If porcupine is prepared against certain attacks and is unaffected by them, you don't get any quill attacks. This might be a bug because if they swing the weapon at you they should still come in contact with the quills even though you resist their attack.

For now this is by design, while also being on The List to fix eventually. The code change for this is pretty big and convoluted, and it hasn't been a high priority to fix.
