This could be the grape crack at work, but I've noticed lately when I get the "lucky" echo on a backstab that it actually does less damage than normal.

Was fighting a particular mob and regularly getting unspeak backstabs, then I hit a "lucky" one and it was only for an oblit. Same weapon, same damroll, etc.

I have brutal backstab and truearm backstab, if that matters.

I tracked down the "lucky" echo, and there's basically two lines of code there:

1) Send the lucky echo.
2) Increase the damage a little.

Backstab damage will be fairly variable, however.
