> Here's the thing, don't change how you play or how long you play based on if I'm wataching or not. I know it's annoying, I know it's frustrating...but look at it this way, I watch people to make sure they're doing what they should when they don't know I'm around...and not just when I'm around. Were I to announce myself when I'm watching, that defeats the purpose of my anonymous watching.
I don't know if you care for this, but perhaps you could let someone know they were watched once you're done watching (at least for that time), and they know you are around, and see their efforts. Or, you could hint to them good/bad/routine in some way, and not only let them know, but they might be able to learn something too.
> Another frustrating thing about me, typically the only people who get prays answered shortly after they pray are either prayers for empowerment (I try to keep the wait time on that as low as possible), prays from tattoo'd followers, and 'oddball' prays.
Rohen was my first empoweree, and spent a good deal of time praying for empowerment, but at times you were vis, I got empowered, and got my neo-paladin things in the same way. I don't know if it was just poor luck, but it did enforce the idea that you just can't catch Imms unless they're vis.
> The route to Maran is a hard one, and there's a reason for it...my advice if you're trying for the cabal and not just the religion is:
write a role (not mandatory, but it helps)
play your role and learn as much as you can about Maran
Understand the Maran philosophy, it's a lot more than just killing evil.
play your role
write a note to either MARAN or Shokai Garenth and Leika
play your role
talk to Garenth and/or Leika
play your role
I know it's frustrating, and I know that this post doesn't help...but being a frustrating god to follow is one of the ways I keep the cabal small, and keep some of the fun in Maran.
One thing I never did figure out with Rohen was...you induct, but what's the process to getting to talk with you for induction? Getting a lucky chance to speak with you, or having approval from Garenth, Leika, or both before you'll give that? Rohen only bothered trying because it seemed expected, as a Shokai Paladin, so Rohen the character never focused on that too much. (That, and never couldn't figure out entirely what Garenth was saying, damned dwarvish accents *mutter*)
My primary reason for posting is to post what my experience was, all in all, it wasn't too horrible, just felt like I was way off on my own. (Trying to be honorable didn't really help though, I'll admit)
PS: Not sure if I'm on battlefield, but I would be interested what your opinion was of my character, if you still remember him. I'd like to know how I did.
