Duergar balance berserker with dagger/mace is a really fun build that I had tried before as a defender. I had tried the build in Empire as well. Dagger + mace + balance is very slept on. All you need is a noremove dagger or leader weapon and you can drop around 25 str in 3 rounds after hurl torso/artery/boneshatter plus potential poison. Add on a cranial right after without having to fumble for weapons and it's a death sentence for tons of builds.
Empire and Outlander had been particularly ganky around my playtimes so I thought it would be a good time to test Surrounding the Sunrise as it had been upgraded since I took it last. For all intents and purposes there was almost no difference. I took several fights against multiple opponents in an enclosed environment and the new change was you get a surrounding echo just like the one you'd get when being attacked that prevents being attacked, but it's in combat. HOWEVER. This happened about 4 times over the duration of the character. I had high hopes about one particular fight at Nightwalkers in a cave and got one block while fighting 3 people.
I appreciate that Battle leadership in general has implemented more RP than in recent history. Having new members required to know some of the history and WHY parity and/or pride are important to the village adds a lot to the cabal. I think a lot of people get lost on how parity works even though it's very plainly written into the upgraded Village Commandments that replaced the tablet/old commandments. More people should read that and it would lead to a TON less bitching from battle vets who's main purpose is to play battle enemies and tell them IC how poorly they're rping their battle character.
Thanks for getting the PBF someone.

Why do you need a noremove/leader weapon for this? To avoid offhand disarm..? I'm just not sure what the gameplan is here but I'd be very curious to find out.
Sometimes it's weird to have characters expected to know the history and stances of a cabal BEFORE they join and can actually look at those items IC, but whenever I'm a leader I try to give them the grand tour unless they actively tell me 'yeah yeah I know #### off' becaus eyou never know when it's someone's first time getting the tour, lol

Basically if your main weapon is noremove/nodisarm you don't really ever have to worry about getting randomly disarmed. You can just keep your dagger in your main hand and have the free concealed attacks against anything attacking you always. The idea is you get the free concealed after the maledicts while being able to cranial from the offhand, without ever worrying about dirt/blind or switching weapons. Random mob dirt/disarm while running around trying to be aggressive and taking risks with potential deaths are terrible.
The only thing I was really commenting on with regards to village history is the general requirement of reading Lyceum texts that specify how the village was founded. You would be amazed at the lack of RP from Battle/Fort/Outlander in recent history. Setting ANY bar with regards to requiring RP is a huge step. IMMs can't be every where at once and at the end of the day it probably isn't worth it to them to address the cabal members who want to spout off gear stats on CB or talk about how they remember when Hamsah Mu'tazz was New Thalos.
