Way back in my college days, I was a member of a great college Sci-Fi and Fantasy Club known as Enigma at UCLA. It's a wonderful and diverse club where I met my husband and many friends. Not a cloistered group of archtypal shut-ins, but an expansive group of people with a variety of interests.
Enigma typically runs a UCLA-sponsored Science Fiction and Fantasy convention, and this year, it's a monster! And it's 100% FREE! On Saturday, May 28th.
Guess include names such as Harlan Ellison and J. Michael Straczynski, as well as many other authors, filmmakers, artists, game designers, and more.
If you are interested, check out http://www.enigmacon.org for more info and a complete guest list. Again, it is completely FREE to register and attend - there is an optional donation which goes to the Tsunami Relief Effort.
And feel free to bring Carrion Fields flyers to pass out or post up. (There are flyer kiosks all over campus and near the vicinity of EnigmaCon.)
I myself won't be able to make it as I will still be cloistering my newborn who will only be 4 weeks old at the time, but I will be there in spirit.
