Probably that he found and enlaged a spring while blind. Or not seeing in the dark. Sorf of like how herbs was changed so that it can't be used while blind. He can't see the spring ("something") that he just found and enlarged.

It wasn't blindness... Find Water hasn't worked while blind for a long time. However, there were situations (usually a dark room) where you weren't blind, but couldn't see the spring you created. If that is now the case, Find Water will not work- you need to be able to see clearly to use it.
