Meldressen was mortally wounded in croc form whilst raiding the tree, and my vibrato song didn't hit him, but hit the invoker with him.

Meanwhile I was seeing his convulsing condition as I was in combat with him.

Many bard songs only work if your victim can hear you. People who are unconscious/sleeping are not affected.
