You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

Some of the special-purpose forums are listed below along with their replacements (as of writing):

Some time back the imperial ap posted that his acid control almost never progged in hell. The response was "not a bug but there are some factors that affect it" or similar. At the time I assumed he was having less success because he was shielded against acid or something like that.

However, I'm now pretty confident that acid control, and perhaps others, is not behaving as it used to. I've looked back at old logs where it progs almost every round. Normally I've killed ever mobs like the massive giant or the inners before it progs more than once.

Also lightning control rarely does the stun now, even on mobs. Has the been a change to make them all saveable against, like I've control? If not I can't explain why the only progs that seem to function like they used to are the damage progs.

Not saying it is a bug, or that it is wrong to be this way. Just saying that I think it has changed a lot from what you can see in logs of it. In case someone wants to look into it. But the controls are all pretty useless now except for exploiting a vuln or the damage progs.

Things do have factors that can change the rate.
