You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

Actually I made two very important discoveries with vampire, one of them would have drastically altered things with what I was getting if I decided to stick to the class, but would rather if I ever do vampire again, to do so at that point.

I did not really mess with some parts of what I wanted to with a vamp, but the main drawback is the thirst, and just how often you have to deal with it with only two manners I know of, to deal with it. It is bad enough that I had no ability to go after my barrier rod, because the way to it left no possibility to sate thirst at all for a vamp. Garaunteed death trying.

With how vampires are it looks like unfinished work thrown together and put out there. Without spending more time trying to make it a powerhouse (and completely regearing to lose a few hundred health just to have some melee damage to build up with) I cannot really give a 100% detailed examination of the class, I just didnt spend enough time testing it.

I did not want to, fearing much of it would just be mangled code just as the new enchanting system being able to have such weapons as the shadow dagger having 16 damroll, which was never meant to be enchantable to begin with. So was time to delete. Maybe in the future I will study it further, while not in a cabal etc et al, but not right now.

" it looks like unfinished work thrown together and put out there. "

CF runs on a very small volunteer staff. This is the fine print when you sign up to pioneer the new stuff. Frankly, I'm baffled Vampyres even got implemented after all the long years. Major props to whoever made it possible. (I'm guessing Ishuli & Scarabaeus.)

As an aside, allowing the things into the Blood Tribunal adds a whole new dimension of sinister to this cabal's evil branch.

Before you know it, the Spire will look like Barovia Keep.

Just me.

And it isn't unfinished, and it all looks working as intended thus far!
