*sigh* Me 'n spirit-frog's sorry yas is gone. As for yas anticipation uh my movements, it aint too hard. I's one uh the, hopefully the mos', lazy assassins in the realms. If yas aint on the eastern road, the inn, my cabal, or yas cabal, I sure as hell aint lookin' for ya. Is part uh my philosophy, movement's a fad that Thera's goin' through, the nex' big thing'll be sittin', so I sit as much as I can t' make me seem ahead uh the game. I remember once when yas slept me 'n fiended me when I was sittin' amidst a battle between the ragers 'n nexites, tha' wasn't nice! Anyways, yas was the bes' lil singy type feller I've ever seen 'n fun t have around, although it was annoyin' that one time when ya were sittin' in your cabal for half an hour without leavin', gimme a chance here! Yas gots t' gimme a chance t' kill ya rather'n jus' sittin' there in yas cabal. Anyways, without yas there'll be even less people t' smack around 'n I's gonna miss that. *wave* Oh, yeah, 'n Phoden says yas was tough.

Well, it was fun while it lasted....When you look back and see 340 hours played on not only one game, but one character, it's hard to think of yourself as anything but a dork. What is worse is when you wish you could only have more time. Christmas break is here, I go home tomorrow and will be gone for two weeks, so this had to be done tonight. I can't believe I made this much time in the last three months, considering I was coaching football, training for another Arena football season, going to school full time, and working about 20-30 hours a week outside of that. I wrote my first poem in my life while I was applying for Battle... if you saw me in real life, you would think I was about the exact opposite of a person who would write a poem. Up until Rustanviel, you would have been right.

Good-byes
Nexus
You all generally were only interested in fighting as a horde...
except for a few exeptions. I think that a well-played berserker sometimes needs a horde to bring down, and that spills out onto the scouts and defenders who don't have the hitting power of the berserker.

BattleCharmed- I can't remember what character you hated me with... but I will be posting a treatise on "Fiend" on Dio's soon, unless some imm says not to.

Mernon- Always seemed like you were up for a fight, I was impressed by that.
(I'm terrible with names... you'll know who you are)
That recent svirf guy- Well-played, I seemed to have your number though, until you reached hero, then you seemed like you went immune to my songs instantly. I remember raiding and killing both you and the *Recent conjurer guy* in two songs. I'm sure it was attributed to villagers being over powered, heh.

I'll make a separate group here for Cloud giants with the bash legacy
Valkore- Well played.... I would still love to know what the hell happened in the rift... if it was an OOC alias, or trigger, or what.
Oh, and your voice thing was really annoying.
Kragnar- I had a lot of respect for your character, and what I said in character was exactly that... in character. I am though, amazed that I didn't die more to people in this category, as they have me completely outmatched. Fighting the bash legacy, I never once in my life was not perma-lagged. I got bashed 14 times in a row once, with bash being the only thing that hit me. I learned one big trick... rest and when I am murdered, hope to get off when you don't see me, or I am dead.
Bazhans, Nabokov- I equally feared the two of you.... there was one more hero cloud giant with bash legacy, but it's not coming to me.

Warlock-
I didn't hate any of you but Tobras. When you edited that log on Dioxides for some reason to try to character assassinate Rustanviel, I had serious questions about the player behind the character. I'm still not sure why you went after Rustanviel like that.
Shila- You seemed a lot like Annalena, and I played Parcimius way back when.
Lardovian- You were fun to fight
I don't really know the new crowd so well.

Scion-
Khurmen- I don't know if I killed you or not, but you fell to two fiends upon you at the same time. This was the first time I *may* have killed a lich. When we killed you in the Chasm with Tobeldest, Alnallander and I, it was a turning point. If people want to know why evil didn't take over as everyone thought, that was it. All of "team evil" rallied around you, and we took your spirit that night.

Jalim and Talin- I was more scared of you than any other characters in Carrion. When I logged on and was dead from assassinate withing 8 minutes, that completely changed my playing style when I knew you were around. I made a group of villagers rank underwater instead of elsewhere for about two hours because I was afraid of you. Though how Talin is entropy is beyond me. You are about as unchaotic a person as I have ever met, I could anticipate your actions a mile in advance.

Tribunal-
You all seem so biased against villagers it is not funny. I was flagged six times for actions committed outside of town, and still I would be hunted by Tribunal even when I was not flagged. When I got flagged for autoassisting to help Trekalsh, and later 12 out of the 13 people I could harm came to the village to hunt me down, I was not impressed.

Noldruk- Well played... and well earned
Uelveyye- Well played... I knew when you logged on that you were going to get me flagged. You were good at that.
Futaleufu- I don't know what to say about you.

Finally to
Battle-
Bryvac- You were a fricking truck. Do you know how hard it is to get a kill when running around with you? The guy gets some scratches on him and you flurry for about 1000 hp to kill him. I guess that's why I had a sub 30% pk ration when you heroimmed. You better be back to playing after your life settles down a bit... you could do some good things as an IMM.

Intronan- You are great. I think maybe you might have been the one who gave me all of the ass-chewings by the Destructor for what I often thought were little things. Such as getting yelled at for cowering in the village after unghosting 5 ticks before. Then for returning Futaleufu's gear to Uelveyye's guard so that the conjurer that was there would not grab it, amongst others. I thought you hated me. You will probably never know how much that little appearance meant to me. You brought a tear to my eye... and that is funny coming from a 6'5" 310 pound offensive lineman.

Kastellyn- Your love for the games shows through into your character. It was seeing you in action that made me want to be an IMM. Your enthusiasm for the game we all love is inspiring. There's not much I can say that is better than that.

Thror- I never interacted with you too much... I know that you all watched me a lot though.

Arvam- I'll put you here, because sometimes it seemed like I had four "Immortal Lords" so I'll put you with the others. When I rolled up this character, I very deliberatly acted in a way your followers should act for his whole life. Rustanviel didn't talk to you much because he felt that your followers should not be talking, but rather out doing things. I explored more with Rustanviel did than I bet 98% of villagers do. I could not get any more exploration movement, but I felt a follower of yours should have attained lots of that. You were fun to follow.

Now on to the Mortal villagers-
So many of you.

Yror- You were amazing. Seeing critical hit Oblits was just fun too. Thank you for not telling my little secret to anyone after I sent that first note. For the rest of you, right after becoming a villager, for some damn subliminal reason I signed a note as Parcimius. Yror asked me who Parcimius was... and I didn't know what he was talking about until I read the note... then promptly removed the note. Thank you for not making me delete... one word at that moment and I would have been gone.

Tobeldest- We had an unspoken connection. Your words stopped me from deleting, and I think that mine did the same for you at one point also. You are a very intuitive character, as I didn't think I had let on to anyone that I was getting tired of Rustanviel, but you picked up on it.

Valarath- You were fun to travel with also. You had enthusiasm.

Nourn- Well played, that whole thing with Valkore was really weird. You were very cool to defend me like that. It had been my intention to distrust Valkore, then let him gain my trust when we raided Nexus, but he killed me, basically. You were impressive.

Drayhloch- Man, it would suck to be a drow villager, you were a good friend, even for a drow. My only regret was that we never got to do what I will call the "Dress Fight"

Guenrayn-Another good companion... I'm not sure how you did as well as you did at landing kills with no spec for damage, but you seemed to do well.

Tauser- Keep on trucking man. I know you have one bad connection sometimes, but I also know you are close to age-dying. If you can pull that off, it will be very impressive. You too were a good friend... when you and Sayangu would both Rising Phoenix, you were tough to any number of foes we faced.

Sayangu- Thanks for sticking with me at the end. I don't know why that new villager was being such a prick, but I'm not going to put him into my good-bye note. I'm sure there was some In-Character reason why he was the way he was. Keep on going, you help keep the village strong, Sayangu.

Dakje- You just... dissappeared... you were my assassin protection, dammit.

Trekalsh- You caused me more frustration than anyone. I could not help but hate you. Sometimes, I thought you were trying to get me killed, heh.

Gholrhun- You too, caused me a few deaths. Most of yours though, were from a desire to raid against bad numbers, and I was never mad at you for any of them. I think you might have been pissed at me when you died at the Nexus when I said we should wait for Drayhloch to unghost, and I didn't know you had headed up there. I'm sorry about that one... I think you might have thought I was berating you, when I was really just explaining myself.

Drahk- You were a truck, and fun to run around with. Congrats on Captain.

Grogim- Damn... damn... damn... I should have beat you in the rites. Damn. The first fight, for some reason I couldn't flee and you parting blowed me eight times. In the second fight, I had you. I'm still kicking myself for all of the mistakes I made. I should have sung you up more before fiending... that would have won it... I should have tracked you down better... I walked past you six times while you were running around... when you had me on the ropes after waiting for battle resistance to fall, I should have slept you again... and I could have. Which brings me to a point about the Rites... there should be a skill made for village bards called "Rites". This will make your songs affect everyone not in your group. It really does not do much to further the "Suspension of Disbelief" when I have to get uninducted from the village to fight for leadership of the village. Plus, it can easily be said that I lost the Rites, because I was not a villager during the Rites. No field dressing, no Resist. With those two things, victory was mine, even with all the mistakes I made.
Back to Grogim though... you are a great leader with great ideas... you just need to be around more, which I can understand that real life comes first.

Dalayr- You seem like a good character... keep up the good work.

I'm sure I forgot someone, if I did, let me know

The Destructor died twice in the 250 + hours I was a villager, and I never once logged off without having the head. Not to mention, it is a bitch playing on telnet almost entirely.

My Role
Added Fri Aug 16 11:37:42 2002 at level 22:
I come from the West, a place of unbelievable joy and
happiness. I was born long ago in the ever peaceful lands
of Westernesse ruled by Lord Celebornand Lady Galadriel.
Long ago, my people lived in a place called Lorien. For millenia
uncounted, my people flourished there, no foe could penetrate the
shields of Celeborn and Galadriel but other immortals. At this time,
great wars broke out as the Mages of Order and Chaos began their
battles for dominance of Thera. We do not know exactly what
transpired, but the Mages of Order apparently created a force
so powerful that they could not control it. This force was immune
to the very thing that created them, they could not be effected or
controlled by any means that the Mages of Order possessed. Of course,
the Mages of Order had no desire to let survive anything that would
not be a pawn to them, so they gave up all pretense of serving Order,
and turned instead to Shadow to help them destroy their new creation.

Added Fri Aug 16 11:50:37 2002 at level 22:
The mages of Order had to show the world a good reason to destroy the
battleragers, so they bound demons to their wills, setting them loose
on many countries, blaming the destruction on the barbarians. After
all of Thera was in shambles, and all demanded the destruction of the
warriors, the mages turned loose their demons upon the barbarians,
slaughtering most of them. However, the Mages of Order had once again
made a pawn that they could not control. Being ancient enemies of the
people of Lorien, the demons went after my ancestral land. There a war
more fierce than any prior broke out, with the demons trying to break
through the shield of the Lord of my people. After years of constant
battle, my people were finally victorious, but only after our land
was destroyed, and our shield to keep out magic was destroyed so
utterly it could not be recreated. My people, unwilling to deal with
the taint of magic into their lives, sailed west to uncharted lands.
They found a desolate island to live on that was far to the west of
the taint of magic users. They began to create it in the image of
Lorien, and at the time of my birth, it was a place of great enough
beauty that it could be called New Lorien. My people love singing
and poetry above all else, and through our passion, can make others
believe the words that we sing about. However, all things change,
and New Lorien is no different in that regard. The taint has spread
even over the vast reaches of the seas, even to New Lorien. My lord
sent me to deal with this new threat, so I have come back to fight this spread of the taint.
Added Fri Aug 16 14:54:53 2002 at level 22:
I spoke with Hirilim at length this day, he gave me several quests.
Firstly, I am to write a song or poem to inspire the village.
This poem will be for me to show that I can push the villagers to perform even greater deeds.
Secondly, I am to think about the fire in my heart.
To find out how I got it.
He wants to know precisely what drives me, and what drives the fire in my heart.

Added Sat Aug 17 14:44:35 2002 at level 24:
I recieved Hirilim, Captain of War's recommendation today, I will speak with Bryvac
before I speak with the Lords of the Village.

Added Sun Oct 13 00:31:05 2002 at level 51:
I have travelled these lands for quite some time and am beginning
to consider them my own. Though the lands of Westernesse are filled
with a beauty beyond compare, there is a beauty in these lands
that somehow surpasses it. It is not a beauty of the eye, but
rather the beauty of life itself. In the West, life drones on endlessly with no change. Since leaving, I have come to realize that life is meaningless when there is no chance of change in it. It was this very fact that brought me to leave the isle, though I did not know it at the time. Change is the very essense of life, whether it is change in ourselves or change in the world around us. Risk of life is the very essence of living. One must throw themself at what they are doing with all that they are. Anything worh doing is worth doing with all the passion that a person has.

Added Sun Oct 13 02:07:28 2002 at level 51:
Subconsiously, I think I left the West because I feared
an endless existance of nothing. Even an endless life is not worth
living if there is no passion in it. Since I came to these
lands I have thrown myself into the midst of an eternal war.
I have sought with all my being to learn my way around Thera, to know all that I can. It was in the quest for knowldege that I learned of
Arvam Raenau. From the moment I learned of him, I knew that he had
been my Lord since I took on this quest from Celeborn.
I always followed Celeborn, but his ways were never mine. I still hold respect for him, but he was never truly my Lord in my heart. In his wisdom, I believe that is why he sent me here. I have always served the teachings of Arvam, though I did not always know it. My tribute has been through the passion with which I have attacked life, rather than words, and I believe that is the greatest tribute that could be offered
to a Lord such as he.
Added Sun Oct 13 02:08:35 2002 at level 51:
This is the personal journal of Rustanviel, up to his 456th year in Thera.

Added Fri Nov 22 14:25:03 2002 at level 51:
Much has happened since I last updated my journal, but
then again, nearly 150 years have passed. First
and foremost, my passion for life prooved great enough as
to make me worthy of my Lord Arvam's mark. To me, this showed that
I have indeed lived well and accomplished much since leaving Westernesse.
Two of my great friends passed in recent times... one to the heavens
and one one into death. I will truly miss fighting by their side, but
they earned their peace, and I have yet to do so. One day I will earn
my peace as well, though I know not whether I shall go the
route of Tobeldest, or that of Bryvac, though that decision is not entirely up to me. I failed in the Rites of War to defeat Grogim, and I hope he prooves to be more of a leader than I had previously considered. He has all of the makings of a great leader, but one cannot lead from within their hut. I worry for the future of the War, though I know that there will always be new soldiers who see the Truth to take of the reigns. If only I had not been a fool, and would have taken more time in fighting Grogim, my concerns right now would be moot.
Perhaps though, it was destiny that interceded. Perhaps Grogim is to
lead us to the victory we have so long saught, and so many have bled for.
I hope that that is the case. I have concluded much of the work for the Lyceum, but need the help of the villagers to finish my work,
and they have not been exceedingly receptive thus far. I also hope to put on a few contests for all of Thera except mages to participate in...the ideas I have so far are a Theran Tough Man contest, and a testing of random knowledge. Currently, I sit in a tavern of the stronghold of the enemy, debating my next action. Apparently, the mages here do not think one of the village would be so bold as to infiltrate, or they do not know of us, but in any event, I have been offered a sponsorshop by a mage here.
I have said that I shall go on a quest to gather magical components
for him, and I will kill him after I have gained his sponsorship, to make sure he never casts the spell.
Some deeply-hued purple berries, a crimson flower, and a
small pale mushroom are the components necessary. I will gather them, and play it by ear on how to act from there. Perhaps I can kill one of the head mages and bring the tower to it's knees.

Glad a had a chance to talk to you and tell you how highly you were thought of before this happened. All of us Battle imms thought you were a very good village bard, and that's saying a lot, since most village bards tend to forget that they're bards, as well as villagers. Great job all around, from your poems, to your fighting, to your leadership. I still remember vividly a bunch of villagers with their backs to the wall against the Destructor, Nexus and Scion raiding, you show up, didn't blink, turned the tide immediately. Good luck on your next.

You forgot me!

Ah well, so has everyone else so far, though im about to read Guenrayns post, maybe he didnt forget.

It really sucks to see everyone dying and deleting, but losing the only Village bard is just devastating, especially one like you who was around quite a bit, could actually fight real well, and gave good advice.

If you keep playing, see you in the fields ok!

One of the better played Village bards I have seen during my time on CF. You're PK ratio (and PK career) mirrored mine to some extent, starting off way low and ending up hovering just above 50% towards the end. I could see you starting to master the learning curve, and figuring out some of the nuances of playing (and fighting as) a bard.

Your works varied. I kept a record of what you wrote (the subjects) and my rating of them. I think you swung from about a 4 (for the first song you wrote in tribute to me) to about a 9.5 (both for your tribute to the massive giant and for 'Tobeldest's Fury'). It was obvious which subject matter you warmed up to the most! I know most of them were Village specific, but I honestly wished you would have penned more of them to all. I'm not sure if people know (or care!), but you wrote about 20 original works, most of them about an 8 out of 10 on the KastScale, which is pretty damn good. Plus the bard song rewrites you took the time to send in; not sure how that particular project is proceeding, but your input was definitely welcomed. In the opinions of Thror, Intronan and myself, you did what a Village bard is supposed to do, and did it well.

I'm glad we had the talks we did towards the end; if for nothing else than to give you feedback on your request. If its any consolation, most people don't imm the first time they try (I sure didn't!), but if you have the drive and dedication to contribute to the game on that level, then keep trying. One thing I've found during my time here is that persistance on CF pays off (even if the Imms only give in to shut you up or out of pity for you ).

Thanks for the feedback on myself as well. Nice to know my enthusiasm and love for the game comes through; its real, and is a part of everything I do. Take care, and see you in the fields!

Well this is sad. I was really hoping to interact with you more, and more importantly, learn a thing or two! I'm sure this a a loss for everyone who intereacted with your char. But since we are basically selfish beings us humans, I can't help but think that i'm left hanging!

Anyway, from what I saw and heard, extremely well done. Hope your next one is as good or better.

I left a few of my friends to look after you with me gone.. That good-bye/final interview was an extremely good roleplay experience, and I enjoyed it greatly. Stick it out... the village will be rough in the coming days if I guess correctly, but it will come through to being strong again. Oh... I lost your story that you sent me... I was hoping to include it in my Lyceum piece. Please email it to me at
hogwild4676@yahoo.com I'll assume that if I recieve it I have permission to put it in.
Thanks,
Rustanviel

I always thought of you as the fun rager to fight, I remember that time with you Koaeb and Drayholch (sp?) where I dueled you all one at a time. Koaeb spanked me, I beat Dray (dont know how but I did! Your ran too. Hehe), then you. I would get you to convulsing then you would run, you would get me to convulsing so forth. I had the most fun then. After Grogim order the ragers to start full looting I was a little more careful with my fights. I think you were one of the best ragers, and I respected you for it, along with your being able to beat the living shiznit out of six of us with only you and Koaeb I think...Cant remember. But on in all very well done. Hope to see you again, hopefully as a friend next time..Damn fiend!

During any fights, I always made sure to kill you first because you seemed to know what you were doing. Got annoyed once when you made some comment about 'Nice Defense', when myself and another were deep in an explore area and could not easily get back to defend the chasm. That is probably why I picked on you a bit after that....Bards are fun, and you took it all well and never seemed to lose a step when you died.

Hope to see another charactor of your caliber back in the village, it makes things interesting for us on the other side.

Take care.

Well done sticking it out against the hordes that oppose you. You have definitely earned your time at the top of the food chain. Rustanviel was always trying to boost the morale of his 'troops' and eat at the morale of foes. My comment about 'nice defense' was more directed towards your morale than anything, although I was surprised that you didn't show up.. but now I know why.
I was overall impressed with both of you, and your ability to stick it out in the tough times through to the good times you are experiencing now.

Fun to fight you too

If you have any idea how much 'When you don't see me' messed with my gator... You'd be surprised if I showed up to fight at all. But nontheless, it made things more interesting even if defending against "just" you and Bryvac was pretty far from the top of my nice-things-to-do-list.
Bards are a pain to face if played right and I will give you just that, you were a pain, a major one

So, well played and damn you if you don't come back!

Like Kast said, you were a great bard, and a huge benefit to all the ragers when you were around. I know the support role isn't the funnest, especially in a cabal filled with big prides and bigger egos (I've had a rager defender myself), but you did it with consistent competence and dedication. You were very dependable, and deadly in your own right.

>Thank you for not telling my little secret to
>anyone after I sent that first note. For the rest of you,
>right after becoming a villager, for some damn subliminal
>reason I signed a note as Parcimius. Yror asked me who
>Parcimius was... and I didn't know what he was talking about
>until I read the note... then promptly removed the note.
>Thank you for not making me delete... one word at that
>moment and I would have been gone.

*chuckle* I really had no idea who Parcimius was. I guess you played him during one of my breaks from CF. At the time I was supposing he was another current char you were playing, as I know some people like to play multiple chars while they're waiting for induction. I pretty much forgot all about it until you brought it up again here.

Looks like I was wrong suspecting you had played another rager recently before this one. *snap*

You were a beast in raids, with your songs. I always knew that if we were together, especially with others but even just us two, we could do nasty things. Wish you'd ended up Commander, with all due respect to Grogim... you deserved it.

Koaeb always looked up to you as an officer, even if you weren't one officially. Was serious when I said I'd like to know your story. Too bad I had to wait until you're gone - Great Role. All through my long wait to get into Battle, you were encouraging, and that kept me going. Thanks.

You were a pain in my ass constantly. The moment I met you and found out the hard way that you had earned "frightful fiend" I knew it was going to be a long road ahead, with bitter fights. I think I talked to you the most out of the entire village, and had some interesting conversations with you. Hope you make another villager, i might be one of them soon enough. *lets out a sigh of relief*

Well I guess I didn't rate for a mention, but I wanted to say good job. I remember our hour or so at the Destructor when we discussed my past and a few other things. You were always there to support the village, and me, and I appreciated it. I echo everyone else's sentiments and say great work.

In my week away from a computer, these are the people I've been kicking myself for not including in my goodbyes

Hirilim- My mentor, before there were mentors within the village. You put me on the right path on how to live... but then you went and deleted. You were what I strived to by for my whole life....well played.

Darmok- I really enjoyed getting to know you and what you stood for... I helped rank so many villagers that I cannot count... I thought long and hard on how I could help you rank, and came up with a solution finally. In retrospect, I wasn't sure if I was doing you a favor or not... I bet it would have been cool for you to say you made it to hero without ever grouping... but you never ranked while you were with me I don't think, either way, kudos on coming up with a hard role, and sticking it out, and doing well with it.

Koaeb- Your dedication to your character really is incredible... after having so much trouble getting into the village in the first place, then getting kicked out... then sticking it out and getting back in, it was quite impressive.

My tactics did eventually pay off and You definately had me on the ropes at the beginning after landing the sleep and then the rest including that huge frigid damage. I think in 4 rounds I lost about 1000hps to you and I thought to myself 'Damn, time to change my tack' I then decided to run around a bit and rest some when I could with a polearm so if you murdered you got charge set and if you sang, it usually took longer for you and I could get away again. I recalled the rites area, from previous visits, to be bigger and when you were chasing me it seemed very small. It was not a concious effort to let resistance wear off, I was just healing up and with around 6 ticks rest I had healed up enough to go back at you. It is a little unfair to bards in the rites and I was not worried about you after our first fight, my mistake.

Usually the final fights are a melee but I think Thror had to go so it was kept as a knockout style tournament. I presume he had to go because he suddenly disappeared.
Yeah, real life has been a bind of late and very time consuming but I am averageing 10 hours a week and if it goes under that for any significant period I will see about stepping down but at the moment it all seems fine. I have a few more ideas to get going too but have not come across a good period of immtime to explain them. Get back into the village and you can fidn out.
Well played and a bard is always a joy to have around, or was untill they messed with we come/berserk :<
