You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

We had great fights. I totally screwed up and casted on you when it was when someone else fled. This eating a death. Death by phone apparently. I enjoyed finding your kryptonite with disarm and fumble. I used fumble in a pk as a shifter and it got a pk win! Wonders never cease.

You deserved leadership and more attention. That other one you should have replaced a long time ago. GLWN

Galvinar was my First Tribunal and First Paladin. I enjoyed Tribunal, but I am unlikely to play another Paladin. I was hoping as a Giant, I would get some kill sealing ability out of fend, and I likely did, but not as much as I had hoped for. If I ever do play another paladin, would likely go two hander. I think all the level 4s asking me for gold and to kill the goblin general and midnight dragon are enough to dissuade me from the class forever though.

I started playing again in May after about a 4 year (mostly) hiatus (I think I may have played an orc in those 4 years somewhere). I played 2 outlanders before Galvinar, and for most of my logins on my last guy (Althar) my pk range usually consisted of 5 outlanders and a herald or something. I went Trib over Empire because, even though Empire had lesser numbers, they seemed to have a stronger presence. If I had the hindsight to know how Empire was going to bottom out, I would probably have gone Empire to try to get into the Emperor lottery.

I have been wanting to delete for about the last 100 hours. I don't mind being outgunned at all, but Chars that are not netting kills tend to lose my interest quickly. Galvinar was great at making people flee, but not so great at getting killing blows. I kept going on because I enjoyed interactions with Ishuli and wanted to finish up my research, and it felt like I was filling a need in the Game to have at least some counter to Outlander.

Goodbyes:

Ishuli: My interactions with you were the highlight of this char and the reason Galvinar lasted as long as he did. I didn't get the final review, but I have some sense of closure in I did finish my work. Not sure if Galvinar was a super great religion fit as he would have rather been running around swinging his polearm at stuff than perusing a library, but thanks for accommodating him. I do plan on doing another Ishuli follower someday.

Ydane: Not sure if you remember, but we interacted with Dravaden who was mine way back whenever who I deleted because I thought there were too many shifters, and actually when I started playing again it was because I wanted to check out Centaur Ranger. A large part of rolling Galvinar was I was pretty sure you and other outlanders would maintain a steady presence and give me something to do.

Quanhest: Speaking of something to do, mostly positive impression, but your habit of looting my halberd at the end I just found annoying. I think you probably did it to slow down what you considered my suiciding to you and the others on, but I never entered a fight I didn't think I had some shot of walking away from. I have been accused of griefing before just based on sheer relentlessness even when I am dying though, so don't fault you too much and you always gave me a way to get it back.

Llyion: Thanks for the recommendation to Provencial.

Nalasul: Thanks for the fun in the soup kitchen. I really want to make a follower, but I just don't do sneaky or deceptive well.

Those involved in the Voralia incident: Unless something went horribly wrong, I had deputized Gambut right before the outlander attack which was the reason I was in Voralia in the first place. What I was not sure about was if the deputation expired before the end of the encounter. When I started getting tells, he was no longer deputized (and I re-deputized him at that point), but both assailants where gone by that point. I thought my initial response was pretty witty (sending applications to Tribunal), but it kind of devolved from there. For the majority of my outlander experience, outlanders would get titled for complaining about how Tribunals did their jobs.

Anyone else, post and I will reply.
