Ok the next round we keep fighting but I am supposed to be sleeping, also I am in champions stand so this shouldn't be affecting me should it? As a side note, shouldn't the echo be his staff strikes <you> and not <my name>?

Champion's stand doesn't prevent you from getting slept.

Or do you mean it doesn't prevent this method of sleep? No bard, necro, or thief ever knocked me out in champions stand, and it wasn't for lack of trying.
