I had a lot of fun fighting you with Thrawk. I knew I did not stand much of a chance being a Fire Giant Trib, but I learned a few tricks that helped me against lesser talented opponents.
You knew you had my number, but you didn't abuse it. You'd come into Galadon a criminal, but would sit in one spot, giving me the option to come to you. Of course I would, and if you killed me you left all my equipment and even my coins.
I know you got a lot of smack on the other Forums, but don't let it get under your skin. You're a good player and CF is a better place with people of your skill level in it. I never saw anything from this character that was ooc or being abusive.
Thrawk was my first Hero after like a 6/7 year break and fighting opponents like you made me glad I came back. Keep on keeping on.

He said he was not going to mention specific people that were spam killers and full looters and such things.
He never said anyone not on his death thread goodbyes were not worth mentioning or were trash. His was more of a comment that people who he might have had negative things to say about he did not put in. He did not say that by not being in the goodbyes there is anything necessarily negative about a character at all. Nobody could put a goodbye to every char in Thera on a thread. Especially not an 800 hour char.
The chancellor was a good character, you got to respect what the player did, especially if you knew some of his past characters. This guy had all the deadliness he is known for, and a huge jump up in the RP department.
I'm actually really looking forward to what he does next.

You were pretty damn scary when I was still mortal... in the sense that I never was scared to go up against you one vs one... but anytime I was raiding I must have typed "where" 1000 times to make sure you werent popping out of duo while I was hurt...
our fights were always pretty stale... you would spell me up... I would land some spores and you would run to get rid of them... and I am not blaming you.. lets face it, a transmuter is pretty much dead without mana.
and that one time you got me, coming out of the druid guild north of arkham... all I could think the whole time was "Why the #### didnt I have nofol on?"

and I also saw a huge rp difference with this char, for the better.
And you always treated me with class, and threw in that creepy, evil banter... so GLWYN
cant wait to see how much your next char improves even more

Edited to publicly claim my post. Not sure why I did it anon.
But seeing you telling him "Well done" for how he acted, really comes as no surprise to me whatsoever, since the two of you were cut from the same cloth, at least from the single interaction I had with either of you.
I made a brief foray back into CF a while back, as Chindechok. I'll be the first to admit, it wasn't anywhere NEAR my best effort, but considering how long it had been since I played, and also that I was playing a whole cabal/race/class combination pretty far outside of my comfort zone I think I did alright with it. I roleplayed, fought a lot, died a lot, killed maybe one time that I can remember, and complained damned little about it all.
You and he specifically were two of the people who really put me completely off my return. Flaaayin being the third, but to a far lesser degree. I've been waiting for this death for some time now, so I could explain to you exactly why.
People used to talk about what a bad ass Balta was. What was my one and only interaction with you ever? You flew down and attacked me while I was learning, when you had 8 levels on me, in a no recall area. You managed to kill someone who was already fighting, when you had 8 levels on them. Yay?
Mhar attacked me in the Underdark when I was fighting two drow patrollers and a cavefisher by myself, also with 8 levels on me. I'd never seen him before, had never interacted with him before, and he pops out of Duo and kills me, and loots some stuff he couldn't possibly have needed.
In Baltas defense, I had once helped the Spire retake the Scales when I was like level 20. Aside from that, I'd never had any interactions with the Outlanders. Also, at least Balta didn't talk a whole lot of smack, after essentially plucking some really REALLY low hanging fruit. Sure you plucked the fruit, but at least you didn't crow about it for 5 minutes afterwards, breaking your own arm patting yourself on the back like Mhar.
When you hear about the badassery of certain characters, it's really a let down to have them resort to what amounts to going "Oh look, here's a zero risk free kill on some guy who I don't know". Yeah you were able to kill me, but really what was the point?
Sometimes you need to weigh your own funstick against other peoples funsticks, and think 'Is this going to be something that will lessen the enjoyment of the game for the other player"? You were both playing characters with a pretty loose moral code, who could have decided to take a really cheap kill on someone who you really didn't know or have any beef with, or go look for someone more challenging to fight.
You both picked the low hanging fruit.

From a roleplay/PK perspective they were perfectly fine decisions, but just because something fit's into your roleplay doesn't mean it's going to be something the other person is going to find fun. I don't mind dying, I don't mind overly much being looted*, and I don't mind people taking an easy kill if they can find it. But that doesn't make it necessarily fun for the person on the receiving end, and sometimes people need to really consider that before they do things.
It would be perfectly valid to make a binder thief who didn't believe in killing, who would just run around jacking and binding people, dragging them around or having them summoned, and just standing around for hours re-jacking/binding people as necessary to keep them bound and immobile for hours on end. Does this sound like fun for the people on the receiving end?
I of course used an extreme example, but only to make my point more clearly. There are things that can happen in the game, that may be perfectly good examples of what your character is able to do, but ultimately you need to remember that the person on the other end is supposed to be having fun too.
I pointed out that things done by so-called 'badass' characters were really what I would consider beneath someone who is really a badass. Balta may have been the most spectacular thing ever, but I'd never know about it since the cheap kill (and once when he flew down to trep me out of range when I was exploring, then flew off) was my only interaction with him ever. Mhar likewise, except his roleplay put me off even further. If people don't voice how a characters actions make them feel about the game, how will they ever know?
Mhar racked up 422 kills, which is both impressive and telling at the same time. It shows that he is capable as a player, but that he also killed a LOT of people who because of their situation at the time (solo fighting 3 much higher level mobs in my case) stood zero chance against him. Really, someone that capable as a player shouldn't have to resort to taking easy kills, and the fact that he did it, and did it frequently, shows that he basically ran around taking any kill on any person who he could. He wasn't an AP with an axe to feed, so really the only driving force behind it was to rack up a big PK count. I don't really think of people who do this as good for the mud generally speaking. CF is supposed to be a PK mud with enforced RP. But when your RP is "I run around and kill anyone who I think I possibly can, then talk a whole ton of smack to them afterwards about how great I am" it really cheapens the RP aspect of CF. I mean, that's really just Beront being Beront in a dark elf suit.
Roleplay does, and SHOULD restrict your actions. But when your roleplay really boils down to "I'm a ####, who does what I want, when I want, I'll kill you for absolutely no reason if I possibly can, and then I love to talk a whole lot of #### after I land a super cheap kill" I fail to see how this is roleplay at all. Just because he talked like a drow with his #### talk doesn't make it any better really. Other than someone to hate, which really is already in abundance in CF, what does this sort of behavior bring to the game other than frustration for people?
*Looting someone just for the sake of looting them sucks. I don't miss the days of full sac being the norm at all. The game is enough of a time sink without having to deal with this sort of crap. Looting #### you can actually use or have a valid role reason for taking is really just better for everyone IMHO.

To quote you:
"I don't mind dying,..."
Then:
Commence three paragraph rant on how someone shouldn't be taking what you consider "cheap kills."
--------------------------
My highest pk kill record is something like 6 or 8. Just fyi.
You spoke of roleplay restricting your actions etc. Your point being Roleplay is paramount I assume? So, I ask, why wouldn't a dark-elf chancellor mage of great power not kill someone he happens by, just because he is fighting three mobs? That's silly.
Look at the entirety of this thread. I'm pretty sure the consensus is "Hey Mharl, you were a pk bad ass as usual, and your RP is improving greatly!"
Then there is the rare few that got their spoiled little cheerios pissed in and got killed in a manner they deem "cheap." I'll say again, it's Carrion Fields. You don't like dying to someone more powerful than you? Go play a non-pk mud. Then you can fight 3 mobs at once all day long without fear of someone better than you coming to kill you.

I didn't say people shouldn't take cheap kills. I said people who are/want to be considered badasses shouldn't resort to taking cheap kills. Try and keep up.
> >My highest pk kill record is something like 6 or 8. Just fyi. > >You spoke of roleplay restricting your actions etc. Your point >being Roleplay is paramount I assume? So, I ask, why wouldn't >a dark-elf chancellor mage of great power not kill someone he >happens by, just because he is fighting three mobs? That's >silly.
But why WOULD he kill someone who he gains absolutely nothing from killing? Roleplay restricts characters actions, but when your roleplay is essentially "I have no restrictions" who can tell if you are actually roleplaying? That's why RP is enforced.
>Look at the entirety of this thread. I'm pretty sure the >consensus is "Hey Mharl, you were a pk bad ass as usual, and >your RP is improving greatly!"
Improving greatly is not the same as "you RP great". A sip of water for a man dying of dehydration in the desert won't exactly save his life. It's all about degrees.
>Then there is the rare few that got their spoiled little >cheerios pissed in and got killed in a manner they deem >"cheap." I'll say again, it's Carrion Fields. You don't like >dying to someone more powerful than you? Go play a non-pk mud. >Then you can fight 3 mobs at once all day long without fear of >someone better than you coming to kill you.
It's not about the fact that I died, which you really seem to have an issue with grasping so I'll just give up on trying not to be a #### and make my point. Not one thread away, Banballow is being lambasted for NOT roleplaying, for doing essentially the same thing Mhar did, with a different character build and less ability and probably a lot more restraint. The character is being called to account for their actions, because they didn't fit within the bounds of their roleplay. When you make a character that essentially has no limits on what they do, how is anyone supposed to know if you are roleplaying or just being a ####? Because he talked like a drow afterwards? It sort of defeats the purpose of enforced RP when people make characters without any restrictions, who kill for absolutely no reason other than to kill. He probably had absolutely NOTHING to gain from the vast majority of these kills, other than another notch. How is this roleplaying? This is why we had exploding hearts, and then distention, because this sort of play was discouraged. Does it somehow make it better that he got to 51 before he turned into a mindless PKbot?

Banballow is a neutral druid outlander who went around murdering (apparently) senselessly.
Mharldarn is an evil psychotic bastard with supreme magical powers. Yes, he (maybe, I dunno) did it JUST for another notch on his wand. That's what evil psychotic bastards do.
It's not up to you to know if he is roleplaying or just being a ####. He is playing HIS role how HE envisions it. Does it step outside the bounds of the rules or spirit of the game? That's for the immortals to decide.
You speak of funsticks, yet want someone else to play how you think they should play. Sometimes, in such a brutal world as Carrion Fields, your funstick will be smashed by someone else's funstick. So sorry.

When someone makes a character who just runs around and kills anyone they can, for no reason whatsoever other than they can, that's REALLY not roleplaying. It's just being a ####.
How's this for funstick? Mharl does this once. 5 other people go "Hey, I don't really feel like roleplaying, just PKing, so I'll do the same thing. I'll kill anyone I can, anytime I want, and then just talk like a drow after! Won't this be awesomely fun"? Now we have 5 people running around doing this. It catches on, and pretty soon you have a POS situation with zero roleplay and everyone just running around pking randomly for no reason "saying" things like "I did your mom in the ass!". But hey, they're all drow, and psychotic, so it's all cool right?
Wrong.
Some roles are thinly veiled efforts to get around the RP requirements of the mud. This was one of those, in my opinion. I consider these types of "characters" to be very bad for the mud, because it gives someone the freedom to just be as much of an asshole to everyone around them as they want, with none of the restrictions typically associated with a role. Your opinion may differ, which is fine. I was giving MY opinion on the subject. See, that's why it's called MY opinion. Because it's mine, not yours.

That's pretty crappy.
Mharlndarn DID roleplay. Above and beyond what is typically expected of the player. Why should this not be acknowledged?
People have been playing solely for PK since the beginning of the mud. Yet here we are, NOT in a POS situation and NOT having zero roleplay.
In fact, we have just the opposite, we have a player who is historically known for little to no RP and ONLY PKing, making an attempt at changing that.
I never said you couldn't have your opinion. I just said my opinion is that you are whiney due to someone being better than you and getting acknowledged for it.

Just because he killed some people at a disadvantage (as a stealth character should, by the way), he didn't just go for easy pk's.
He went for some pretty tough ones in terms of danger, and he went for some pretty tough ones in terms of people who are hard to kill (the latter being me, with Bavorlian -- apart from the dude I mistook for a scion when he was a rager berserker). I didn't have scion powers but I did do stuff like use the enforcer against him to even the odds.

Joking Thanks for the Chancellor position. Thanks for immeractions. Thanks for edges and imm exp. And thanks for the great game. Mharlndarn started as the experiment - right after I found some Salvatore's books and Daevryn's post about "how transmuters are not overpowered".
Transmuters in general. What can I say...Scion transmuters are not overpowered. Not even close to scion invokers or scions conjurers. "C dispel" is the bane of transmuters. Your prep time is about 2-3 ticks. And its a big drawback. Some of you will say that I had the huge boost from the despoil - Yes, I did, but only once under the blue moon. Most of the time it was 300-450hp and combined with my gear strategy - its not that much.
Some of you will say that my spells just ignored the spellbane - never trust to logs on qhcf. You see only logs where somebody has died. But most of the time I couldn't land the single #### on the villager with the average eq. Some of you will say that I was conservative...God, my dear God, that’s the most stupid #### I have ever heard. I took much more risk then I should. You just did something wrong. Really. Its so easy to kill or make run the transmuter - dispel, drop his staff, drop his stats, run around in circles - etc.
Transmuters are like snipers. One shot, if you miss - you need to run. Not because of your low health but because you don't have enough mana to finish somebody or your spells are about to drop. Its not easy to pk with the transmuter once everyone know about you. But I guess I am near 500pk 30 losses again
About wands - Hell, I hated my sources. Really hate. I found my black at 160 hours. Big Ugh spot. My sienna was stupid as well. To prevent your question - No. I couldn't switch my sources. I didn't have enough edge points/imm exp for 300 or so hours. So it wasn't the solution. I had the choice - to pk and to be without the barrier another rl hour - or to run and grab my black source. Yep, 95% of the time - pk, #### the barrier.
My induction police: Adekar said it all on officials. Thanks Ady. Now abour RP. Peoples, what do you expect from the Drow, Chancellor Priest of Zurcon, sphere Truth? Really, just sum it up. Harsh, arrogant, cold-hearted bastard. You could be my pawn or the corpse. Simply. Sure I helped to my cabalmates and some other peoples. But every single time It was hard to do because of IC. If I tell to young applicant - 'You are not worth of my time' you shouldn't read it 'Go, #### yourself, I don't want to bother and rp with you' - but 'Go, and do something evil and scion like.' etc.
Now about bad things. I am in a good mood so I will skip all the bad things from players. Aka, "I am the leader and I went ooc on you","I am the leader and I broke every single cabal dogma just to annoy you.", or "I am the leader and broke game rules just because I didn't want to die to you", "I will fight you only under the inner. No? Coward." Full looters, spam killers and etc. I will skip such peoples in my farewells. They are not worth to mention. Now to specific goodbyes.
The Eye in the Darkness - Thank you for everything. Beront - Chancellor? Who would belive? Ah well, I hope it didn't dissapoint you too much.
Scarabeus - awesome imm. Even that one moment was the highlight. Thanks.
To Imms who gave me some exp and edges - Thank you.
Iunna - You edited my pfile again.
The Scion.
Tavlin - Excellent char. I was trying to be your mentor. It was funny to banter with you in the intelligent way. Good luck with the mummy.
Kharten - Damn, I missed you. Competent, deadly invoker. That time in the palace, I almost broke my monitor because of you! Damn you
---------------------------- To all others, We were raiding the empire against the bard. Kharten got deafen, and I was spamming neuro on the bard, got him to convulsing and he fled from the throne room. No, Kharten didn't left the palace after he got deafen, that goof was running around and spamming murder on paralyzed bard and got the kill. I hate you ----------------------------
Volker - I inducted the invoker named Volker. Poor me! Man, I hope you didn't take that incident too close. From my IC point, there is no way I could let you get away with that note. It was funny talk. And again, it was all IC. As you noticed - I didn't press to much with your task I dig your rp. Keep trucking.
Zheencala, Zanneel, Kubolza - I am sorry for that brooch It was nice to have you around.
Erzgarn - Damn you with your deletation. I enjoyed your rp.
Shiloh - Your uninduct was totally IC. It was a part of my Chancellorship.
Kyanden - I think now its time to reveal the true story about your uninduction. You were so loud on qhcf and I couldn’t answer. Now lets hear the truth. ----You can skip that part---- In the times of Shiloh, Kyanden was running around, hiring other peoples to kill Shiloh AND! Telling everyone about how cool that was, how smart that was. But the truth is - if you are evil – you shouldn't tell everyone your secrets and how evil you are. Then, after I got the Chancellor, Kyanden began to sabotage my work. I closed my eyes on it. Because he was competent and useful. But then he did the mistake. He hired Alyx to kill me. Alyx told me about that. And since it was typical Kyanden's behavior I asked him through cabal channel. He refused. It was like 'No. I didn't do it. I don't know what you are talking about'. I asked him again and gave him his last chance since I didn't want to uninduct him. The answer was 'No. I didn't and you are paranoid idiot'. Just to make it clear, refusing facts in such situation was the best way to dishonor the Drow. I didn't mind betraying. More, I was expecting and forcing such behavior within Scion. But when you reject facts in a such stupid way.. A) You think that your opponent is an idiot. B) You are an idiot. He didn't understand the situation. Make a search and you will find his post on qhcf. ------------------------------
Kharras/Volker - I did the mistake and inducted you. And I inducted you because you were the only one applicant and I decided to give you the chance. You talk too much without "do" things. So I quickly fixed my mistake.
The Village:
Eck - Very well done.
Duntro - Very well done. Man you were tough at middles but then I found my barrier and things become much more easy.
Flaaayin - God, we all hate 60 ticks neuro and 24 ticks blindness. All in all - classy char. You were so lucky that one time in the nexus. I prepped and typed 'vis' just to see you drop the link. Heh. Not to mention about your death in Hamsah. True highlight of the char.
Alyx - Excellent berserker. Nothing to add. Classy all around.
Sikkak - Excellent scout. Damn, you almost got me in the village that first time.
Hrothchuk - Good berserker. Tough foe.
Ohbehb - Even if I don't like the player behind the char I should name you. Excellent berserker. One who brings the battle to his foes and don't sit in the village all day long. Just try to whine less after your deaths. I am not talking about your death to me but about others.
Zrakkna, Erkad - wish I could see more details about you and the quest. Good villagers.
Barath - Man, like all other berserkers you had billion chances to kill me. But as all others, you decided to run to the village in 50% of hp instead to chase and bash me down.
The Fortress:
Jerohk - Classy acolyte all around. I enjoyed to have you as my little nemesis.
Gurzgred - Classy maran all around. Just energizer bunny. Man, you were tough. Illiasaria - Hahaha. It was some funny kill on you There is no way the smart bard should die to the transmuter, but you did! Tough and competent foe.
Auskunua - You! Little ganger! You permalagged me every time we fought. That was really dangerous but you didn't do everything 'right'. "C dispel", c neuro!!!! and I was dead - heh.
Thuorn - Your death was funny. I wonder, how many acolytes died from altruism
Sollin - If Auskunua is the little ganger - I name you as the Big ganger! Just don't take it offensive. That’s what I expect from healers. And competent healer in the fortress is just the arch-nemesis. Very well done.
Thwrerrorip - Little goof, you improved a lot at pk skill. Good job.
Feroul– Another goof ganger, you had guts for sure. Keep trucking.
Kezawk,Ceqiiul - Damn, I hate competent fortress conjurers. They're just the bane of transmuters. C dispel - dead Mharlndarn. Thanks to the brooch. And yes, I think that item is overpowered.
Kalcova - Well done. I hope you learnt a lot about pk.
Mirrou - mirror mirror on the wall. I suggest you to think again about marans behavior. What do they do? "Hunt evil". I mean, I never worried about you. I knew that you sit in the fortress and playing with yourself all the time. True herald of the Fortress. Take it as the solution to improve your char.
The Empire: Sivyh - There is the only one Chuck in Cf and its me! Mhahahaha! Damn, I was so surprised when you came to defend the palace at rank 44, escaped and reraided. And then, you started to avoid me. You are not the true Chuck.Do you know how its easy to kill the transmuter with emperor’s power? Poor you
Kyrilos - Well done. Con-loss as shadow, sect leader is something worth to mention. Man, you have 'hide' for some reason! Brave one. Oringus - Good foe. Respect.
Zaan - Well done with the master. Your death was the highlight as well
Drexazar - Well, you know, it’s the destiny of all fire giants.
Illisair – Just rank to hero and you will find that neuro doesn’t work on high int chars
North - That death was funny
The Tribunal:
Thrawk - Well done. A shame but non-village fire giants warriors are the meat for the scion transmuter.
Nexus:
Cezar - I enjoed your rp. Excellent char
Aertia - My little pawn It was good to have you around.
Allysia - Respect as the foe and ally. Keep trucking.
Tiria - Annoying foe. But that’s what I expect from the nexus druid. Last time, when I got you in the imperial lands - I got 200 ticks syphilis. Imms liked you too much
The Outlanders:
Poerlouge - Competent foe. Sadly, I didn't get you that one time underwater. Excellent escape
Rasst –Tough foe. And again, you had billion chances to put me down but you decided to stop the chase. Sometimes CC was bluffing like anyone else
Mzaffra – Mhahaha, fearless foe. But I got your number. You almost got me, that time, near Sitran. I was like ‘UGH, I AM DEAD’ – but then paralyze effect was gone
Onya – Do you ever exist? Come on, c quicksand, c dispel, call insect – dead chancellor. But you were always ‘c word’ on a sight. Zaoulu – Awesome char. I liked your rp and pk attitude – Very well done.
Zaoulo - Awesome char. I liked your rp and pk attitude – Very well done.
Orcs: Oogloop, Gutulk - Damn, my crime partners, nothing but thanks for all the fun.
Beront Aka Kostyan/Kjorh/Kzardr/Mharlndarn
PS: Sorry for killing you in PK mud.

Maybe you're right to a certain extent - I'm lazy and don't often look for fights. It's just boring and un-fun to run around for an hour, finally see an enemy, trance, quaff a stoneskin and see them gone. Bleh. Raids are so much better. But I'm still not as passive as you imply. You're overreacting.
And why'd I want to hunt YOU specifically? You had me at half hp before I could even land kotegaeshi! And the one time I landed it well, you immediately fled away. So why bother?
I liked you at first, now I just can't find any nice words for you. Especially since what you said about Rhone. It sometimes helps to think of your fellow players as people and not frags, you self-centered brute.

So... Neither of mine characters, past or present make it to the list makes me assume that I fall into that group. I interacted with Mharl across too many characters to count. Kourin had it rough, Drasdan less so. My first impressions were that the player came out a lot in the RP. Haughty, Confident, and rub-it-in your face RP. Then as it went on, I started chalking it up to Drow RP, and it became easier to handle your interractions. With all my characters, no easy way to dispel so Heck yeah, I'm going to fight at the Inner every chance I get.
Then you started posting on Rhone's graveyard, and it went back to first impressions seem the most likely, so I made an OOC decision with my current that I would not fight with you unless I had to defend or Retrieve. The Fun stick was just gone.
Now that it's out, you were one scary Mofo. No doubt a game changer when you were on, cause you'd be vis then not, then vis again. I'd never know when it was coming, I'd just know it was. Now as for the way you played the class. No complaints. I wish I played more conservitively sometimes, I'd die a whole lot less.

I certainly got the haughtiness, the cruelty, the attitude you were projecting. It made sense to me. An orc respects that. There was one time I was so close to bashing you into oblivion, but I held back, because I knew you'd catch up with me and kill me. Now that's a good orc/scion relationship!

Having played 'muters in the past I totally get it, and not only did I never think you were being 'cowardly' I thought you were pretty ballsy at least half the time.
as Truhukk you just owned me, it was sad I've never been frozen for that long with any character before, and you could do it every time. Bleh.
as Thwrerrorip well what can I say... Sometimes it's hard to tell if someone is just 'playing' evil or just an ass as a player. After that time my power went out and I eventually got back on and was NOT a ghost I was shocked and amazed. (I would never have noticed had it been me, with all the stuff flying on the screen)
As to the comment above: Well man, I've never played flails OR an acolyte before, I had to experiment. I gotta try things that fail repeatedly until I figure out why and when they are a bad idea. In general I have always sucked in pk so I totally don't mind the goof bit, since I most certainly AM a goof. Hehe IC - You were the one who came closest to 'hate' Thwrerrorip couldn't REALLY hate anyone, but you were the closest thing to it. from an RP standpoint, that's a kudos to you.
IMHO: Way better job than beront or kostyan I don't know the others. Have fun with the next: Apparently wishing you luck will only get my future characters killed more often so neener neener neener.

I missed probably the whole first half of this character's life, but what I saw? I really liked Mharlndarn.
Favorite bits that I remember:
(Mharlndarn kills Cawr and grabs his unholy, which has 60some charges worth of goodness) Cawr tells Mharlndarn 'So, is there anything you would want in exchange for the return of my weapon?' Mharlndarn tells Cawr 'Leave the Empire and be my toy.'
Mharlndarn kills someone, I don't remember who, and they're complaining about it, and he says something like: "You go to Inn. Maybe Heralds want to listen to you whine."

Thanks for the kind words. Most of the people thinks that CC=kostyan. And they are right but with the big exception. I rped Chancellor, it was dark-elf from the start and to the end. I was actually thinking what to say from his rp point of view. Seriosly, there is the difference between angry, out of control anger from kostyan on OOC forums and calm, cold hate from the Chancellor in CF.

Thanks for the kind words. And the funny thing about Faolai...I knew that I will not catch you with the pants down and the GEP (Great Evil Plan) was born. I took the item (sphere of 'blalblba') from the corpse of imperial high priest - specially for you (since I didn't have any good items in my inv at all ) I knew that you would try to steal it. And here the Chancellor, out of duo, in the night, running along the east road with the Shadow Lord in realms. It was the really small chance. But hey, how else can I catch you? And God damn, you were lucky

You were definatly a strong presence as chancellor and I respect that. However, as for wording away: The only times we ever fought were when you would pop outta nowhere and do the neuro neuro neuro thing. At that point without A/B/S up, the smart thing to do is retreat and return later hopefully to find you still there. Unfortunatly most of the times when I returned you had moved off. Honestly, I did have a great plan to kill Mharlndarn, but our playtimes never matched up so we only really ended up fighting like 4 times ever. However, a huge moment for Onya was when you and Kyanden came to the tree and Kyanden died, and you barely made it out. You are so lucky none of those dispels knocked off flight. *wink* Oh well. I liked the chancellor a lot, and I am glad I never really made an enemy of you. Bard vs. dark elf transmuter chancellor = not a fight I want any part of since I'd be dead by the time I maybe get one song to land. I didn't really have much respect for other scions IC, but the chancellor was certainly one that had mine.
And I almost gave you the eagle marked staff, but I figured you hardly needed it to keep killing people, and I lost it to Flaaayin soon after which I was hoping would give you an incentive to kill him.
Deadly char (though you never killed me, largely because I don't think you ever had a reason to or caught me accept once when I teleported out of velkyn at like 50 hp). I liked this one a lot more than Kjrorh. I found you did in fact have pretty outstanding RP. As you've said. Dark elf/scion/zurcon. Not sure why people would expect anything different than you were. I liked the harsh RP actually (it never once came off as OOC or douchey in my opinion), it fit perfectly for the char. Well done.
Now lets see a fort char with 500 PKS!

It was always frustrating to fight you because I felt that as another muter I should totally win at least sometimes, but you just trashed me every time. My dispels never worked and my neuros at the watcher never lasted long enough to make a bit of difference. You basically did whatever you wanted. I think you overestimate how easy it is. In that particular raid I couldn't lag you. I couldn't maledict or tigerclaw you. I was hitting you for lower-case damage. Once you got me slowed and softened you would have won a melee contest without casting a single spell. As it was, you were throwing out near-unspeak damage every two rounds and had a decent shot at lagging me out with neuro.
Even with kicks and kot/kan it's vastly less likely for me to kill you in a non-gang situation than it is for you to kill me. You can word from combat; I can only do trip lag. For you to hang around it would need to be a very close fight, and in a very close fight I give the advantage goes to the guy who can throw out unspeak disrupts. If the fight wasn't an ambush then you'd wand up, which takes my odds of killing you from "low" to "negligible". If it was an ambush then you'd probably withdraw temporarily to wand up.
If I had ever gotten a decent shot at assassinating you then I would have taken it. If I had ever gotten a decent shot at jumping into a fight you were already involved in then I would have taken it. If I had ever gotten the chance to attack you while you were already significantly wounded than I would have. None of that ever happened.

I think you can surmise most of what I have to say about Mharlndarn.
I liked you most at the beginning--murderous, unflappable, and willing to make hard choices. It was entertaining watching you talk to applicants that would come with a sense of entitlement, and while I did not see every interview you ran, I never felt you were being undeservedly cruel. I was not a huge fan of the trash talking, but I think you did a better job of keeping it in character than most of the responses you got.
The past few months though, you seemed to get tired of it, and the character seemed pretty stale to me. I can't fault you--I've never played a character for 800 hours. I'll just stick to my memories from the first 600 hours or so, and wish you luck with your next!

Thanks for the kind words about the first part of my chancellorship.
On another hand, I did the right choice. But lets keep our little secret.

I would disagree with you here. I did admit to disliking Shiloh and I Kyanden thought he was a fool because of how vocal he was about wanting to be Chancellor and wanting to appoint me as Advisor if he could be Chancellor. But I never paid anyone to kill Shiloh nor admit to such. I only advised I didn't care for the fool. I find it pretty sad that people must lie in a text game about their actions. You did what you did so be it. I moved on. You should to.

Dec 31, 2010|Lv 51|The Dragon Sea|vs 2: Flaaayin (1%), Hralpelk (98%, acidic bite)
That is the high point of those past two characters combined for me.
Gurz never did manage it, but do you recall how close that long fight was, with the climax in hamsah where you fled?

I deleted the wall of the text. But if you want to kill me, you need to do something special. Hralpek with all that gear just bursted incredible damage. Heh Well done.

I fought you a bunch with Eck and some with my current and I never saw a hint of cowardice. I'm not even really sure how that started.
Because you spent a lot of time in duo? So what. You'd pop out and kick ass. Hardly seems all that cowardly to use your class skills to such devestating effect.
Anyway, Mharl was pretty spooky. Like the monster at the foot of the stairs you're scared of as a kid. You're pretty sure it's safe, but just maybe there's something horrible lurking in the shadows.
Personally, I think this was an excellent Chancellor. Great job.

You were awesome! Just awesome! I don't know how many times you managed to find me resting somewhere badly hurt, and I escaped with less than 100hps.
The day I lost my weapon to you, I first was really really upset because I had DCed, but I'd like think that I got over it REAL quick and started RPing about it instead. The funny thing is that just the day before it happened, I had updated my role preparing to leave the Empire and possibly apply to the Scions. So this was the perfect trigger for Cawr to move on that angle.
Of course I expected you to have given the weapon to Zurcon, but for Cawr it was the only route to go, both to gain power and to get revenge. I had such elaborate plans on having you killed, but I suspect that you were on to me and I never got a chance to pull it off. It involved no-magic rooms etc. hehe
Anyways, all in all, awesome RP and awesome PKing. Took me a while to get enough charges and gear to stand toe to toe with you. When I lost that weapon I had -80vs paralyze and -100 vs spell, doesn't help me when you've DCed. Well, wasn't a DC if I recall correctly, just a really long lag-spike. Because I remember it all scrolling down the screen and I saw your name in the middle of the spam and typed teleport, but it was already too late. heh
Keep it up! You know, I'm back in the game now. (though only like 4 hours/week or so...)

Hehehe!
I will post the log. Its impossible to tell (or almost impossible) if you opp is frozen or DC. But I knew, that your goal was to bash me down, belive me or not, i can feel such things (Yes, chieftain, I knew about you as well But I was always ready for that.
Here is the trick. I don't need to put protective shield on to outdamage you in the permalag Just some damage reduction and other things, so I was ready

Big fan of your adventures on Dio's. When you can troll a bunch of vets by just posting logs you know you got something good. You were actually one of the few characters who earned that macho flaw.
You did actually teach me something I didn't know about Scion powers (and a tiny bit about my own) when we fought. Damn shame I won't get a rematch anytime soon. Not that you need it, but good luck with your next.

I've enjoyed reading the logs over the past few months. Making me wish I was playing. Your logs pretty much embarrassed whoever started the whole CC thing....haha
400+ kills. Wow, it would take me 5 or 6 chars to do that.
Good job. Hope is the worst of evils, for it prolongs the torment of man.

It took away any means of being competative against you and it made me start to lose interest in the character I had but that is not your fault. Anyone with an ounce of competativeness in them would not refuse an 'I win' items versus conjurers.
I liked Mharlndarn for the most part but was left disappointed twice when I was given a target to kill to get into the cabal and then never saw that character for about 2 weeks. Oh well, I can still try with the next one.

As a total random aside, and trying to keep this as vague as I can for area explore's sake: there's code that was supposed to destroy that item under some circumstances which didn't work, but now does. It was fixed a few months back and I don't know if I remembered to bug board post it or not.
So it's still an 'I win' up to a point but it's an 'I win' with a much more limited lifespan.

I don't think we ever got each other, and Olum didn't exist for the majority of this characters life, but based on pk stats alone* this is a damn impressive character. Suffice to say, while Olum didn't fear you much, most of the village was extremely wary when you were around, and even I took much extra care in how hurt I got when I knew you were lurking.
Olum
* With your playtimes (middle of the night as far as I can tell) how do you even *find* that many people to pk, let alone finish the kills. Color me green, I'm envious.

Thanks for all the fun fights and the poking fun at me. Sphere Envy fire giant, jealous of people smarter than him, so yeah Drex hated you. Even when I was fulled geared to fight you (Divine Saves sp/Para) the best I could do was to run away
Cheers mate.
