You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

So, that was a ride. I made Braolyn when Empire was down to try to get some things going and I always wanted to do a dark-elf healer in Empire. The problem was, the hits started right after I made them. Horro was a Destuvius follower and so was I and I had heard Horro got empowered just not long before I tried to work on my praying and then Destuvius went dormant. I went 150 hours without empowerment, which ultimately made a big drain on the character. I get the IMMs are busy so I do not hold it against Destuvius at all, but it ultimately did ruin some of the fun.

I had some people ask me why I didn't try to change gods. Well, the answer to that is basically a Destuvius follower, to me, is going to struggle to prove themselves and would not stop so I stayed true.

Work has been crazy for me lately, and even Ska seemed to notice and mentioned it to me one day and I knew that that was going to cause issues as well. I wanted to try for Emperor (who wouldn't) so I stayed through the vote and ultimately lost and that kinda sealed the fate of the character.

Ska: Congratulations on Emperor. I never had a chance to tell you because I did not log back in in until the hammer had hit, but we came up together and I was glad that if it was going to be someone, it was one of us. I did end up voting for you.

Noct: I really liked you but as a Destuvius follower, even though we had agreed to vote for each other, I made the choice not to because you got wanted. Whether it was understandable and within the laws of the Empire or not, I did not interact with wanted people and that caused me problems for voting for you. Good luck as you continue, you're a force and I know you can do well.

Vrolah: Thanks for the chats. You were the only other Council member with me for a long time and unfortunately I didn't see you much as a Council member until later.

Empire: I tried my best to try to help you all out. I was almost playing goodie in Empire clothing because I felt that it was more important to build up the Empire versus require everyone to pay for my services in some way. When I found out I could promote, I tried to promote outside of sect as much as I could and I tried to give some gold to people I promoted so I was always out gathering when I could. Keep it up.

Rillan: Thanks for the promotions and everything. In hindsight, I probably should have followed you and I might have found more interest in the character, but as they say, hindsight is 20/20.

Last thoughts. I really would like to see Battle get a full time enemy that can be a real enemy. Even with no Black Sect leaders for a time, I watched Battle go after a very down Empire when there were mage leaders in every other cabal. I'm not sure how to fix it so I do not have any suggestions beyond the aforementioned comment. As a serial Nexus player in the past, it is times like these that make me miss Nexus being around because at least there was a direct enemy that seemed to take the brunt.

Battle enemies: Some of you hunted me more than I saw you hunt others, but with no mages on I guess that was expected. I talked to some of you, specifically Harelkuf and Zsin a decent amount. I didn't talk to some like Iso because they were always wanted and I didn't interact with wanted people (as mentioned above).

Last but not least: People in the Inn. You all made my days more enjoyable as Empire grew a bit. Thanks for hanging out with me.

Enjoyed Braolyn. Trust me when I say I'm sad to see you go.
