Not even with a 'dormant'?! Does this mean you quit?

Boooo, whatever. It means I have to trade in my 'WWSD' bracelet. It's unique in that it had the answer on the inside.

You could take it off, show it to your friends and wait for one of them to ask why they'd want to impale everything. The answer, is no longer as inspiring without the spear-happy shokmeister.

<laughs>

God this seems like 100 years ago, but I still remember being in the old Knights with Shokai before the pfile purge, and leveling up for like the first 15, 20 levels or so with him after we all started over.

It's pretty amazing, looking back on it now, how many good memories I have from this game, even if I haven't actually had the time to play with any sort of focus in 4 or 5 years.

Do I miss it? Absolutely.

Will I ever make it back? Most likely not.

However, it's good to wander through once in a while, read about the changes, and realize this is still a somewhat vibrant, active place.

Someone made the comment that Shokai made the game for them. I would add a couple other names to the list, but in his particular case, whether he made the game or not, he definitely made it fun.

(And yeah, OldWolf was the name of my pre-purge toon, though I totally forget the name of the giant I rolled afterwards. I can still remember hanging with Shok, RipSaw and company in the old digs though.)

Ahh, another trip down amnesia lane.

Maybe the name OldWolf is appropriate lol.

Later

But you'll never know unless you give it a try.

Try a classic like a battlerager warrior, there's a new system for speedy induction. Kill a mage, visit the Noldarian Smith, and get basics like detect invis without even seeing the Commander!

See you in the fields.

Wow...definate blast from the past. Be interesting to see what types of discussion one could have were a 'nostalgia' board to open....though I don't know if it would be beneficial, or would just be a bunch of us old timers sitting around in virtual rocking chairs telling 'Ooooh I remember when...' stories.

But yeah, right after (and right before) the purge was definately one of the more intense times of CF for me...but I think it had less to do with what the game had to offer (I look at what CF has to offer now and honestly, it's a much more intense and balanced game, mechanically if nothing else) and more that I was still fresh, new, and full of golden idealistic passion for the game. That being said, those were good times though..../shok goes back to rocking away merrily at the old folks home.

I haven't officially quit...but I sorta have unofficially. I haven't been around, honestly, in close to 8months or so. I just don't have the time. I'm hoping that when I move (seriously thinking the end of this year) to Vegas (or somewhere of that ilk)...things will change, but if anyone remembers I said the same thing when I moved down here to Tampa....and we see how well that turned out.

I do miss the game, and I occasionally swing by to see what's going on here...but I haven't been a part of CF in a little while now. I've thought about posting an official goodbye, but deep down I'm not really ready to be gone...if that makes any sense. As I've read I've watched the game evolve into something very different yet interesting, so my interest is still there...but real life (at least after college) seems to always force itself first.

You have no idea how hard it is to get tattoo's removed.

I have I.M.P.A.L.E on a spear on my ass. It sounded like a good idea at the time, in retrospect I hope I never go to jail.

I've got three tat's myself...none as *ahem* daring as yours though And if you're going to have a named spear after Shokai, it's name should really be 'outlaw'. Yes there is a story behind that, and yes, that is actually the name of Shok's spear.

Far more fun that tatting followers. Warm up the spear, and lay the inscription on their buttocks.

Although, I guess branding people 'Outlaw' kinda might be taken the wrong way when they get arrested in Tir-talath for pissing in the moat.

Maybe just get yourself a big "S" and slam it on their chest. Then they can do the shirt-ripping thing before charging into combat. Da-da-daaa da-da-da-da-daaaa...

Hey, if you move to Vegas, can you leave contact info on the restaurant you're at? That would be awesome to show up at Shok's place, and Vegas is a lot closer to the West Coast than Tampa Bay.

roger that, as I figure out what I'm doing...I'll definately let anyone who wants to be in the loop stay in the loop. There's still a lot of CF folk I'd like to put a real face and real life personality to.

Shokai made cf for me, so you leaving would really hurt my interest. Even if you are barely around right now.

Oooh man! I come back six years later just to see Shokai "semi-quit"... Dammit! Well, there goes my goal of making a new Storm-Giant Paladin with the strength sphere...

Always shoot first and then call whatever you hit the target.

yeah...but I've always been semi-unpredictable in what I'm going to do. Who knows, time willing, I might be back in full force...I might not. I admit fully that even I have no idea what I'd do CF-wise were I to suddenly have time for it again....but I guess it's worth mentioning that I do read the boards regularly and in the back of my head there's always an idea or two for something to add to the game. To me that says I'm probably not completely done with CF...now if only real life will loosen the choke hold a bit. C'est la vie, non?
