So I sleep warrior X. Invoker Y walks up to him, yells out for the warrior to trust. And cancels the sleep spell, warrior X gets up and walks away. Is this kosher?

The Sleep spell is cancellable. It's magic holding you asleep, and the Cancellation ability removes magical spells. Unconsciousness brought on by something like a blow to the head isn't (or at least shouldn't be) cancellable.
