You wave your arm in a wide arc, sending projectiles of pure mana for the wooden soldier.
Your magic missile misses the wooden soldier.
The wooden soldier is in perfect health.

A miss? On a spell? The only spell I can think of that ever misses is pebble to boulder. I've played an awful lot of conjurers, and I don't think I've ever seen magic missile miss...ever.

You ended up dealing zero damage, which gets reported as a 'miss'.
