When you give Alduk something with no give on but not enough money he doesnt return it:

With money:
You give some imperial rations to Alduk.
You give 40 copper coins to Alduk.
Alduk tells you 'Some imperial rations can be referred to as 'imperial rations'.'
Alduk tells you 'It is worth 30 copper, and is of the 1st level of power.'
Alduk tells you 'It is made of food and weighs 1 pounds 2 ounces.'
Alduk tells you 'You won't allow me to give it back to you, so I'll just drop it.'
Alduk drops some imperial rations.

Without money:
You give a pair of golden dragonscale leggings to Alduk.
Alduk tells you 'You don't have the 2040 copper to pay me.'
Alduk tries to give you a pair of golden dragonscale leggings, but you decline.
