Having taking this edge, there is no difference in my resilience % to either cold or fire in "score damage". The edge is functioning properly?

The good news: the edge is working correctly.

The complicated news: the edge reduces damage apart from contributing to overall damage reduction in the traditional sense. As I recall, that actually works out to your advantage if you are actively working on damage reduction so I'm tempted to just leave that alone.
