This works the same way as trying to give them coins directly now. Sample log, 3 person group, Rotwang has nogive on.
You get 11 silver coins from the corpse of an ugruk guard. You split 11 silver coins. Your share is 6 silver coins. You try to split some coins with Rotwang, but he declines. The gods give you 7 copper coins for your sacrifice of the corpse of an ugruk guard. You split 7 copper coins. Your share is 4 copper coins. You try to split some coins with Rotwang, but he declines.
Not to be an asshole, but shouldn't you try to split with Rotwang before splitting?

If I felt like rewriting large chunks of the split command and praying it all still worked exactly right, sure. This was relatively straightforward to do and test, however.
