You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Well, this character hurt a lot. I'm serious... seemed like there were only 2 or 3 evils on ever from when I created to when I effectively stopped playing him (a few weeks ago). I died a lot, from the hordes of storm warriors and paladins to the pair of goodie multikilling thieves/assassins. I kept going though, always stupidly would regear and play on.... until I started playing a shifter.

It's not even suitable making the comparison. Shifter gearing and regearing (not to mention all the other neat things they get that a warrior has to work for) was so much easier and such that I couldn't think to play a warrior again until I got tired of it. So I suicided in the underdark and deleted. Just so you know, I'm in no way complaining there, that's just personal preference.

A few things about the character. I was a sphere combat dagger spec, which was great. The direct opposite physically of most of the warriors out there, but the mindset of 'My skill is far superior'. I really wanted to try out the legacies I had planned, but there was no way I could sit through playing a warrior with a huge exp penalty and such low con and hps (I was getting gains of 9 through most of the levels).

I really love dagger specs now. All my spec skills were perfected beside of course concealed. At one point I was ranking on mobs that gave 7-900exp per for 2 straight levels and it only went up twice. It ended up at 82%, and mind you I was a drow with 24int. I could actually tank some too, with a shield and the high dex things worked out nicely sometimes. My fights were either one sided against me, or close fights in which I mostly won. I posted all the good ones on dios a while ago, which seemed to intriege (sp) a few people, so maybe this character wasn't all for nothing.

No real goodbyes to make, but thanks for the good fights those of you who gave them (Denissa and Yoesch come to mind).

It's really too bad because I think I could have gone somewhere if I hadn't lost so much con early (before I got concealed mainly). The legacies I had lined up were going to really make the character too. Oh well, I'll save it for another drow dagger.

I didn't really think I was too deadly, though dagger specs can get nasty real fast. Maybe I just had my mind on all those nasty deaths. If you didn't see them, search on dios for some logs.
