fiery ring on his right finger.

You say to Qaledus 'From the depths of the fire giant's inferno.'

Desmonn tells you 'Do let me know if he empties your puckered flesh.'

You say 'I thought perhaps you would enjoy it.'

You start keeping your reply to Desmonn.

Qaledus smiles happily.

Qaledus says 'I do.'

You tell Desmonn 'He's emptying it at the moment. I also need to speak with you.'

You tell Desmonn 'So don't go any where.'

Desmonn tells you 'I will be around.'

You say 'However.'

What's bothering you?

Qaledus says 'The giants are stupid, thuggish louts, but they make fine rings.'

Qaledus wears an embroidered seat cushion as a shield.

You say 'I thought you might like a bit more than that...'

Qaledus rubs his hands together in greedy anticipation.

You say 'So I thought...why pluck from the heart of an inferno...'

You say 'When you can pluck the hearts themselves.'

You raise an eyebrow at the notion.

You give the heart of a heart of a flame to Qaledus.

You give the heart of a heart of a flame to Qaledus.

You say to Qaledus 'So rare...so very, very rare, those...'

Qaledus says 'The heart of a heart of flame.'

You say to Qaledus 'I had to go through...well, quite a bit to procure them for you.'

You wink suggestively at Qaledus.

Qaledus says 'There are two heartless hearts burning somewhere this night.'

Qaledus laughs heartily.

Qaledus says 'I love these'

You say 'This old servant of yours is glad to hear it.'

Restraal bows slightly, grimacing.

Qaledus says 'And how are the eyes of my aged servant?'

You say 'They are quite well...in fact...'

Qaledus smiles, pleased with himself.

You say 'They inspired me a bit.'

You say 'I wish to reciprocate.'

You say 'If you don't mind.'

Restraal looks at you expectantly.

Qaledus says 'I don't see how.. but you may try..'

Qaledus raises an eyebrow.

You give an eye of a flame to Qaledus.

You give an eye of a flame to Qaledus.

You wink suggestively at Qaledus.

Qaledus laughs heartily.

Qaledus shows his approval by clapping his hands together.

You say 'Worth more than my old eyes, those. Quite a bit more.'

You say 'And much more saleable.'

Restraal bows again, chuckling this time.

Qaledus says 'No, no. A flame burns all it sees.'

Qaledus says 'Your eyes are worth more for they see things that make their way to me.'

Qaledus nods sagely.

Restraal chuckles softly to himself.

You say 'Speaking of things making their way to you.'

Qaledus holds an eye of the flame up and peers through it.

You say 'I managed to obtain a few other things.'

What's bothering you?

You say 'In the past, I had mentioned some of my gifts were so rare I thought them only legend.'

Restraal frowns again.

You say 'These next two are so rare...I hadn't even heard the legend.'

Kal'Fury, flail of the Hunt

Qaledus says 'Every legend has a bit of truth to it.'

Qaledus says 'Even me.'

Qaledus winks suggestively.

Restraal chuckles softly to himself.

Qaledus rubs his hands together in greedy anticipation.

Restraal brings out a wrapped staff, and winks.

Qaledus raises an eyebrow.

Qaledus sniffs at the air curiously.

You say 'The weapon of a master Warder...but there is a twist to the tale.'

You say 'I'll give you the staff to inspect before I tell of it.'

You give a bentwood staff to Qaledus.

You say to Qaledus 'I think you can agree that this Warder...knew a fine weapon when he saw one.'

Qaledus says 'You can see this staff?'

Holding up a bentwood staff, Qaledus nods.

You say to Qaledus 'However, you'll notice something odd about it. Especially for the weapon of a warder...'

You nod at Qaledus.

You say to Qaledus 'I can.'

His face bears the tan of recent travelling in sun-kissed lands, and offers
a perfect background to his piercing green eyes, aquiline nose and pearly

the suit of leather that he wears. The thin leather necklace about his neck
seems to be purely decorative, for it has no outward ornamentation. Of
average height and none too muscular, he carries himself with a measured

The Office
Central to the room is a large unfinished desk made of bristlecone wood.
The chair behind it is built from the same style of wood and is of simple
design, lacking any cushioning. Two chairs of similar make sit before the
desk. Upon the desk itself is a stack of vellum scrolls next to an inkwell
housing a rather flamboyant, if delicate, feathered quill. A plate of steel
shaped vaguely like a door is set in the eastern wall. The door leading into
the office is west.

]
A handsome man dressed in black stands here.

Qaledus says 'This is a most unusual staff.'

You say 'Indeed it is.'

You tap your cheek, lost in thought.

You say 'I thought it might catch your curiousity.'

Qaledus says 'What did you say you knew of it?'

You say 'It is the weapon of a failed member of an unfailable order.'

You whisper 'A Warder of old from the City that Was.'

Qaledus holds the staff to his appraising eye, which twinkles in its light.

You whisper 'Now, it is as bent and twisted as is the prison that holds him.'

You give a blackened cloak to Qaledus.

You whisper 'His vestment...now turned to black.'

You whisper 'Twisted and tormented as is the one who wore it.'

You whisper 'And extremely rare. Extremely...'

Qaledus says 'Hmf. Few of them have turned.'

You say to Qaledus 'All neatly packaged and delivered for you, my Patron.'

You give Qaledus a wide, toothy grin.

Qaledus smiles happily.

Qaledus stops using a faint aura of sinister shadows.
Qaledus wears a blackened cloak about his body.

Restraal chuckles softly to himself.

Restraal stands back, appraising you, and nods.

You say 'For my last gifts...'

Qaledus whispers something to a faint aura of sinister shadows.

Restraal chuckles softly to himself.

Qaledus rubs his hands together in greedy anticipation.

Qaledus says 'Yes, more!'

Qaledus rubs his hands together in greedy anticipation.

You say 'Much more.'

You say 'And gifts to make those pale.'

You wink suggestively at Qaledus.

Qaledus drools all over himself -- making a terrible mess!

You say 'I have managed to uncover...well, an instrument to make and weaver of words do just that...'

You say 'Drool on themselves trying to untwist their tongue to exclaim their marvel at such a thing.'

You say 'Perhaps one of the rarest and most sought-after instruments...'

You get the horn of valor from something special.

You give the horn of valor to Qaledus.

You wink suggestively at Qaledus.

Qaledus sighs, contented.

You say 'The craftmanship of that is only rivaled by the sound.'

Restraal grins widely, motioning for you to try.

Qaledus reads the inscription along the side of the horn, whispering quietly under his breath.

You flash a wide, toothy grin.

Qaledus chuckles politely.

Qaledus says 'I'm not bringing that here!'

You say 'This next gift...'

Qaledus laughs heartily.

Restraal chuckles softly to himself.

You say 'Forged by a master forger for the master of the forgers of the deep.'

You say 'Yzekon is perhaps unrivaled...'

You say 'But the gnomes who burrow and eat at the dark places have tried.'

You give a flawless two-headed Pickaxe named 'Earthquake' to Qaledus.

Qaledus shows his approval by clapping his hands together.

Restraal puts up a hand, dazzled by the torchlight on pure mithril.

Qaledus slowly counts the gems encrusting the pick-heads.

You say 'I imagine that you can find a buyer for that.'

You tap your cheek, lost in thought.

You say 'Or perhaps not.'

You say 'It's too valuable for most to own...only to dream of owning.'

Qaledus traces a finger along intricate carvings telling the story of the weapon's life and history.

Qaledus whispers 'There's me.'

Qaledus winks suggestively.

Restraal chuckles and nods at you.

You say 'Perhaps for the...private collection.'

Restraal looks at you quizzically, black eyes glittering.

Qaledus nods.

You say 'This next item...'

You say 'I thought perhaps you grow bored with baubles forged by mortal hands.'

Qaledus raises an eyebrow.

You say 'So I endeavored to seek something crafted by one of your...associated deities, lord.'

Qaledus blinks a few times.

You say 'It had to be something imbued with such power...'

You say 'Not simply infused with a mundane blessing.'

Restraal frowns turning something over in his hands.

Qaledus says 'Really? This I must have!'

You say 'Where can I find such a thing? said I.'

Qaledus tries to get a look at it.

You say 'The gods of these lands are jealous and guard closely their shrines.'

Qaledus nods sagely.

You say 'But then...after thinking long and hard, I knew what must be done.'

Qaledus says 'None so well as Seoirse, but they do.'

Qaledus nods sagely.

You say 'Perhaps the gods that watch the village are as boisterous and myopic as their charges, said I.'

You say 'So I traveled to the deep north. Deep, deep in the snows I came across a village of cloud giants.'

Qaledus starts to make unconcious pincer movements with his fingers.

You say quietly 'Charges of the Bear god...'

You say 'And I was rewarded for my search.'

Qaledus rubs his hands together in greedy anticipation.

You are thirsty.

Kimberly: Something weird is happening.

You say 'A priest there bore a totem, infused with such power of the Bear god...'

Restraal shivers slightly, then seems to snap out of it.

Akscereh: I am curious what the.. point behind such was

You give a small wooden bear totem to Qaledus.

Akscereh: *coughingly chortles for a time*

Qaledus says 'Yes! Yes!'

Glaring at you suspiciously, Qaledus blocks your view of something. What an ass.

You say 'I am loath to part with that...but such terrible power it has...'

Qaledus whispers something to a small wooden bear totem.

You say 'I knew that it must find its way back to the hands of its true owner...'

You say 'You.'

You cackle gleefully.

You are thirsty.

In a vain search for comfort, Qaledus hugs a small wooden bear totem to himself.

You say 'I managed to escape the village with that in tow...words still burned into my mind.'

You are thirsty.

You say 'If you ever find yourself indebted to the bear god...'

You wink suggestively at Qaledus.

Qaledus smiles happily.

You are thirsty.

You say 'I had hoped it would.'

You say 'Does it please you enough to allow me to irrigate your office?'

You blink several times.

Qaledus chuckles politely.

Qaledus nods.

You close your eyes and hum for an instant.
A magical spring flows from the ground.

You drink water from a magical spring.
The water quenches your thirst.

You say 'Disgusting needs we have, mortals.'

Qaledus sits on his desk, clutching a small wooden bear totem.

You say 'Finally.'

Qaledus says 'Better it water than elsewise.'

Qaledus winks suggestively.

You say to Qaledus 'Please, hold onto that. I have a feeling you can find a use for it should the Bear God come knocking.'

Gakken: Syth, Yer gonna learn with us.

You whisper to Qaledus 'The bear's name is Mr. Fluffikins...'

Qaledus winks suggestively at you.

You whisper to Qaledus 'A familiar of the Warlord. Mark that well, my Patron.'

Restraal straightens, eyes focusing.

You say 'For my final gift.'

You say 'I realized that totem would be difficult to top.'

What's bothering you?

Qaledus says 'More? Could there be more?'

Qaledus gasps in astonishment.

You say 'Indeed there is.'

You wink suggestively at Qaledus.

Gakken: Bard going to learn to distort.

You say 'However, you are the Patron of the...merchants...of this land.'

You say to Qaledus 'Not the bears and giants of the North.'

Qaledus chuckles politely.

You say 'As such, I thought perhaps something appropriately symbollic would be...well, appropriate.'

Qaledus says 'How symbollic!'

You say to Qaledus 'I have given you the finest dagger forged by the hands of elves...the Heartseeker.'

Restraal taps his cheek, black eyes glittering.

You say to Qaledus 'I thought perhaps that you could compelement that by the finest dagger forged by the drow.'

Qaledus raises an eyebrow.

You say to Qaledus 'A dagger so terrible in scope and enchantment that elves weep at its very name.'

Qaledus says 'Do they make a blade sharper than their tongues?'

Qaledus laughs at himself with an amused grin.

You say to Qaledus 'I'll let you be the judge.'

You wink suggestively at Qaledus.

You say to Qaledus 'So dark and steeped in shadows is this blade, that it resembles Yourself in the noonday sun.'

You wink suggestively at Qaledus.

Qaledus says 'Handsome, is it?'

Qaledus flexes his muscles.

You say to Qaledus 'As such, both elves, drow, and men have given it an appropriate name...'

You get the Shadow Dagger from something special.

You give the Shadow Dagger to Qaledus.

Restraal bows a final time, grimacing.

Qaledus whispers 'Now this is legendary.'

Qaledus hums a little tune.

You whisper 'Extremely.'

A magical spring flows from the ground here.
A handsome man dressed in black stands here.

Qaledus locks a wooden door.

Qaledus says 'Let us speak of this other matter between us.'

Restraal peers to the door, then to you.

Qaledus says 'The one She cannot know of.'

You say 'As you wish, my Patron. I have matters to speak to you of as well.'

You say 'That is the subject on my mind indeed.'

Qaledus nods sagely.

Restraal chuckles softly to himself.

Restraal frowns slightly, suddenly seeming much older.

Qaledus nods.

Qaledus says 'It is still on the island you seek to go?'

Restraal nods, black eyes glittering.

You say 'It is ever on my mind, my Patron. It grows, and grows...'

Qaledus nods slowly.

Qaledus hums a little tune.

You say 'I will not live out my life until I am but a husk.'

You say 'My last companion of childhood chose the Furnace.'

Qaledus says 'Granaak.'

Restraal nods, eyes blank.

You say to Qaledus 'I will not choose the Furnace.'

Qaledus says 'His ashes dusted Aturi like snow not long ago.'

Qaledus says 'It was brief.'

Qaledus hums a little tune.

Qaledus whispers 'To be mortal.'

You say to Qaledus 'By hook or crook, by fair or force, I will be on that island and soon.'

You whisper 'So clear, the waters...so bright, the sun.'

Restraal nods slowly.

Qaledus taps his cheek, obviously deep in thought.

Qaledus says 'Now, then, I have spoken the Empress.'

Restraal shakes his head.

You nod at Qaledus.

Qaledus says 'I am.. loathe.. to lose such a faithful servant.'

Qaledus says 'But, better to have you there than a thin film across the roof above.'

Qaledus coughs loudly.

You say 'You can always call upon me, my Patron. I hope you will choose to walk the sands and enjoy the sun and drink with me.'

Qaledus says 'Certain assurances have been made, some questionable and likely retractable promises.'

Desmonn tells you 'I trust you are doing well then?'

Qaledus scratches his ear.

You say 'I can almost taste the yoke loosening on my shoulders...taste the wine...and women.'

You say 'Not your yoke, of course. I speak of the other thing...'

Restraal chuckles softly, and winks.

Qaledus paces up and down irritably.

Qaledus stops.

Qaledus sighs.

Qaledus says 'The island is yours.'

Qaledus smiles happily.

Restraal bows and grins widely.

You say 'My thanks, my thanks!'

Qaledus says 'There are some inhabitants. Poor wretches that are being relocated.'

Qaledus says 'Into the ocean.'

Qaledus coughs loudly.

You cackle gleefully.

You say 'Better them than me.'

Qaledus chuckles politely.

You say 'I will take possession of it then as soon as I can finish my business on these mortal lands.'

You say 'Unless there were other matters to be attended?'

Qaledus shakes his head.

You say 'My plan was to occupy it, as I say, by hook or crook two days hence.'

Qaledus reaches out and clasps your hand.

You say 'However...'

Qaledus says 'Our deal is done.'

Restraal shakes your hand, bowing his head.

You say 'No, my Patron.'

You say 'I will always be your servant.'

You say 'Even in retirement.'

You say 'For serving you is serving myself.'

Qaledus nods.

You say 'And I would not have it any other way.'

the Archmage of Eternal Night: The shadows gather to fill the void as Muuloc leaves us.

Qaledus says 'Then I leave you to conclude your mortal business.'

You say 'If I may...'

Qaledus says 'Stuff your flesh with what you'll need.'

Qaledus winks suggestively.

You say 'Two days hence, when I take possession of the island...'

You say 'I don't suppose you will be up and about.'

You say 'I did have a way to thank you in the works...'

Qaledus says 'I would think that I will.'

You say 'One last thing I could do.'

You say 'But I would need your help.'

Your eyes no longer pierce the shroud of invisibility.

Beidal tells you 'Hail.'

Qaledus says 'We'll see what we will see.'

You say 'You and I have worked so long in skullduggery I thought perhaps we could try an experiment in alchemy.'

You tell Desmonn 'Quite well.'

Beidal tells you 'I am having troubles using the prayer to gate to other people.'

Qaledus says '..Alchemy..'

Desmonn tells you 'Good.'

Qaledus taps his cheek, obviously deep in thought.

Beidal tells you 'It says my attempts fail, I am in seantryn.'

You say 'My plan was to conduct the experiment in the form of an auction.'

Restraal motions to his various finery and winks.

Qaledus chuckles politely.

You say 'This will not be needed where I go. But gold...well.'

You say 'Gold is always a nice thing to have, for us both.'

You give Qaledus a wide, toothy grin.

Qaledus chuckles politely.

You say 'I had thought to hold an auction, if I could find a bard to send the note.'

Beidal tells you 'Any ideas as to what I am doing wrong?'

You say 'If you would preside, I would be...well willing to give you your cut, as well as honored.'

You tell Beidal 'Mmm...'

Qaledus says 'I would be honored.'

You tell Beidal 'Where in that dark city are you, mmm?'

You say 'Very good, very good.'

You say 'I also wish to work in Mr. Kinnt.'

Qaledus says 'To receive a cut in any auction.'

Beidal tells you 'On the Nightshade road and Devil's Ivy Street.'

Restraal chuckles softly to himself.

You say 'Of course you would in any case.'

Qaledus says 'Does he know of your impending retirement?'

You say 'He knows I grow weary.'

You say 'He will know soon, however.'

You say 'Until I heard about the island, I did not wish to say too much.'

Qaledus says 'Unless we tell him the auction is simply a task set before you to gain something.'

You tell Beidal 'To what are you trying to open a gate?'

Beidal tells you 'Another person'

Qaledus says 'We can't have Her suspecting anything either.'

You tell Beidal 'You are able to harm him, mmm?'

You nod.

Beidal tells you 'Aye.'

You say 'I was thinking of having the scroll be anonymous.'

You say 'And having him be the proxy to receive and deliver the goods.'

The water quenches your thirst.

Qaledus says 'Ah, an excellent plan.'

You say 'He wishes the epiderm of Tiamat that I have been holding.'

You wink suggestively at Qaledus.

Qaledus says 'His trustworthiness notwithstanding.'

You say 'I think he will be trustworthy enough with that in tow.'

Qaledus nods.

You say 'And, after all, it will be your gold as well as mine at stake.'

Beidal tells you 'No idea?'

You say 'As I plan to split it down the middle with you.'

You tell Beidal 'Where is he?'

Qaledus says 'Then let us plan for this two nights from this one?'

You nod at Qaledus.

You tell Desmonn 'Care to join me at the bar?'

Desmonn tells you 'A moment.'

Qaledus nods slowly.

You say 'Will you preside over the auction, Patron?'

You say 'Who knows...perhaps nothing will sell.'

You say 'In which case...you will have the treasures for your time.'

Qaledus says 'I can hold the auction, yes.'

You tell Lophiel 'I wish to commission a scroll. Are you available?'

You say 'Now I just have to convince a bard that really, I'm a good guy.'

Good times. I liked Restraal.. but then again what's not to like about a healer who wants to go with you to whoop the piss out of people in the fort. Well done sir!

Cheers.

Who just tore people up and was always ready for more. Every once in a while I just needed to let all my support-class repressed rage vent through some brutal Maran/Trib beatings, which I was more than happy to get vicariously through you.

You don't rescue? You bastard!

Jeez, where to start. Deleting Restraal was horrible, it felt like I was losing a friend. However, I felt like I had accomplished pretty much everything I set out to accomplish with him. Between that, my connection difficulties, and just not having the energy to continue, I thought it was time to go. Scion is in what I think of as its fourth generation since I began. We've been up, down, up, and now down again--sorry guys, I didn't have the juice to work with you all pull us up again. But it'll happen--it always does.

This is the first healer or support character I've played, but I'm at the stage of my cf career where I like to try something different each time and thought what the heck! Let me tell you, the people who think healers are easy, boring characters are just plain wrong. Personally after playing Restraal for nigh on 500 hours, I still feel there were lots of things I could be doing more efficiently, more things to learn. After playing Restraal for so long, healers to me are the thinking man's class. There is so much more than just sanc/co rejuv to be good at a healer it's silly. You need to know when to fight, when to LEAD the fights, when to stand back, when to wait out of the room, when to heal, when to word, when to use lifeshield, when to group teleport, when to word yourself vs flee, when to strike first, when to wait, when to curse, when to lash or use an item to lag...Add to this my compulsive need to lead groups, and you also need to be able to chase, direct the actions of your groupmates and the equation becomes extremely, extremely complex. I guess that is why I chose to surround myself with a core group of what Restraal would call lackeys or flunkies. They learned to work with me, and did what they needed to do when they needed to do it. I didn't have to tell them to rescue me at a certain point and not rescue at others (this is just one example)...they would just know, just like I would know how long they wanted to stay and fight, vs when they wanted me to get them the hell outta there. Thanks to everyone in this group.

I tried my damndest to make Restraal somewhat of a throwback to my entropy days. He always viewed himself as a pragmatist, a broker of rare information and knowledge, but deep down was mischievous and too wild to fully follow through on these ideals. As a healer of Qaledus, I tried to evolve over time. As a young Scion, I tried to make a stand to the elders (Dreaa/Muuloc/Taidyn/Eshval etc) and let them know that if they wanted my help, they damn well better find a way to pay me for it. As I grew older and became Advisor, my focus shifted from making people pay me for my trouble (and hence causing abrasive personality clashes), to making Scions and my 'flunkies' so dependent on me that they would just naturally want to keep me happy and give me tribute they knew I wanted. All in all, I was pretty happy with how it turned out.

The extreme false-modesty thing stemmed from my first interview with Eshval when I told her I was arrogant and didn't care. I was rebuked a bit for it, and since then thought it would be fun to act arrogant, but always claim to be the most fabulously modest priest out there. I loved the opportunity to be acerbically sarcastic and pithy at every turn, and I think most of the people I interacted with 'got it' and liked it as well. The fact that my enemies eventually picked up on my references to Scion as 'my flock' and started calling me the 'dark shepherd' and referring to Scion as 'my flock' I really enjoyed, as it made me feel like I was having a real impact on Scion and Scion's relationship with Thera.

Thanks to everyone for the good times. More to come later.

This was always a fun character to observe, and put a nice spotlight on Qaledus's religion. Restraal came up at a time when a few people were in the hat for a leadership position, and I think the decision came down to "This character would be three times as entertaining with arbitrary, ominous power at his disposal." Feeding Restraal's bloated ego was fun as well.

Behind the self-absorbed Trump-esque pomposity, however, was a healer many people didn't want to mess with. Restraal was good about making the people around him better without falling into the flunky role, which was nice to see in a Scion healer.

Well what more could I add? I had a great time traveling with you and appreciate you showing me all this obvisouly veteran player..stuff. Now more than likely it was because you needed my swords, but that is still okay.

But, you were an awful pain to deal with sometimes. I was hoping my imm comments may have mentioned the number of times I just sat somewhere spamming "cranial restraal" after one of our exchanges..only to stop right before you walked in (sorry about that one time, I just had to knock you out).

So many just plain old weird things happened when we traveled, I hope your imm comments hit on some of this stuff. Weapons vanishing, people I've killeds gear just up and being gone and then returned to them later, Immortal controled NPC's aiding our enemies who already outnumber us. Just plain old..fun =)

If you can post some of our encounters with the Tribunal that would be great, I did not figure out how to log whole sessions until much later and I still forgot to turn it on often.

Anyway, great job.

Granaak.

ps Was it the throw rug or the end table that sealed the deal? hahaha.
