You did not say anything in the affirmative.
"Oi" is normally a greeting, not an affirmation.
Nothing in your subsequent statement included a yes/aye or equivalent.

Instead, since your statement lacked anything clear for Tahren, he noticed something specific about what you said.

Yer k*no*win ah ahm!

He heard you say no.

Once you have refused Tahren, you'll need to pursue entry to the Battleragers via an immortal.
