#34053, "[BATTLE] Jurt the Legend of the Battlefield"

Where to start, I guess the main reason I deleted due to the lack of RP. I broke character a few times, and I hate it when I do, it ruins the character for me. One of the main problems I encounted with Jurt was that it was in his role to be a very smart individual, even for a Gnome. The problem is though I as a person am not that intelligent, so it become quite difficult to RP it. Also, Jurt was ment to be clear headed all the time, not let emotions rule his decisions, this too, as a player I had little control over. I got angry and annoyed at times, and this came through my character, which it shouldn't have.

In terms of PK though, it was awesome. People underestimate Gnome Warriors, so many times I went into a fight and the other person would wield a mace, or crushing axe and simply bash. All too late they were the ones being tripped and dying. My main problem with Jurt, was he lacked any means to lag. If I re-rolled him, I'd take axe over mace, and find light axes. I will give Jurt this though, he was one tough little tacker. He might not kill all that often, and he might not be a powerful, but he was damn hard to kill. I can't count the number of times I got out a fight and thought to myself, damn I should have died there.

Anyway, onto farewells.

Phaelim: I'm not quite sure what to say, I don't know whether you liked me, or were simply tolerating me. I have never followed an IMM with an non-empoweree character, and I've always wanted to. Problem is, I have trouble finding reasons to go pray to Gods, unless I specifically want empowerment, or something as obvious. I loved our talks however, you seem more laid back, and... hmm, how can I explain it. You don't act as though you're so much better than mortals, you don't have that arrogance. I knew I could come and speak to you about anything, just have a conversation, and not get some "Why do I care about your problems and weakness, Mortal!?!" type response.

The Village:

Iborenn; if my PBF gets paid for, you should check out my role, I've got a chapter in there about you. You're one tough Drow though. Well done.

Huindro/Yintrik; sorry about getting you two killed so often. So many times we'd go in, I'd get out, and you'd be dead. Good times. Hang in there Huidnro.

Alathin; hang in there! It seems everytime you die you just quit right out again.

Ahk; pity I never got to fight beside you, we had some nice CB talks though.

Brr, I know there were more Villagers than you five. Sorry for those I forgot.

Scions:

Hylondin; I was so tempted to take up your offer, I love those sorts of twists. However, I could not see anyway I could do it without breaking my role horrendously. You are one tough bitch, and I learnt a lot from you. Thanks for all the good fights.

Granaak; the only non-hand spec Warrior (except for that one fight with Growlow, I think) who could defeat me. You are one tough mofo, and damn that pet pest of yours! I reckon I could've escaped almost everytime from you, if not for that thing.

Amficuta; is that how it's spelt? You annoyed the ^%&%$^ out of me. Trap/jack/steal. At least that was all you could do. I would tell you to turn up more, but honestly, I was happier with you gone.

Tribunals:

Mela; you have it tough, not being able to sing in town, still you managed. I think you stole more weapons from me than anyone, including the Thieves. Awesome RP, keep up the good work.

Lora; I got you! I got you! I was litterly dancing in my seat that time I killed you. Great character, I love your RP, your characters logic and think is simply beatiful. You've got a really bad rep in the Village, but you're very skilled, in more than just PK, and I hope everyone else sees it.

Others:

Growlow; we didn't talk much, or fight much, but you're cool.

Wungar; naughty, naughty Dwarf, we had some good talks.

The Horde of Shifters, too many to mention individually, plus I rarely see your names; good fights, I love fighting shifters more than any other class. Jurt's warrior build was ideal for slaughtering them. Break the bones, make them bleed, cranial (no helms, yay!) and if they flee, hope they die on revert/bleeding.

Bah, I know I'm forgetting tons, as mentioned before, tell me and I'll reply.

Anyway, I think I'll return to my sleazy, evil bastards. They're easier to RP (I have a lot of RL experience ), and I enjoy them more. Thanks all.

Didn't get to spend a lot of time around you, but anyone who heroes a gnome warrior is in my mind worth mentioning. Always like have a dagger spec around for the bleeding when raids and such come about. Anyhow, well played from what I saw. Good luck with the next.

I always think gnomie warriors got huge sacks. So same goes for you. I had one a long time ago, and I know how rough it gets. I never tried pummeling you, but thats just cause Klendalstak loves his axes. I did enjoy your flame about shackles on the forum. At any rate, nice char, and good luck with your next.

Wasn't anything personal against you. Actually, your skill with them was what made me complain. I've fought shackles before, and the Vindicator never tried for the blind/rescue trick. Hated the shackles, but otherwise liked Klend, good job.

Good rager from what I saw, Don't let the hangups get you down, most of us have had numerous villagers to learn and adapt to some of the #### you've got to go through.

Anyhow, well done........SHINKICKER

That was pretty great.

Naughty dwarf? Small advice for you next chars dude, don't attack a maran paladin, then kill goodie mobs in front of him, even if they are guards who attacked you and not expect the paladin to do something, if they didn't do something that would be irrational. aside from your getting worked up over that you seemed interesting. You obviously were taking a very hard tack on phaelims religion and I pointed out your flaw in our talks but hey I am having the same problem with fortress. Good luck with your next

Cei... something (the Emporer); I enjoyed our fights, but god damn is sigil plus hand to hand spec painful. You have it tough at the moment, I tried to get more fights, but someone like Karrel would always swoop down and annoy you. That really got on my nerves actually.

Oni... damn this new targetting system, makes me lazy (The Healer Provost); don't know if you knew it, but we both followed Phaelim. I thought I'd keep it to myself for a bit. You seem determined to stop this Tribunal/Village War, whereas I was determined to have it. I enjoyed harassing Tribs, and they seemed to be my biggest enemy, with Empire empty, and Scion either no where to be seen, or roaming in massive packs. Anyway, I'm sure I could've destroyed a few more shields, and dented other assorted things.

Glaurthran; we had some interesting talks, and I still think you should take up that offer. Did I mention I hate Hand Specs?

Romasurn; I never knew if you were on or not, except for when I first logged on with "This Giant greets you". You could go hours without becoming visible, but I guess that's what makes a good Ranger.

Karashin; when I first saw you, I thought "Ugh, a Jinroh wannabe", but you turned out to be pretty cool. Hang in there.

Zhar... something (Another Fire Giant Scion Warrior); I really enjoyed our fights, it's always an uphill fight for me vs. hand specs, but I loved the way you stuck around. Made it easier for me in terms of you bleeding, and me bandaging.

Restraal; yeah, what I said did have OOC undertones, but I was annoyed at the time. I'm not accusing you or anyone of cheating, but at times it does seem like Scion all pops on together. Those times were the least enjoyable for me, because everyone else logs out, to avoid the Scion Squad, and I'm left dodging it, or logging out myself. My only advice for you, being the Advisor, is make the Cabal raid more! I know the big D is tough, but I think in my entire time in the Village, I had to retrieve twice. Once from you, the other from the Spire. Honestly, we're walking corpses without the Head, and I couldn't understand why people didn't take it more. Anyway, I enjoyed the talks we had, and I too wish we could have continued them. Good luck.

I hope I haven't forgotten anyone else, I'm sure I have, so I'll post a third thread if need be.

If I knew the entire village I knew was deleting I might have stuck around to be the old guy nobody knew. And most of that time of you not seeing me was trying to get fastcamo back from all those damned raids. It was a wierd collection of folks in battle, and I am somewhat glad all those I liked deleted around my same time. That way I don't have to be jealous of you all having fun and whipping some mage ass. Hehe. Have fun on the next Jurt.

Do you remember that time we were in the Orc Village, trying to get the head back, and you managed to become incapaciated?

Whilst you were lying there, I did a bunch of yelling and random emotes. Things like rifling through your pockets for herbs, and then I grabbed a bunch of random leaves and flowers off nearby plants and jammed them into your throat. Next thing I know "A wandering Druid gives Romasurn some benefical herbs." I look around, and see no one, so I just RPed it out like it was me. Was pretty cool though.

Thanks whichever IMM did that, fun stuff like that just makes my day

Wow. Man..so glad you remembered that. You don't understand how confused I was. I was almost sure you had used magic of some kind, or you had some neato hidden tricks up your little gnome sleeves. That raid sucked. Badly. I agree though, very cool of the imm, or "wandering druid" in this case to do things like that. Thanks for clearing up that mystery. Just had me scratching my head on that one.

Anyways, I enjoyed our fights although it was a bit of a tough situation for one of us to die, good luck on your next one and see you in the fields.

I've only gotten good going-away comments from one or two people in my time, and this tops those. I appreciate that, a lot. It definately gives some motivation.

As for Jurt, I'd have nothing but good things to say. When we talked, you had your view, which was always steadfast. And of course, Lora is the same way. I could definately tell you tried to do things smarter. Sometimes I'd just think, gosh, I wish he'd come out and face the bad odds. But that'd obviously be stupid, lol. You were gutsy and skilled. Definately look forward to seeing what you come up with next, as you are a good addition--->and believe me, not everyone is! lol

As for the fight when I died. Whew. I just realized how many things went wrong for me, and how many went right for you. But thats how warriors are meant to be played. I think if you won everytime, it'd be boring. Or vice versa.

P.S. Wrathing maces hurt.

P.P.S. A lot

Good luck

I wish we could of had some more battles, so I could learn even more. You don't know how many times I'd go and review our one on one hour long fights. Jurt will be missed good luck with the next. Oh... and I'm sure I did steal more weapons from you than any thief would have. But, hey I have to use what skills I can!

See you in the fields!

Liked Jurt, but pissed me off when you got whiney about someone telling the commander and veterans about your wanting to give the scepter to a non-villager. You shouldn't care that someone says what happens, you should care about the actions that are talked about, I think. To make it worse you just started assuming who said what, and when you learned you were wrong you'd just move on to the next person on your list, and you'd be mad each time as though you were 100% sure it was them - until you learned otherwise, then you were 100% it was the next guy, and so forth.

Just like everyone else though it was fun to watch a gnome warrior kick ass. Good work on that score for sure.

Was because he got into quite a big of heat about it, and it turns out whoever told the story didn't tell it properly. So I get blasted by various Villagers about it, I then tell them the full story, and they agree with my thoughts on the issue.

I wanted to know who would go out of their way to give a half-hearted, or one-sided view of what happened, simply to get Jurt into trouble. To Jurt, the Village was ment to be a lot about trust, and this didn't show it. Sorry if I got a bit up tight on the issue, this probably falls under "no emotion" role violation, and I'm not too proud of it.

Anyway, good luck with Vershelt, and kick some Magi arse for me.

I will say however, when I first saw you (I think on the way to the Fort to retrieve) I thought, wield mace;wield mace and cranial and then either in four rounds he'll be dead or he'll run to the shrine and I can move on...wow was I surprised when you were actually beating on me! After that I never underestimated you and I came to like the little guy. Anytime you were around I tried to make sure to give you a good one vs one fight, more as a show of respect than anything. Job well done.

My first reaction to seeing a gnome warrior in my pk is to laugh, I don't know why, but thats just the way it is. In your hands however, it wasn't such a laughing matter. You did well. I enjoyed our few, little chats. You did well to even get that much out of Onirakoth, he is not what you would call talkative. Most people that talk to me (especially the way you did) just never get a response. It always sucks to see villagers delete when Battle is in the state it is now, I would have liked to see where things would have gone with you, the Village, and the Spire. Take care and best of luck in whatever is next, assuming there is one.

I was extremely surprised at how effective a Gnome warrior can be.. Several times like you said I saw opponents with hands/maces or axes attack you expecting quick victory.. and you turning the tide.

Overall I liked Jurt alot from an RP standpoint, and the Phaelim thing rings true. Good luck with the next.

I liked most of what I saw. You peeked my curiousity when you said you didn't actually like fighting. I wanted to speak with you more on the subject, but didn't get the chance.

My only negative comment is that I'm not an imm, and reporting suspected rules infringements to me just puts me in an awkward bind IC. Report complaints regarding logins/logouts to the imms rather than to cabal leaders. I can't exactly say 'Scions X, Y, and Z: stop awaking and slumbering at the same time. Thanks much love.'

I can relate to your comments about breaking role and losing the feel for the character.

I am eternally grateful for the levels I got with you. Without Jurt and Romasurn, Drahke would probably have deleted out of frustration in the early fourties. Thanks a lot! You were kinda relaxed about the using magic thing. I assumed you took the pity the weaklings approach rather than making a big fuss about it.

As for battle defenders, I would definitely like one, one day!

I am looking forward to dealing with your sleazy bastard in one form or another...
