Not sure if it is a bug, but my aura of despair hasn't once gone off in combat. I've used the spell maybe 10 times now, for long fights.

Generally I'm the tank in my groups. Which says something about my groups.

It turns out aura of despair didn't work on mobs. It worked just fine on players, which explains why I never noticed it didn't work.
