You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

Some of the special-purpose forums are listed below along with their replacements (as of writing):

discern gets you:

You carefully study Kackrik and discern their magical protection.

Kackrik is affected by spellbane.
Kackrik is affected by truesight.
Kackrik is affected by truesight.
Kackrik is affected by resistance.

Should be his rather than their. Also, it seems kind of strange that these are all considered magical protections, being battlerager powers.

Pronoun fixed. That's unfortunately common, and it drives me nuts also.

It is by design that it detects "Power" affects. The description is odd, but it's inconvenient to change unless you can think of a word for both.

Why have a word at all? Just say:

You carefully study Bob and discern his protections.

You'll cover everything that way, and they already know it doesn't tell them communes.

Well, it detects things that aren't really "protections", but I worked something out. FNCR.
