You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Do you have to go all the way in a certain path to become the Kingpin/Godfather/Enforcer/whatever? Or is it just the ranking in the guild that matters?

Thanks!

If you know a simple majority of that guild's skills, are of
Elite standing and get the most votes when an election is
called (elections last a week so people can get into them
if they want), you'd be the leader.

For example, in Dagdan nobody has made the effort to become
Elite within the guild. The first guy who knows some of the
skills, gets Elite, and calls for an election (obviously
notifying me in the note) will probably be a shoe-in a week
after I officially kick the vote off.

There have also been attempts to hijack leadership by out-
donating the guild leader and rallying the Elite, but they
have not been successful (failing more to a matter of timing
than desire).

Eventually I'd like the whole enchilada should be automated.

The Leader of each guild does not need to have all the skills of that guild. It is simply a matter of your membership in the guild, your dedication to the guild through donations, and the votes of your fellow Elites. Sometimes a combination of the latter two..sometimes not. Depending of course on the situation. If I am wrong Im sure my liege will correct me.

I have always looked at the position of leadership in the guild as a sort of Captain of that particular guild. Ideally, he should inspire his guildmates to better the guild through either looting and pillaging, or just generally bringing mucho wealth to the guild.

Being Kingpin you can initiate a LOT of RP regarding your status with the other guilds, cabals, organizations in general and get some of your brothers and sisters to follow suit. I would love to see the leaders of the thief guilds to initiate more capers and large scale 'plans' than they do currently.

For a long time as I saw a lot of people who just looked at the guild as a place to hide in...when it could be so, so, so much more.

It's just guild standing that matters. In the case of the Galadon guild, the Elites vote amongst themselves for Kingpin, but I'm not sure if this is the case for the smaller guilds, or even for Hamsah.

I seem to remember some post about the preference being the majority of your skills belonging to that guild that you're going for leader for... But I could be wrong.

Makes sense though, ya know?
