I always wanted to try a druid out to hero and it was a lot of fun. I went out of town for a week or so on business and as I take on more responsibilities my time to play just keeps shrinking so I decided that this run had seen its end.

Whisydan: Thanks for the giving this poor shlub a chance, it was a lot of fun. I tried to make this char much more RP oriented then my traditional PK chars and it was a blast despite getting my teeth kicked in repeatedly. Also I never got around to it but I had planned to make a chapter in his life where his bear skin was stolen and I would go around passing out flyers and asking everyone if they had seen my Winky, I think it would have been pretty funny.

Mylene: Did you catch on that silly Gartuk was also mean ol Grippledank? It was cool seeing you from the otherside and nifty what we could do with your secret little power. How have you not age died btw?

Tinwold/Olthunder: Great buddies, I could always depend on you.

Nexus Hero Imms: I couldn't think of a nice way to say, "take the stick out of your asses" so I just said it. If there are multiple balances awry you shouldn't be trying to micromanage how mortals address them. If evil really tips and chaos tips a little and I know exactly where to find a chaos guy and would have to search for evil guy then I am going to knock off chaos guy then look for evil, the order I do them shouldn't matter (on a global level; it could for individuals depending on their role). So many times when those insanely stupid arguments would play out over CB I wanted to start sarcastically asking if it was ok to drink or sleep before going after group X facetiously, it really encouraged me to just flat out not bother discussing balance issues over cb at all ever.

I had you pegged as someone else that I had a lot of interaction with, but not the old dear Flame! Yes, anyone that can heal with that little trick it reminds me of the old days of when Masters was about and you could cancel transform to get back to full hitpoints.

I had fun with you and I could tell that you had frustrations with the balance and the way I've asked it to be enforced. Don't blame the Imm's, they do a really good job of letting the mortals dictate the direction and they help out where they can. If you are frustrated please be with me. My viewpoint on this is that when I was first inducted that evil would be tipping like crazy because of the Scions and there would be one lone imperial (also fighting the Scions) and then I would hear over CB that they just got that lone imperial for the darkness. It just didn't seem right. I'll have more in my thread about this but I feel that Keeping the Balance means more than ganging down the weakest portion of the balance so if that means that chaos and darkness tips, well then the wanted chancellor is the target, not the Imperial.

I enjoyed our talks, and I thought you were a beast as it came to dealing with villagers.

The issue was mostly restricted to hero imms and in his time a little to Carg. Its totally valid for chars, especially in positions of authority, to want to project their paradigm of right and wrong onto those under their sphere of influence. The issue that I took was that it was less theory sharing/shaping and more micromanagement. Nexus is very much what I would call a sandbox cabal where everyone might be united by a common goal but have drastically different approaches to achieving it (outlander is the other big sandbox, scion too though it is much smaller in size so you have less friction between different philosophies).

In the back of my head someone on the heroimm/cabal imm level should be more concerned with maintaining that sandbox atmosphere whereas a mortal leader may be more involved in defining how mortals go about achieving the cabal goals.


And I am glad you thought I did well against villagers because if my PBF ever gets published I assure you the numbers would paint a different story. I was doing a lot of experimentation (and I didn't even really try out more then 60% of the druid arsenal) and there were a lot more non physical non metal weapons out there in circulation then I was aware of previously . As long as they didn't have entwine I could retrieve but I really struggled in keeping all my herbs/helpers/mana levels where they needed to be at the time I was fighting villagers. The mana level and low sup % really hurt in the mid ranks and when I was fighting people with 9 ranks on me and low margin for error due to their dam output and I would just fail sup after sup after sup and suddenly be out of mana.

Sorry it didn't work out for you. Hopefully time frees up and you are able to give it another go sometime.
