Normal db is devs-oblit using flaming weapon without ambush

Deathblow ambush is different than deathblow regular hit in that it doesn't multiply by nearly as much.

Doesn't appear to be multiplying it at all, if it is, it is a fraction of a %. Sometimes it even seems negative.
