#78, "Four Leaders"

What is the pecking order among the four cabal leaders? Who is "higher" up, Prophet or Cardinal, Marshall or Captain? And among all four, who is number 1? Is it based on different things? Do players have to know this or just treat them all the same? Now that there are four of them together at the same time, I'm curious. Gracias.

Each leader has their own set of duties and things they're responsible for, however each of the four slots are equal. The Prophet and Cardinal have slightly more influence (I hesitate to say power) over the Acolytes (since looking at this from an IC way, they know the way of the Acolytes much better...wouldn't do to have a Maran mindset leading the Acolytes, now would it?) and the Captain and Marshall have more influence over the Maran side of the coin. As to who is the most powerful out of the four the answer is none of them. The way I've phrased it in game is that even though there are four bodies the council rules with one voice.

That help explain it?

I think there needs to be a top dog, so I suggest that the captain and marshall have a knock down drag out cage match, whoever pks the other is numero uno for the maran.

On the other side I think the cardinal and prophet should have a no holds barred all or nothing pray-a-thon. whoever can lead the most stirring revival meeting is head honcho for the acolytes.

how does that sound?

It sounds awful, imho. What reason is there to have a 'top dog'? I can think of only two reasons. One, if you have a dispute with the leader as a cabal member. But, with a group of leaders, just bring your dispute to all of them as one. Either they'll agree, or the leader you're having the trouble with will be told to back down.

The other reason for a 'top dog' as you put it, is induction matters. If one leader inducts someone the others don't think should be in the group, what happens? Not being one of them, I have no clue. There's the same thing with removing someone, what if the other leaders don't agree?

Other than all that, the four leaders as one seems to work quite nicely as far as I can see.
