You can lock the door to the Lord's treasure (an alcove) from the outside, but not from the inside. When you try to lock it from the inside you get the echo 'You lack the key'. If the door is not lockable from the inside, perhaps another echo is in place? And else, well, it's a bug .

Lots of doors are only lockable from one end.
