You are viewing a read-only archive of the Carrion Fields discussion forums built from a snapshot of the forum database on 2026-08-25. The search page works, though it is not as sophisticated as the old forum search. This archive encompasses approximately 25 years of CF discussion. Today, that discussion continues on Discord (see the main website for a link).

Some of the special-purpose forums are listed below along with their replacements (as of writing):

#1003, "Identify..."

com 'iden' chainmail
You furrow your brow as you look through your possessions.
----------------------------------------
This object, a suit of mithril chainmail can be referred to as 'pile mithril chainmail suit'.
It is worth 5000 copper, and is of the 42nd level of power.
It is made of mithril and weighs 9 pounds 15 ounces.
It has been imbued with a blessing.
When worn, it protects you against piercing for 12,
bashing for 12, slashing for 12 and magic for 13 points each.
When worn, it affects your damage roll by 1 points, your hit roll by 3 points,
your hp by 15 points and your save vs spell by -2 points.

-----------------------

This is the output for a identify, i just wanted to know if it was intentional that the type of armor was left out.. I mean, if it was a robe, i would like to know if it was worn around or about body...
I know that i can examine the item to know where it goes, but i think that identify should reveal the same sort of information?!

Just my two cents..

I know that i can examine the item to know where it goes,

Yeah, you can.

Please only post BUGS on the BUG forum. In other words, things that are broken. In the future, I'm just deleting crossposting of this sort.
