You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

Some of the special-purpose forums are listed below along with their replacements (as of writing):

#277, "New command: Users"

Now that we almost have 24 hours of data, I figure I'll post this...

Syntax: users

This command will give a display of the number of users over the past 24 hours.

This may be more effort than you'll want to invest, but...

"Max users per hour" might be more descriptive, or maybe some sort of floating average.

By "max users per hour" I mean the highest number of users logged in at any one point during each 1-hour interval.

Or be nifty and give both max and min. To display, use some character other than asterisk for min. So a given column might look like:

60 | ***
55 | ***
50 | ***
45 | ***
40 | ###
35 | ###
30 | ###
25 | ###
20 | ###
15 | ###
10 | ###
5 | ###
---------
Time:15

That's how it works right now.

A possibility, we'll see.

On second thought, it might not be worth listing min values unless reboots were accounted for. Any hour in which there was a reboot/crash would have a min value of zero. So much for that idea.
