#7, "Question about aproching you"

Now it always perplexed me about how to go about approaching an imm of greed. I mean as sphere greed I don't want to really share my spoils with anyone, imms included. I wonder if its apropriate for a mortal to barter for you mark or some other gift from you as a way of aproaching you because my current role would not really fit in with, pray hey qaledus wanna talk and have some of my money in exchange. well just wondering.

The other guys are right, but I think I can sum it up with this
gem from one of famed writer-director John Hughes' lesser-known
efforts, Some Kind of Wonderful:
Carparker: To win big you gotta do what?
Carparkers: Lose.
Carparker: Lose big. What are we doing now?
All: We're losing big.

Why are greedy people the easiest to con huge sums of money out of? Greedy is very different than miserly. I can think of many reasons why a sphere greed character would willingly part with riches and spoils for Qaledus' attention.

...and say although it may not be in your role to share, is it within Qaledus's 'role' to 'give' you his attention/empowerment/tattoo without significant material considerations from you? I would say that the patron deity of thieves and skullduggery isn't going to 'give' you anything you don't pay for.
I view giving a portion of what I 'earn' as Restraal to Qaledus a bribe, or payment, or whatever you want to call it. In return he 'sells' me what I want...power, guidance, intrigue, whatever.
So in short, I would say it's entirely appropriate to bring Qaledus a gift or bribe of some kind. After all, if you read his helpfile, the kind of people that are attracted to him (and in turn he is attracted to) are the kind that acquire mass amounts of wealth/material possessions easily. You should be able to quickly replace whatever you are offering to him, should you fit that criterion. Finally, this should not really go against your character's role as a greedy bastard, because you should view your sacrifice of gear/gold as more than worth it in the long run--or you should just keep your stuff, if it's not.
