Didn't see eye-to-eye at *all* IC, but you certainly stuck to your role and stuff. I personally think such IC conflicts are *very* cool, wish there were more of them, especially with those of The Fire.

Just out of curiosity, how do you feel about Neutral Paladins? For me, the very essence of Paladinhood is so steeped in Lawful Good (Yes, lawful, not orderly) behavior that law breaking is unthinkable.

For instance, if a paladin sees his arch-enemy walking down the street in tow, he *must* stay his hand if the Laws demand he do so because of the strict adherance to the Laws and his Code, as well as his image as a champion of the people, in a non-vigilantee sort of way.

I did with my chars when Zorszaul ran rampant in the cities. The only yells I ever wanted to hear then were his death knells (yeah, not bloody ####ing likely) as he was hacked down in the middle of main street by a paladin who said, "Enough of your ####, mo' ####ie"

I guess I find it difficult to justify providing any sanctuary/quarter for evil, when the entirety of your life is predicated on the erradication of that evil, in no uncertain terms. So it was more of a "Am I keeping within the bounds of the oath I swore" over "What are my peers going to think?" Either way, it was quite enjoyable interacting with you throughout that whole thing, though admittedly frustrating, since my limited options of recourse left me with my #### in my hand. Oh well.

Heh, I'll try that next time I go after a criminal. Left a few in market square, though none of that caliber.

Hence my IC remark about "We are not shamans who can create food." I think chars like yours and Celebrimbor are cool, though they seem closer to a shaman sort of view. What made you guys paladins instead of shamans, in your opinion?

Sorry, didn't want to frustrate you. Paladins focus on different darts of the code based on their RP, so I guess that's the answer though I am curious about the thought processes behind neutral paladins.

Mayby I need to do one....

This char started off realy well, so I'm not sure what exactly happened. Boredom, most likely.

Vyn: Thanks for empowerment, virtues, tat, and maran. I didn't really deserve any of them.

Blitz: Very well played.

Scharnz: The end of this post should answer your question.

Ryldain: Luck to you.

Audriel and Celebrimbor: Head and tails of the same coin. You were both a good bit of fun to run around with, thanks.

Ahh well. Too much with this char just didn't sit right with my playing style. Hopefully I'll find something more enjoyable down the road.

The Fort took a huge blow with Celebrimbor and now you.....I really thought you would be the best Captain after the crazy elf. Scharnz had a fetish for dwarves but I would have liked you either way. After I deleted I rolled up something new and was lvl 1 and sitting in Galadon listening to three hero imperials chit-chat and all of a sudden I see 'Jalecan disappears suddenly', I run to the locked room and I see you standing over his corpse. I fell off my chair laughing and trying not to break character with my lvl 1 stud.

You were great to travel with and embodied paladinesque behavior by not letting other people get things for you etc..

As for the play style i thought you were ready to put it all on the line yet you had something to lose most of the time unlike Scharnz. That seems like a good style to me.
I'm having the same problem though trying to find something that I enjoy playing.
Anyway I really hope there is a next for you. Good luck with everything.

Well I liked Thenrek alot you Rp'd well with Elijsie, and actually were fun to talk to. I thought Thenrek fought well when I watched him in the shadows. Good luck with the next.

following our duel. I also found the conversation quite entertaining, a rather good back-and-forth of philosophies that I don't think either of us necessarily had a difinitive means of pressing upon the other. I was hoping for more of that, but spent most of the latter hours dealing with scions and imperials, and generally not enjoying the character.

I really liked Thenrek, at first I got this "elitest" impression of you, but after a few times of actually talking to you and after induction you warmed right up. I really had fun when we were grouped and Yzekon and all that. I liked your character and hope you do find more fun in whatever you roll up next.

that some of the things I showed you would provide you with the incentive to stick around and continue exploring with me. I think me coming off as "elitist" is more the result of my own competitive personality than anything with my characters, but it's something I should probably take into account if I undertake any roles that might require that I subjugate myself to the rulings/opinions of others *pokes Grurk*

I still remember our very first interaction at the inn. I could tell immediately this was going to be an ass kicker. I think that without the burnout, this was a very valid candidate for Marshall or Captain.

Going to miss you there, mate

The rp with you gave me something to do while I was waiting, and while it started off as a placeholder for my impatience with the empowerment process, I gradually found I enjoyed the whole thing. Too bad your char is so passive, and I was bound by honor. We'd have had fun hunting evils were the circumstances different.

I saw you as a viable cantidate to replace me.

The sheer number of times you and I would go and find trouble, usually in the form of gangs to fight with, was amazing. We'd go and just have some "Well I'm bored lets go walk around" agenda because there would be no evils on, and within 5 mins we'd have 4 or 5 Imperials log in and find us and we'd be off and fighting, and DAMN could you fight. Always ready to back me up with word or hammer, I probably spent more time with you than any other Fortress member with the exception of Audriel.

And she has better legs than you do.

you did. I really didn't put too much into the character, which is why it was so easy to get rid of him. I'd been contemplating it for quite a while. If I get around to it, I'll post some of the more entertaing logs (you and me when I died after being fiended to Relzin, and Beroxxus or someone started harassing me), and the retribution that was taken shortly after, or something.

For what it's worth, I liked Thenrek. Possibly more than any other character I've known you to have played. Funny thing: my first thought upon reading your goodbye note was, "Wtf? Cartherlen played a goodie empowerment character?" You seemed to make it work, though, so more power to you.

One of my more recent chars was a dwarf that I enjoyed playing for the duration I had him. Grikletun, and I thought maybe I interacted with Nhiala as him, but I can't really recall. Anyway...I've played my fair share of goodies, I just tend not to pk quite as well with a goodie mentality.

Thanks for showing me around in places I was unsure of.
Now HOW do you move so freakin' fast?
you would be zipping along, I'd cast a spell
and it would go off like 20 paces later!
I know I have a comparatively slow connection,
but what are you using? an OC3 or something???

Well see ya next time around.
