Kinda got stuck in the same rut as I did with Optomkiptum where I left it for a while for RL things then it just didn't feel as comfortable wearing my Kaerdil suit afterwards.
After Grurk immorted, I had to try his religion. This was my first paladin and I was awful with it. At first, I found my over-powering virtues would let me kick butt... then I got to hero What I wanted to accomplish was basically get some insight into Grurks religion, try out my hand at dwarven RP (since I live in Scotland, I figured I could be the best 'scottish dwarf syndrom' sufferer you ever did see) and mess with paladins. I think the most I got was about 2 of those. Grurks religion was a bit of a let down. Guess I can summarise why in the lack of immteraction. From what I could tell, I was doing great and he seemed -kinda- pleased since I got tatted and got GREAT virtues (a big thanks for that) but after that it seemed to tail off. A combination of me failing completely to succeed in this questy thing and then not appearing for a while afterwards seem to make everything go cold. I guess only two real questions remain...
Who did the questy thing and why did it just 'stop' like that, when I couldn't find the healer?
How come you killed everyone but me? Seems like lots of people got awesome Grurk love sessions, yet the most I got was a 2 second appearance for you to tell me I was doing wonderfully and tatt me. I would have loved to get reborn, sheesh. Thats just the kind of crazy RP person I am.
That asside, I had a great time. Running with dwarves, trying some pathetic Third Brigade start-up and so on... I spent most of my time giggling behind the keyboard and teasing elves. I hope no one got offended by the swearing and insults. Especially when I died, I'd often while away the time till Vengeance by hurling curses. Time for Goodbyes, if I forgot you... reply damn it.
Grurk - Great job immorting, you were fun as a mortal but I guess I didn't get to see you much in the light of 'divine grurkication'. Good luck in future, mate.
Vynmylak - Thanks loads for picking up on that whole 'ears' thing. I didn't get much chance to RP that out, and with you appearing like that I was just thinking 'w00tage!' Thanks loads. Sorta wanted to become a Maran after that but I couldn't find a way to squeeze my way into the cabal without losing pride. The whole, hunt alone thing, and all.
Gragnar - Ah, kinda romantic. You, me and a cask of ale were all I needed for a real good session. Glad your got a fair bit out of the religion though I have to agree, those messages from on high about those rocky things was kinda confusing :S I loved your Dwarf RP and its great when you socialise with other dwarves to spread around all your different dwarfy views into one dwarf ball of dwarfyness. If it was one word I could use to describe our relationship, it'd be dwarfy.
Karosh - Great running with you too! Basically, the same dwarfyness I was getting from Gragnar. Shame I didn't get the whole third brigade thing going. Was kinda jealous of your Maranishness too. The bastard of the matter was, since a few of my friends were marans I'd always get drawn into helping them defend in one way or another. I thought uncaballed people weren't meant to get drawn into that kind of stuff but it happened a lot and resulted in me dying a few times in situations I'd hoped I wouldn't have to be in. Ah... all part of being a Paladin.
Yhetan - Good ally, were always flying around looking for the PK buzz. And hey, I'm good for some pk love.
Shazmin - The only kill I was really proud of. Thanks for not teleporting
Muuloc - Irritating tactics. Smart shaman player and likely the best for killing me.
Empire - Not going there. Uncaballed people get seriously hurt by you. Finding ways to twist uncaballed people into your ganks is nasty. All I needed was stunning and I'd awake to find myself as good as dead.
Urog - Well played, I know you couldn't really kill me solo, so you did what a thief does. Damn it. Oh, and nice fight on the docks. I was kicking myself when flight fell just as I did that holy word. Grrrr.
Mlyarir - Somehow, not as dangerous as Muuloc. You just ran and hid in the Palace. Another problem with being uncaballed is people hide in their cabals, you can't do crap.
Raik - I see your still alive and kicking. Go you! That voice got annoying but everything else was a hoot. You kick started my 'gear whore' phase at the beginning of my hero life, but I'm glad I got over it. Damn, getting all that swanky gear only to get it ganked out of me was frustrating. I had to learn to let go of those hopes real fast.
Acaga - Good fights. Annoyed me you were always well-equipped and ready to axe me with un-disarmable stuff. But hey, so it goes.
Others - Sheesh, I'm so high on memories here I can't think of others. I'll likely add as people reply.
One last word on Paladins, although I didn't play the ideal 'paladinly paladin' by using the bad-tempered, anger filled dwarf I was VERY proud that I stuck closer to the code than most. There's oddly a lot of paladins who just don't pay enough attention to what they kill. So many see them as just 'mobs' and as long as they aren't waving a flag that says 'an immortal will slay you for killing me' you just hit it. I never killed anyone or anything without due reason. All other things, I could request easily. Its seriously not only possible but now even fun. I RPed paying random request mobs back with favours and so on after requesting. I even often handed them coins in return depending on how hard done by I was at the time. Anyone who can't do these kinds of basic things, just isn't a paladin.
And Odrirg, if you are reading this, screw you - I can't believe you got to his religion first AND did a better paladin. Bastard! You were one of my reasons for rolling a dwarf and I still miss Odrirg today.
Yhorian, Optomkiptum, Huromhaur, Yurrike, blah, blah... stuff. And now Kaerdil, Apprentice of the Molten Circle

Whaa? Whereabouts you living in Scotland?

I'm under the impression that Grurks been busy is all, i didn't particularly get any mega interaction that you may have been under the impression i had. (similarly i don't believe i really created any "hooks" for grurk to get on). I didn't have any expectations of course so i was happy.
>Gragnar - Ah, kinda romantic. You, me and a cask of ale were >all I needed for a real good session. Heh, Gragnar loved you. You quite happily ignored or made space for his recalcitrant nature instead of challenging everything. This was the perfect relationship, i could be grumpy and you wouldn't take it personally. When i first considered deletion i actually considered that first and foremost it would be a let down to Kaerdil.
I felt we matched wavelengths and could pick up stuff from each other. I liked where you were trying to take the third brigade because i too was interested in greater kinship among dwarves and felt that the third brigade would be an excellent angle to follow that up. Character wise though i was somewhat backwards to the idea because i felt setting up an organisation was contrary to Grurks religions.

With each character I keep thinking 'hey, what can I do for the MUD?'
With Huromhaur, I tried to set a very high standard for Minotaur RP.
With Optomkiptum, I wanted people to take Tribunal seriously without 'not having fun'. I demand I think that one worked!
With Kaerdil, I was almost horrified at how the Orcs seemed more friendly and groupy that the dwarves. I was determined to change it and the Third Brigade looked like a little club dwarves could sign up for. So, I tried to do it. Unfortunately, things came up... my absence... my loss of the 'buzz' (tm) and I failed horribly.
I think people sometimes take grumpy characters too seriously. We were both good-aligned but that hardly means we can't be grumpy and purposefully miserable. I used to insult elves, but it doesn't mean I'm about to twat them over the head with my hammer.
One great case I remember was with someone in the Inn (elsworth?) who decided they'd hug me. Everyone in the inn hugs and this dwarf wasn't taking ####. So, I gave them a warning, buffed up the spikes on my armour. What did they do? They planned a route through the spikes and hit me. Now, I'm almost certain it was Elsworth, Captain of the Maran. Did this matter right now? No. Elsworth fargin' hugged him, and I wacked him one. Thankfully, everyone around understood I wasn't out to kill Elsworth but I made it very clear there was a difference between fighting and killing. We really did connect on points like that and I almost hoped one day we'd get in a scruff anyhow It would have bee n my pleasure to whack gragnar on the head

Super roleplay. First thing that comes to mind.
Kinda like what happened with Grangar.. I was playing alot at night, and then suddenly I wasn't. So again, we had some playtime overlap issues which affected the amount of Imm interaction I could give out.
The problem being one of the first few to do something, is that it's just that: new. There were things I didn't do with my first empowerees/tatted folks because frankly I hadn't thought it up yet. =)
Anyways, I really liked Kaerdil and Opt-thebum! Look forward to seeing your next.

Likely getting sleep so you can work on better things.
I just kinda got confused, the silence tends to drive me crazy :S
Thanks loads for the shot at your religion anyways. Who knows, maybe we'll bump into each other in another life. Just watch for that great RP coming back again

Oh man, when I had Jerroa going I kinda looked to you as a guiding force. We had some talks, and I really enjoyed your view on the RP. You basically put my dwarven accent to shame . Look forward to seeing you in the fields again.
