When you change shape and have control translucence up it looks like there are two separate checks: one for pass door and one for control translucence.

A: When you make both checks it looks like:

You concentrate a moment and return to your normal shape.
You maintain your phase as you shapeshift.
You maintain your phase as you shapeshift.

B: When you make the pass door check but fail the control translucence check it looks like:

You flicker and blur into the shape of a whatever.
You maintain your phase as you shapeshift.
You fail to maintain your phase.

C: When you fail the pass door check (which also removes control translucence) it looks like:

You concentrate a moment and return to your normal shape.
You fail to maintain your phase.
You no longer feel in control of your translucence.


It might make more sense if:

A: When you make both checks, the echo for control translucence wasn't identical to the one for pass door. Perhaps instead: "You maintain control of your translucence as you shapeshift."

2. When you make the pass door check but not the control translucence check, you get an echo like this: "You fail to maintain control of your translucence as you shapeshift."
