#641, "Bribing angry mercs?"


          

I attempted to steal from a mercenary, failed, and was attacked. Later, I successfully bribed it; it accepted, started following me, immediately yelled 'Now you die!' and attacked. I don't want to talk about what happened next, although I'm told it was ridiculously entertaining, but I'd think if the mercenary's willing to take my copper, it wouldn't attack me right after, would it?

Some orc mobs will demoralise foes that attack them.

If a PC orc is demoralised my a mob that it was trying to enslave, it sticks the first time and fair enough.

Then after the enslave works for the same mob and the demoralise wears of the enslaved mob will demoralise again. (Some 4 months ago)

Now... enslave being all about intimidation, perhaps on the threat of death, would in my mind deter the enslaved orc from demoralising it's new master. But then again the slave may also try to subvert the master's moral. And if the threat of death does not resonate with the slave, then the PC can always come through with the threat.

In summary, the RP could go either way, just wanted to make sure it had been considered.
