You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

Some of the special-purpose forums are listed below along with their replacements (as of writing):

Saw this in a log. Shaman fighting 2h paladin. Paladin's helm of brilliance blinds shaman, then paladin immediately lands a hiltsmash face. Shaman flees and communes "cure blindness" and can see again. I would think that one of the following would happen instead:

1. He'd cure the blindness but would still be affected by the hiltsmash face, i.e. still be unable to see.

2. The hiltsmash face would have failed to land because the target was already blind (similar to how dirt kick doesn't land when you're kicking dirt at a blind person).

You can still wack a blind guy in the face. It does damage. It just doesn't have the special blindness effect.

I don't have a problem with the way this works.
