You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

Some of the special-purpose forums are listed below along with their replacements (as of writing):

Dear Valg,

Are you considering accepting mortal followers any time in the near future? It seems that often when I consider evil character concepts, I find that a follower of Valguarnera would be very appropriate to the role. Note that this may be due to a personality defect of mine

I understand that you are very busy with other aspects of CF administration, (laudible) but your religion fits a niche that I find otherwise absent from the CF landscape.

Especially with the Scarab cult dormant, I find my evil options somewhat stark and limited.

Here's hoping you will make a return to mortal interaction at some point.

I don't plan to reactivate my religion in the near future. I enjoyed having one, but I have too much on my plate and I'd just end up ignoring followers.

You'd probably get faster results praying to generic forces, NPCs, and such.

Your helpfile says that your followers are orderly and methodical in their ways.

This is probably a silly question, but does that mean you have to be orderly ethos to get marked? Granted they are scholars and planners, but also sometimes mad.

Back when I had a religion, being on the Orderly side of things made your life easier, but it was not essential. I needed to see something very compelling in a Chaotic follower, and I'm not sure that happened.
