I'm going to start in saying the obvious, I didn't delete because of Tikar's loss. I deleted after thinking a long while of what had happened, and what had happened to Sorn...and was fighting a dying dream.
Sorn's life began as a Priest of Sekhtan-Rah. Most don't even know who that is, yet I remember the only place I really ever explored was the Pyramid of Azhan with other characters...and it intrigued me. I researched on the subject and finally made a character with an interesting role and story, all of which I roleplayed to the best I could, ever. And was never empowered....and because of time problems I deleted. (You can check the Dioxide forum, and you'll see my previous delete.)
No one responding to my delete, even though I had interacted with many gods, countless heroes...to nothing. I gave up and left CF for awhile.
Not long ago I returned, seeking a craving of the MUD I will never forget, and I made a warrior and an orc, just various ##### characters....yet I suddenly remembered Sorn. The character I had put my life into, and I wanted him back....so I asked if I could recreate him.
The Immortal remembered Sorn.
Besides the huge rush of being remembered, he spoke of Sorn with good memories, and how I had a lot coming to me, but just left to early, and would be happy to see Sorn again. I rolled Sorn in a blink of an eye, and within 4 hours I was empowered, with some minor tweaks as to why I left.
Before this moment with Sorn, I had never really had any IMMteraction, and it is something I can't explain. You feel special, I guess, even though how retarded that sounds.
The rush continued when people complimented me on the forum, when players in the game would call me the Priest of the Cobra, when I was remembered and spoken to with countless people. I was on a roleplaying high, but not because of the people, but because I put everything into this character. I stopped thinking of my character and started thinking like Sorn. I nearly and did cost my life many times because of that, and even more, I risked being kicked from Scions, destroyed by friends, everything for the Cobra.
I preached, I lived, I breathed the Cobra with Sorn.
Some things transpired in his life, such as Lloth biting his neck for wearing a symbol of Lloth, which made me realize what that ment to be a true priest....how ironic the end of Sorn would revolve around the Devil's Mark.
To not go into detail of meeting Satan, I seriously sat at the Devil and thought long and hard, resisting the temptation to just say yes, and get a tattoo that does random oblits. I thought it through, and was continually thinking and thinking of what would happen if I did such. I knew some choices wouldn't work, yet I thought it all out, and in the end chose the tattoo because of reasons explained in my role (yet summarized, I served the Scions as I would serve the Prince. The Scions had not angered the Cobra, for I saw the Eternal Night as his return, in which I saught. The Devil never spoke of following him, yet of servitude and of defering to his power, both of which I had done to the Scions...a service which helped the end, which was my ultimate goal.)
The Cobra had become quite since the young ages of Sorn, in which I recieved a pendant (not tattoo) which I lost later, and was forced to sacrifice Glauryn to the Cobra. Honestly, Glauryn knew it was coming and let it happen for the sake of roleplay...his form would have raped me.
Yet the Cobra, despite countless times at the Pyramid, shows himself just outside Medusa in Hell....and strips me of all my power because of the Mark. I had roleplayed the Mark, I had explained to ALL why I did it when asked, I put it in my role, everything this character was mounted upon was his total dedication to the Cobra, hell, "I" was dedicated to the Cobra. The servitude for the fixing of my mind should have worked with the Cobra, as everything else had before.
Needless to say, the Cobra calls me a liar, a fool, bites me, and disappears leaving me powerless in the circles of Hell.
This is when the Gods begun to fight for his soul.
I won't go into strong details, but it goes to speaking with Asmodeus, which I accept to serve, Tikar kills me, then Asmodeus leaves me to rot. Then I try to speak to the Prince of Darkness, and nothing happens. Then Shokai shows up and tries to convert me, then Scarabaeus tells me to seek the elders instead of talking.....for a little while I tried to struggle in keeping Sorn against the odds, but I just couldn't continue.
I was dedicated to the Cobra as was Sorn, and quite honestly, when I was stripped and left alone, I felt so betrayed I nearly punched a whole through my wall. I did everything for the Cobra and I knew him probably more than the Immortal did, and it should have worked...yet to abandon me, and leave me to the dogs that fought for my soul...was too much.
Sorn died in the First Circle of hell, praying to the Gods of sacrificing himself for the Cobra, since it only seemed appropiate he die to the God that he "loved" as any undead drow priest could.
Honestly, I'm afraid to make another character. I've crossed the boundary of being attacked endlessly about my past, and become a "good roleplayer", yet Zorszaul put it best when "you feel like your the Immortal's beaten wife. You love um so much, you can't help but smack them." I've grown as a person in playing Sorn, and especially in CF...breaking from the mold of useless chars, endlessly bragging rights, and childless behaviour that gave me the name "Aether", with a past a lot of people will never forget.
Perhaps I'll make another, perhaps not. I don't think I can live up to something better than Sorn, without knowing I could have it all destroyed at the whim of another....and in the destruction of my dream, Sorn fell apart, losing everything...becoming the Sheep of any Convient Flock.
To everyone that Sorn met, it was beyond just a game with text. It was something I don't think I'll forget.
To Tikar: You probably wondered why I wanted to hero so bad, and honestly it's because in over 5 years of CF, I never have heroed one character...not one. It's horrible to fill so pathetic in never heroed one character but I felt Sorn should have made it, but when the group said "Your my hero" even though sarcastic, it made me realize it's not that important. It was fun while it lasted, and though I heard you lost your axe, keep a truckin'. And go talk to Satan again, you just can't pass up that bull raping you one more time.
To Malfius: Another boring adventure huh? It was fun, Malfius, and it intrigued me even more when I realized you weren't pompious to everyone, and eventually in the end started to become a character that could be called a friend.
To Glauryn: Words can't describe what you did for me when I killed you...you could have easily killed me, yet did it for the sake of the Cobra. That ment a lot....and even though I did win against your cobra/mongoose, your a great player.
To Lokilith: The conversations were endless, and when we spoke the last time, I realized you were right, but Sorn wasn't. He was destroyed, and couldn't do anything but frantically try and find a God, that would never exist....he had only one. Another time, Lokilith, it was a pleasure.
To other Scions: Each one of you was something if we ever spoke, especially Tillilare and Karnavex, calling me the Priest of the Cobra and such. Holding that respect was something I wanted to live up to, and I can't thank you for the support enough. The rest of you, even though a lot of us didn't get along, it was fun.
To the Fortress: It was fun while it lasted. I learned a lot of new things and especially how to kill a healer To Annalena, thanks for the talks in the end...realizing even though we had different paths, the priests shouldn't pick on each other's beliefs...for they mock their own in destroying another. To each his own, I guess.
To the Cobra: What can I say, I guess I never reached your standard. I tried and tried and tried, and I kept failing. I lost the pendant, I wore a symbol of Lloth and bore the tattoo of the Devil. And although I completely disagree with how you handled it, I guess it's fate I never make good enough character :-/ I honestly thought I had done it, made a character no one would forget, someone who I had fun with, but let others have fun with, and in the end I died a joke, or as Sargon put it, a sheep ready for the ass-ramming of a barbarian. The interaction was great, even though the ending was a nightmare. We both did a great job, though I just hope you can realize why I picked yes, and did EVERYTHING to roleplay it and role it and preach it. If only you could have seen why, you might have changed your mind.
To the rest of the Imms, Asmodeus, and the quiet Prince: Thanks for the interaction. I guess I should have expected what happened with Asmodeus and Tikar killing me, but I honestly was doing what Sorn was doing...trying to fill a huge gap quickly before his soul crumbled from being empty. I panicked, and fell every which way...and in the end tried to save it by praying to the Prince, but I knew that wasn't right...Sorn was dead, I was just trying something new.
I'll end it with my desc (both) and my role and some moments in his life.
To everyone that met Sorn, I hope you enjoyed it, I did as well.

My role: role + The scents of old, a time long and forgotten, assault your senses as your role + eyes adjust to the deathly quiet dark room you find yourself within. A simple role + brazier burns slowly in the center of the room, the flame flickering shadows role + along the pale stone walls filled with inscriptions of an ancient language. role + Standing tall behind the flame you see a familiar figure. role + "So you've come...come to hear my stories." role + A soft chuckle breaks the silence. role + "The beginning I can tell, yet the ended is pending upon the time - the role + endless hourglass that will follow me forever." role + Sorin slowly walks towards the brazier, and runs his fingers over the flame role + slowly. role + "Perhaps in time you will understand that statement." role + With a quick movement, Sorin extinguishes the flame with his fingers, the role + inscriptions providing a sickening glow to the room. role + "It begun in the homeland of all Drow, the Underdark. I was a simple priest, role + that had stumbled upon something no simple priest should deal with. It was a role + simple text that had originated from the place I now call home. A text role + containing the teachings of a time long gone, a time when power was learned role + from the dead...a time when power could could withstand death itself." role + Walking along the wall, Sorin runs his fingers over the inscriptions slowly. role + "I begun studying and I was found...found a threat to the High Priestess. She role + was afraid, as all are to the true power of death...inescapable fear. I was role + labeled a dobluth - an outcast who objects to the traditional role + authority-structure of the drow. I had refused to obey the teachings of that role + which I found...ironicly old." role + A sickening chuckle echoes through the room. role + "I was brought to The Room of Absolute Servitude, where I would be sacrficed role + for my sacrilege to the teachings of the Spider by seeking the ways of the role + Cobra, as I call them. The priestess stood over me, and thrust the serpentine role + dagger deep into my chest...." role + The room goes silent, which is then broke by a small whisper. role + "I can remember the moment when I screamed....a scream that woke the dead. In role + my moments before Death, I screamed in my mind...my soul for the teachings to role + be true, for a chance to prove them all wrong...and my own doubts." role + "My wish was granted." role + Sorin's footsteps increase as he walks around the room with verocity. role + "I saw...I saw the Cobra himself, Sekhtan-Rah. My eyes were open in my soul role + and I bowed quickly in the highest respect. As I opened my eyes I found role + myself staring at the ceiling of The Room of Absolute Servitude, the gasp of role + the high priestess breaking the silence. I rose and tore the dagger from my role + chest and dropped it without care to the ground, where it's ringing clatter role + shadowed the screams of the priestess as she fell dead in fright." role + Sorin stops and slowly grins. role + "I stood in shock, but with an anger and determination of only those that I role + defied death itself. I saw within the reflection of the metal table my own role + body..yet it was different. I had a golden robe on, a staff within my hand, role + and mist that was rolling around my body like a living snake. I stood there role + in shock as I could begin to smell the beautiful scents of the dead that role + grace me now." role + Sorin turns to the flame and lights it with a wave of his hand. role + "I walked from the Underdark without interruption. Who would dare stand in role + the way of the one who had lived through The Room of Absolute Servitude? I role + rose to the surface where I traveled east and mostly south...where the cities role + became roads, the roads became deserts, and the deserts...brought me home." role + Slowly running his fingers over the flame once again, his eyes stare deep role + into the flame. role + "I walked past the guardian unbothered, I walked through the halls of the role + feasting tables, the catacombs of the Family, and through the treasure room role + of the Ancient until I was standing over the tomb of the Cobra...Sekhtan-Rah. role + As I brushed my hand over the tomb I had only seen in books, the casing role + lifted to make way for the Cobra as he stood before me...a moment I will role + never forget." role + ""Sorin, you have awaken my slumber to the cries of your own death, you dared role + wake a God!"" role + Sorin slightly shivers. role + "I stood there, unsure of what to do. What would one say to the one that role + granted you life beyond death?" role + ""I have honored you with the secrets of the Ancients, Sorin, and with it role + will become the beginning to a new Era of the Family. Your hand will be the role + tool of my power, your voice the commandments of the Cobra, your life a role + living example of the true power of Death. Know this answer and you will role + begun your journey. Fail in this, and you will serve through eternal pain."" role + ""Fear, Cobra...Fear."" role + "I felt a wave of death pass through me as the tomb closed, Sekhtan-Rah gone. role + I stood, detached from the quick departure yet eager to begin my journey role + across Thera. I stepped, planting a staff near my feet...I found myself role + clothed in what I wear now, this staff within my hand." role + With a swift swing of his staff, the flame douses, the inscriptions fade role + quickly. role + "I walk now this land, bringing the word of Sekhtan-Rah forth, becoming a role + tool of the Family so that I might please him...and be granted the teachings role + of the Ancients so that I might bring Thera into a time of old, a time role + passed, a time when fear ruled the lands...a time when the Pyramid of Azhan role + reigned." role + Silence slowly overcomes the room as you hear Sorin's footsteps slowly leave role + the room. role + Time passes..... role + The crackle of a torch breaks the silence, as you see the familiar figure of role + Sorn fade in from the darkness. role + "Ahh...your still wishing to know what transpired of my journey. You think it role + had ended, I had left to never return." role + Sorn glares deeply into your eyes. role + "You're wrong...how was I to return to the Cobra as I was, unprepared, role + unready for the venom to course within my veins!" role + Slowly pacing, Sorn stops and slams his staff into the sand below. role + "I left to prepare, to bring forth my mortal body, filled with the blood of role + innocents that have stained my own soul with their unwillingness to die for role + such a cause..." role + Sorn chuckles deeply. role + "The Cobra sleeps and sees time as a flowing river of sand. My leave will be role + barely noticed in the scheme of his return....for I am but a follower now role + ready to fulfill his wishes of the venom to fill my crimson waters." role + with a swift swing of his staff, the flame fades to a mere crackle, the role + sparkles dancing about the torch as a shadowed figure walks from the room. role + "I am now ready to bring forth the gift, and myself...both prepared fully."
role + Sorn stood before the Prince of Darkness and begun to think deeply of his role + life, and as he stood, the Prince demanded he defer to his power and become a role + servant. He then realized he would do the Satan's bidding in bringing the role + end, for it had been the same as being a Scion of the Eternal Night - the role + same prophecy of the return of Sekhtan-Rah. He was then asked to choose role + between being powered in spirit, mind or body. Having his body filled with role + the Venom of He of a Thousand Curses, to defile such would mock the Cobra. To role + have his spirit filled with the preachings of the Demon, would destroy his role + dedication and following of the Cobra, which he would never do. Therefore his role + mind was empowered, as his mind had always been under his own control and role + been the cause of some of the foolish things that Sorn has done in his life. role + His mind is now calm, in control, and filled with a power that will serve role + Satan and the Scions as he has always wished, in bringing the return of role + Sekhtan-Rah. May this new found power be the beginning to the end...and raise role + the Cobra to envelop the land once again, for his goal to find something to role + raise the Fear of Sekhtan-Rah, has been found.
role + As time passes, do does the endless torment Sorn has faced for his path in role + life. Abandoned by the jealous Cobra, his one true God and devoted to role + endlessly, Sorn fell into the pits of despair trying to find meaning in his role + now meaningless life. As the gods and devils swarmed over Sorn, chewing upon role + his beliefs and mind, Sorn was alone. Utterly alone, Sorn had nealry given role + up, welcoming the end of a path that had been destroyed, even considering role + starting a new in the Fortress....yet as Shokai stood over Sorn and spoke of role + "mercy, pity, and evil turning upon itself", Sorn realized something very role + basic that hardened his soul to stand against what assailed him. All had role + demanded somethin of Sorn. His soul, his servitude, his repentance....yet one role + had not. The mark upon Sorn's arm was still there, burning and reminding him role + of the one that had not demanded nothing yet loyalty which he had failed to role + give...something he would undo. Dedicated now to the servitude of the Prince role + of Darkness, what is left of Sorn is an uncompleted man looking for something role + near impossible, a second chance with Satan. He will do anything and role + everything to prove this worth and will very likely die trying, yet such is role + the price of the fallen.
My religion
note + note + The Religion of the Cobra note + Followers of Sekhtan-Rah note + note + Those that follow the ways of the Cobra seek only one simple goal - the note + return of Sekhtan-Rah. A once great and powerful figure of Thera, that ruled note + by fear and absolute power, the Priests of the Cobra seek to bring his note + return, release the curse that holds the Pyramids surrounded in a magical note + maze of confusion, so that Sekhtan-Rah might return to power once again. note + note + Those granted the position of the Cobra find themselves able to cheat death, note + and they begin to learn the ways of the Ancients - respect, fear, and power. note + note + - Respect the Cobra and those of Sekhtan-Rah with the utmost respect, for his note + wrath is worse than any death that can be imagined for death will be your note + greatest wish. note + note + - Fear Sekhtan-Rah, and create fear in those around you so that all might see note + within you the fear that once enveloped this land. note + note + - With this fear comes power, and with power, comes his return and the end to note + your journey as a student and the beginning to the ways of a teacher and note + Chosen of the Cobra for his gratitude. note + note + May his hand cure this land of the lack of fear it suffers from.
