Total PK Wins 14 (10 at level 36)
Total PK Losses 12

Weren't you supposed to be some badass pk monster for the other two and Thera to deal with? Did you lie on the application

Especially if you're going to play an anti-paladin, that ratio has to be a lot bigger if you're going to amount to anything.

Just feels like this guy was supposed to be this big villain, probably said he had amazing pk skills on the application, and just teetered out.

Had the long-term view with the char, and didn't find the wands until about 20 hours ago, and concentrated most of the time on ranking to 36 (do note how many solo levels are there on PBF.) If you think an AP with no wands (and even with non-barrier wands) is a match for cloud RBW for longer than a second, you don't know what you're talking about. The ranger was never there to begin with.

You don't want to know how fast people ran away and/or did not engage at all against me. If your range is five people and none of them will fight you, and they can't be found, well, your login is wasted.

Some people were unbeatable with shield+aura+stone skin+bloodlust. Examples: Ruk, Crraya. Incidentally, those types of people were the only ones available to fight most of the time.

I can hold my own in PK just fine, but the badass-monster stage was to be postponed until about two controls at 36 (about another 100 hours or so) and ranking to hero plus charges along the way (another X hours with lots of solo-ranking). If people don't fight, you can't beat them.

Be my guest and do a fire AP that does better in 120 hours (don't forget to paint a huge target on your ass early on). It can be done, no doubt, but I usually play not-really-prime hours and who pk was 2-5 other people, usually pretty much the same ones.

Also note that I spent a long time retrieving each login around the horde of healers, Xona had the worldview that didn't allow her to concede the scepter to the weaklings.

and I say fire giant is a little easier than Felar. I think he deleted at about 250 hours with three controls and over 80 pkw. Of course Noviask had me gearing him some and cabal powers which helped a bit. Also, I'd say Torak is one of the better AP players since that is mainly what he subjects himself to.

If I stuck it out, I don't doubt too much I'd cross 50 and probably a 100 without dying much, the hard part was already done (getting to 36 and finding wands). However, there isn't much (if anything) buddy-wise in Scion. Also, power-wise, Nightwalker is nice, but not doing much of anything in the harder matchups, and a win-more kind of deal against the people you already win against. Despoil for APs is meh, too short and too little for what I could get myself. I knew some better items, but I wasn't able to get them. Volley is just sleep insurance pretty much. All of it is not nothing, but not a sigil of pain.

The point Torak is trying to make is that Xona's player said they were very highly skilled at PK on their role contest application, when it's obvious that wasn't true. Nothing against the player but from what I gathered Xona was supposed to be an Alex/Twist/Shapa/Nep level pker.

That which does not kill us,

I usually play very long-lived (in RL terms) if seldomly played characters. I'd probably say I average 5-10 hours per week. Sometimes I keep just one active mortal, sometimes two if one becomes too boring to play. (Fort that has no evil to kill becomes kinda boring at hero.) I've played every class (except shifters, who I dislike for lack of communication), most to hero. I have more than average (can be called excellent probably) area knowledge and fairly good PK skills.
Thirdly, to answer the questions you pose: RP: 5 (sometimes I don't get into the flow of things or don't bother to try hard enough), PK: 8sh. I would not like to play a shifter until he can talk while in form. (Probably not going to happen, but I'd love to try if that's even possible). Other than that, I can probably play anything.

On Xona I did better in RP and alright in PK, "8sh" is about right with a 10-3 record (I only count L36+ to be relevant) - and with all three of the deaths by choice, two to the same player who I could have ignored after it was too clear I had no chance but didn't due to RP. Could someone do better? Of course. Could anyone? I doubt it.

Relevant part of mine for PK:

I know I'm not very good at PK, but I like it. So I'll say a 4?
&
I'm a barely competent pvp'er.

So perhaps this was weighed against Xona being a 7.

I also liked the concept of the valkallyr. However I did not have a choice of class, storm ranger / mariner. Hadn't played a ranger since '96, never played an Outlander. Got tired of it pretty quick as I had no luck getting any interaction with Sunwarden, times didnt mesh up it seemed. Did have some immteraction real early on when Skulda and I got together, but nothing after that. No edges, no bonuses from the role for me either. I think I did get decent imm xp for writing a story about my birth using info included in the role. Given that you were supposed to be a fully powered valkallyr I thought you'd have some significant bonuses/edges. Sorry to find out that wasnt the case.

My role didnt include that you were Merf's child. Not sure if Skulda's did as she never mentioned it to me if so.

I was wondering where my other nemesis went. As far as I know you and Skulda are not true Valkallyr, too bad the tension never went anyplace, was looking to advance the story.

This was a character challenge, obviously. I think I did a fairly good job, but what did this char in was zero immteraction. This was a role contest of sorts, but I've got absolutely no feedback and no rewards of any kind, even if just for style. There were also char's goals and research that would benefit from immteraction, but alas.

Valkallyr are supposed to be a stronger, more vicious forms of a giant, but like I said, I was not any different from any other fire. My role dictated that I join Empire, but worshipping and praising the goddess of love? Meh. I flat out refused to the emperor's face, and then defied Derf also, who finally kicked me out.

I was fulled a couple of times and obv my weapons were gone after each death, and I had almost no allies, just someone or another randomly feeling for me. I didn't complain, but AP without a good weapon is not much to write home about. I think I did alright overall.

For the last week of the char's life I logged in with the thought that if I die and get looted, I'd probably delete. The last death wouldn't make me delete if I had any acknowledgment from the imms, but Derf even got my prep bag, and that was the last straw.

BTW, it absolutely blows my mind that aura+shield+stone skin+bloodlust leads to certain death against a single unprepped warrior within two or three rounds. If he's using triggers, like certain someone, I don't even have a chance to sleep him before the bash that lands each time (with me carrying the full weight). I can't do anything but avoid him, but RP called for me to try again.

I didn't find my wands until 36 after extensive searches, so didn't really hit my stride until much later in life. Barrier was in one of the harder locations, so didn't have it. Also ate a lot of mob deaths, mostly in bad teleports (Xona had the crappiest luck, like Hello, High Lord, aren't you happy to see me?)

Zhenyan, thanks for the induct, be around more.
Kraldinor, don't make Valkallyr of Destruction praise love.
Derf, just die please.
Warrior, no hard feelings, it's not even you.
Amaranthe, thanks a lot for the cool role and the contest overall. Please do more of those, it was fun. Too bad it didn't have a chance to go anywhere, but RL can be a something.
Anyone who helped me with gear, thanks a whole bunch.

No hard feelings for anyone who looted me, it's quite alright.

Post and I'll probably reply.

Amaranthe had asked me (accidentally with a wrong tell I think) about an heir to the throne story line for the RP contest. I was initially lukewarm about it thinking Emperor was a pretty big RC prize, but Amaranthe has always been good to me, so I agreed.

I was trying to angle to set you up to become Empress once I died. Getting you to dread lady would have been easy (except you didn't rank fast enough), and I was starting to try to maneuver the council a bit. I was going to try to keep your lineage secret to make it a bit easier, but you kept calling me father around others.

However, you wouldn't meet Kraldinor's basic requirements for Imperials, so I demoted you. Anyone else I would have anathema'd, but since you were supposed to be my daughter.....

It kinda felt like you expected my 700+ hour Emperor to change his RP to fit yours which wasn't happening. I agree in retrospect your char concept fit much better in Scion, and I am glad you made it in. Xona just didn't seem willing to participate in the maneuvering and compromise which is sometime required for success in a hierarchical cabal such as Empire.

Anyway, when Merf anathema'd you, I was pretty sure you had it coming and it was a bit of a relief actually. As far as him fulling you, I'd say mouthing off to out of PK Imperials leaders will often get that result.

I wasn't too worried though, since A-P's are not easy to play and I didn't think Kraldinor would have given her dreadlord until she was an appropriate level.

I basically asked you to anathema me with complete defiance for your worshipped god. There was no politicking or compromise there. You required me to praise Love when I was pure Destruction. No happy pink elephants in Valkallyr land. I then targeted Merf with something silly to anathema me for and gave him no choice about it.

Also, an angle in the role (which should be posted soon) is about Fire race rising up to be strong and assertive and dominant through the complete show of force, there's even a bit there that I despise you even though you're my father. I thought I played it out perfectly in how the Valkallyr would act and do. If the Empire is not about the strength and destruction, but about Love, well then, Hello, Anathema. More chance for the true Fires of the world.

Other people apparently knew you're my father, I didn't randomly brag about it to anyone. I think that was intentional and a part of other people's char challenges. The story got spread around, and if asked directly, I didn't deny it (if RP allowed for it) - for example I refused to talk about it with some Fort and some Heralds.

I expected the Scion route to be even harder than it was, I guess Zhenyen felt for me for some reason. But it was perfect for my role, much better fitting than the then-current Empire.

I know I could have been Empress, but that would mean breaking the RP, so I took a much harder road instead. Again, Valkallyr of Destruction just cannot praise Love. I could come up with a lame excuse like praising the Love of Destruction, but that would be a lie. For reference, see Rayihn's "tend to the world, nurture it" bit. I want to Destroy it instead and rebuild it to my liking, not going to support the nurturing nonsense.

Ranking mostly alone and found it incredibly hard to come up with cash in the teens and twenties. Even my mages have it easier for some reason.

Not a knock on you, but the assigned role just did not fit within the Empire of Love. Could've made it work, but meh.

You rp'd what you should have done perfectly I think, but in the end, I just don't think Valkallyr really meshed with Empire much at all with or without Kraldinor. He was just really the only prominent Fire giant around at the time.

Pretty common criticisms of Kraldinor and his touchy/feeliness. However, complaints or no, he got Empire to the top and kept it there for a bit with his "New Age" leadership.

One thing I am curious about is if the choice of anti-paladin (I know you can't answer this) was made because that would have been the path of least resistance to get on the council at that point (Noviask was anathema'd already) or if that had been preset. I think you would have had an easier time of it as a warrior.

I just felt that some sort of an acknowledgment at some point like "you're doing fine, here's a useless RP-related edge" or "you screwed this up, wtf you're doing in Scion, get back into Empire" or anything, really would be appropriate. I certainly feel I tried hard to play out my role as assigned no matter the consequences.

Scion induct came way before I could have expected it, probably around two or three weeks after I pledged. I did have some conversations with Chancellor and Advisor, and my role and the angle seemed to fit, but inducting an Anathema into Scion is not something I'd expect to be done quickly or easily or at all, really. I was fully willing to stick it out and did for quite a while.

I hope you knew when I called you coward it was 100% joking around. I assumed you would see it like that. I felt bad for you, but it wasn't going to stop me from going after you. If you want to know how I always had the drop on you, I knew you would come after me so I would just wait somewhere like outside city or cabal and spam bash xona. That's it. Again, sorry it went down like that. I hope you come back with something that you can have fun with. You were a cool character, I had seen that with my character previous to my current. I hope players like you keep coming back, as you make the game alot more fun.

Were you playing a character with no allies, a massive target sign above their head, hugely dependent on ABS that maybe you disn't have, who was eating full lots over and over and I'm certain cleaned out of weapons at every death? All while bound by role to value strength and victory?

Since I'm sure the answer to all of the above questions is 'no', Xona's player has bigger balls than you on all counts by default, regardless of anything happening in game.

It's foolish to make such assumptions. You're wrong about some things, especially the strength and victory part. Destruction was the name of her game.

What I said refers to a joke between her and I, sort of.

What I got from her RP was that she looked down on weakness.

I also geared her up from pure ragesteel when I was playing Mordwen, and was apparently the first person to have helped her out like that.

My last encounter with Xona went with me sitting in my guild. Xona tells me "Coward." I step ouside the city, she comes and I attack, she flee's close to death. Later I catch and kill her outside the chasm, and it was the last thing I said to her. Inside joke sort of. Perhaps I should have mentioned that in my initial post.
