well rolled up flaerglum to try out poisoner thiefs and because I thought the scion was gonna be in power so i would have plenty of people to fight. My adivice to anyone rolling a poisoner, don't go village. Its a powerful combo but its a support class and alone it blows for finishing kills if yu go pure poison.
Anyways a little disclaimer I guess yeah I was a #### about poisoning armor and canteens and stuff but hey I have been on both sides of it and its rough but not that rough. I had less strict rules about parity then village warriors becuase well i am not a warrior and a thief villager has a coimpletly different set of rules and stuff then a warrior. Yeah i was kind of an overbearing leader but hey I was sphere leadership and tried to be an active leader. Though I never get tated by zulg.
farewells then
IMMS: Well i found you a lot of bugs, I honestly think that I lost 80% of the things i could do with poisons over the course of my chars life. Anyways though it was fun and i still enjoy this game a lot.
sabiene: Very good leader, a little too mortalish though. when you were giving me the discusion on fighting the armadillo it was kind of unnessacery and you really need to play a poisoner to understand how truly potent they are and pointless without someone to help lag. and as a side note after reading the log correllia posted, you are aware that the tablet is just decoration right? The plaque is the tablet now and respecting imms is number 5, number 1 on it is almost forgotten talking about war and tactics and all. Ohh and my question in the rites was poorly choosen because the plaque answers it plain and simple directly in one of its rules and since no villager has power to make policy contrary to the plaque my hands were tied.
zulg: I tried being a leader, I feel that i suceeded, i guess you did not, thats for the one talk though. I hope to hear your thoughts as well as sabiene's
Village:
Juktar: Damn dude you go first cause you are number 1, I kept those talismen of strength of yours up until the rites where they poofed. I hope you mak the pillar some day.
zylundak: you were like that grandfather type always telling me stories thanks for naming me general i had a blast. we never did get our duel though once you got bladesong.
zhelrantix: I respected you a lot, you will make a fine commander, but even though i know your flurry is sick, its ok to try other things now and them I am mad I never got my rematch grrrr... keep it up big fella.
kackrik: You annoyed the ever living piss out of me, good job, and I made you take a bath haha. keep being bull headed but be careful who too.
tykrul: Thanks for the nice farewell we had a blast ranking up
baielko: Hope you get next general you desrve it, an incredible warrior.
others... well there are a lot of yu post here and i will respond.
Others:
Voronil: haha nice druid, I have seen you from different sides now, and I liked you best from this one. you got a cool char keep up the hard work. and trust me even with briars I could still beat you if you stuck around.weaponnick and dirt are overpowered!
odelius: We had an interesting past, I hoped to get un banned from the inn just so i could keep mind controlling olin and make him pass out poisoned drinks, those were the days.
wow I guess there are a lot more so just post and i will respond.

Hell.
You stole all those wands that I've gathered, bloody thiefling! I've put so much furkling effort into it, and my cursed time. And what for, hell? Damnit, wands certainly must be non-stealable, hell, or my work becomes pointless (those wands cannot be put into container and can be stolen).
Fark! Well done, too, still coughing from your bloody poison. And btw, I worn your armguards later, hell, I've been too curious of the result. I vomitted every wall in the cave, floor, my own robes and every undead that followed me, damn you, until I ate some funny root, hell, and cured that poison, hah!

I was considering trying it out, but I had concerns about the lack of anything taking effect before they just walk away and quaff or cast. I was also worried that due to the most recent of the thief path tinkering taking cheap shot would endanger being able to get mind control poison, which would be very harsh. I agree that being a villager would pretty much eliminate at least half the effectiveness of mind control poison, but I always thought poisoners would be really nice for defending raids. If I did a villager poisoner I think i'd go up to fear poison (weapon nick if it comes afterwards?) and then take thug up to parting block if possible, cheapshot if not.

I thought you were definitely trying to be a leader, what I didn't really see was anyone respecting you for that, or following your suggestions. I did hear people question you, talk behind your back, and not have a very high opinion of you. I wanted to watch more, especially with regards to the Empire/Battle feud you were trying to diffuse.
So long, and thanks for all the fish!

Ok, since you are dead now, no nice touchy feelies.
I hated you IC. OOC I thought you were an asshole. Everytime I saw you on, and I was the only tribunal, I just knew I was in for at least a death or two. Would have been ok, if they were to you alone, but you almost always had one or two village warriors with you. And yea, your ...issues.... with parity really pissed me off, you and a few of the other villagers. I can see your view point, as a thief, support class in a kill, etc, but sheesh! You move into the village, you gotta live by the village rules and ideals, especially as a leader. Sounds to me like you just couldnt handle it, so you found ways to exploit bugs, bend rules to your own liking and interpretation, etc. I spoke with a few other villagers at the time about this, and they were like 'Flaerglum have own rules'. Stupid. You cant lead people if you have different rules than everyone else.
I think alot, well, at least 4, of the past and current villagers, have a severe lack of understanding of that (parity, the plaque in general, village history, etc.), or just dont care. One or two of them are still active, so I wont name any names. I would like to see some more self policing of Villagers in this respect. There is just no reason, for a village thief, to poison someone, control them, revert them, forget poison them, letting the poison eat into them, and then having one or two village warriors standing there to cranial, hamstring, etc. Just frickin rediculous. And you, as their leader, encouraged this by your actions, if not your orders.
Well, hmmm, gotta say something nice... Well, about the nicest thing I can say about Flaerglum is... he's dead.
I was new, and made a lot of mistakes, and judgement errors as a shifter tribunal, and I freely admit that those were the ultimate cause of so many of my deaths, so I dont blame you for them. It's all part of learning the game after all. Lets see... 18-3(aging)-3(at death) = 12*3 = 36 deaths. I learned a hell of a lot with Larsetta hehe. I think you got about 10 to 15 of those deaths? I stopped counting early on.
Overall, you were just a ####, both IC and OOC, especially that time you killed me, and then poisoned me, and broke character and said it was for busting you out on Dioxides board. Wasnt even me that busted the ID bug on poison.
Good riddence to a poor character. Well, unless it was in your role to be an asshole, then you succedded. yea rah.

I never fought with others till an imm sat me aside and said fight with others. Thieves parity rules were a bit different then other villagers, i followed the letter of the plaque at all times. the incident you think is ooc was not, one time i poisoned a piece of armor and you were like what only one piece i am ashamed of you i know how to identify it now and will tell all of thera about it so you can never poison anyone again. it was a totally ic manner.
Nothing wrong with poisoning up people for others to kill, fought you with a warrior one time. I killed mages because i hated them just cause your a newb or you just died does not change the fact that your a mage. or the fact that ic i am going to kill you everytime I can.

Having a poisoner thief on my side was a bonus. Having a person who doesn't know strategy well, coupled with a leadership position, was a bad thing. I had a few problems with you. First of all, I felt you were totally incapable of leading. This is not based on my own ability, but rather what is good for the cabal as a whole. I felt you strategies, thoughts and way of speaking was quite annoying. There were times when I felt I wanted to just do a cb shut up idiot!#@$, but I couldn't - you were an "Elder" and I had to respect that.
Though we were somewhat friends, there has always been tension between us since you decided to 'teach me a lesson' (and we both know how that went.. heh). Though I am not glad to lose an ally, I am glad the General position has opened up for someone more competent.
Sorry for the venom in this post, I don't mean it to be a complete and utter flame. Just a "Liked the character, not the player" thing. Good luck with the next, come back to the village and grow a bloody beard! Har!

Ok, Losing three good Villagers right in a row is rather disheartening. I'm gonna miss having you around the Village. I liked your character alot although I thought he was a "little" power hungry and curt for my tastes. But that was the way he was always so I thought it was good RP. You showed the Village at least and most of our enemies the power of a poison thief and I thought you played one brilliantly. Well done. I also think we would have cleaned house in a group battle at the rites. Our duel was definately a draw. Rest well and GLON.

No doubts, I think it was up to the Imms either way, and they werent about to give you a second chance like I might have, I think. Anyway, We certainly did hang around together less after you were banned, sadly. Oh well, I hope you had a lot of fun, I certainly did, messing with you and stuff. And that Prayer in Tar Valon was accidental, I swear! Too bad you had to knife/poison me up, heh. Anyway, I hope you have a lot of fun with whatever you decide to roll with next, enjoy and come back soon!

That is intentional, just so you know.
> were giving me the discusion on fighting the armadillo it was kind > of unnessacery and you really need to play a poisoner to understand > how truly potent they are and pointless without someone to help lag.
Being a thief is never about killing solo, imho. If you manage at all, it takes more than a little luck and good timing. For this reason, being a thief in battle is very tricky because you run headfirst into the parity rules 8 times out of 10 if you want to truly be effective in combat. Not that you need to be - I mean, a thief is still a *thief*, there are other ways to be, as I tried to demonstrate in my own mortal life.
> and as a side note after reading the log correllia posted, you are > aware that the tablet is just decoration right? The plaque is the > tablet now and respecting imms is number 5, number 1 on it is
I am aware of this, but you must remember, I am a village Imm and this is something that is important to me personally. I enforce it because to me, that IS one of the most vital aspects of being a villager. Beyond that, keep in mind, #1 or #5 it's still something you have to follow so I'm not even pushing my mandate in the least.
> almost forgotten talking about war and tactics and all. Ohh and my > question in the rites was poorly choosen because the plaque answers > it plain and simple directly in one of its rules and since no > villager has power to make policy contrary to the plaque my hands > were tied.
I'm not sure exactly what you mean. The question I posed in the rites was deliberately open ended and not one with just one right answer, but I don't believe it had anything to do with something that was "fixed by the plaque". In any case, it was a very practical question and one that every commander needs to know how to handle.
All of this being said, I liked Flaerglum just fine, although there were times when I wondered exactly why you were General. Don't get me wrong, you made an effective poisoner, but... in terms of generalship, that isn't what I saw you as. Really, I didn't see you as best fitting the village at all. You'd have done better in another cabal, imho. Wasn't Zashiere a Scion or Imperial? I forgot... it seemed almost like you were rolling over some of that RP into this character.

That is really not true. The majority of Laios, Vhenos, and Cathoir's kills in battle were solo. If anything, being a rager really bolsters your solo kill ability. Atreieu had about 95 kills of which about 2/3rd were solo. Had he been a rager I think I could have added 50 to that in the same amount of hours. Though a villager can't use haste like I did (about 15-20% of the time), resist and spellbane are extremely useful in coping with fragility issues. Toss in either a berserker path for some wicked deathblows or a scout path for discern and area spell evasion (discern is absolutely beautiful as a thief with cheapshot, checking that fly timer is priceless) and you're stylin'. Finally, consider the fact that thieves have various ways to knock people out (seperating groupmates essentially) and you have the ability to take down entire groups as rager thief, especially when they can't see you coming. Thieves are beautiful solo killing machines, I haven't explored some of the new paths but it seems like they only strengthen an already very nice class.

#22873, "about bugs"
In response to Reply #3

I did not see it as a bug, in all honesty I thought the imms would have caught something as obvious as guildguards, but I was wrong.
I reported bugs as i found them and I found a lot of them, my favorite was when I could suggest induction. When i found it I considered keeping it my little secret and using it on foslin and mekantos. But i decided it would be too cheap so i reported it and tried it the next time I had mekantos knocked out, unfortunatly they had fixed it by then, woulda been funny as hell if I had not told them.
anyways once a bug is reported abuse is acceptable unless told otherwise and its abuse if easily fixed.

That's ####. If you know it is a bug, you shouldn't be abusing it. No one should have to tell you not to for you to work that out.

Personality-wise you reminded me of Zashiere and that's the major problem I had with you. Other than that, I guess you were alright. I know it's tough to land a kills with a poisoner with limited tactics due to being a villager.
It feels like all the ragers are disappearing. I guess it may be boring having only one major enemy, especially when that enemy isn't in power.
Oh, they also didn't change the "mindcontrol nofol" trick/tactic.
Sorry that I have to keep this anonymous and vague. I don't want to give away much about my character.
