Give our great lord a break, he is human and actually has
to pay his bills. Some of us have the luxuary of having others
pay our bills. By the way good luck on your new job boss!

I have interacted with Floofi with several chars, and always found him a cool imm to interact with, and very willing to if you are allready established as a char.

However, he was the one empowerment I attempted that left me utterly frusturated. In addition to this, I had the leader of Dawn's rec for the cabal, and Vyn (as a hero imm at the times) rec for the cabal. I had had hero paladins lead me in prayer at the shrine, etc. I prayed twice while shok was visable. Never even got a no, I dont empower healers from him.

But please temper all that with, what I said first. I have interacted with him with 2 chars relatively deeply, and one char in passing, and all of those interactions were really really cool.

Am I around enough to offset the weakness of the empowerment process? Uhm...could you ask this question with a little less vemon dripping from the pen? (Not that it bothers me, but really...this is one hell of a 'does your mother know you're still beating your wife' type question. In the future, try to ask questions with a little less spin on them, eh?)

Now onto the meat of your question. There are a lot of people who would tell you flat out that following Shok *IS* a total waste of time. There's several people I've been trying to catch up with to give out empowerment, virtues, etc, that I can't catch up with. Added to that on Monday I start a new job, a job with better pay..and potentially more hours. Now the way the schedule works out it may give me some reasonable time online...it might not. I try to be around at least for an hour everyday...sometimes I make it right on, sometimes I'm over, and sometimes (rarely) I'm not on at all.

So, I'll let you decide if I'm worth following or not.

..you making an anchored topic that explains your playing hours and frequency (this means your best estimate of them) other frequently asked stuff that gives some basic idea of who Shokai is IC. You could also keep it updated (whenever you feel an update is necessary) by editing the thread (in similar fashion than at Grurk-run forums).

This way, there would always be the one place where you hours are found (naturally, your best estimate of them), and you would have easier time in explaining your hours and other basic things to people.

As soon as an imm posts active hours or is visible RP is turned on. I don't 100% buy it, I'd like to think that people RP for the fun of it, and not to impress the imms, but on the flipside, the couple of times I've done things that didn't quite fit my role, you can bet the first command before proceeding was who imm.

You RP for yourself. The Imm being on can affect your RP, but only in the case you want to interact with the Imm or wise versa. If I do something that is against my role as it is, this something will likely lead to the fact that my role changes so that the act was allowed.

And the other point is that the Imm hours aren't that reliable (they aren't some working hours that oblige the Imm to be on, just the time of the day when he can be found), they simply tell when it is possible to find the Imm for empowerment and other important matters. "What are your hours" and "are you still active" seem to be questions that are asked somewhat regularly from Shokai, so an anchored FAQ-thread wouldn't be such a bad idea in my opinion. Of course, it is entirely up to Shokai how he wants to do it.

If the Imm is actually visible, he's probably not watching you at that moment anyways.

I was actually logging in to adjust my prior post to add that my message may have come across as being hostile when in fact it wasn't. So apologies.

As for the other matter, empowerment requires an imm to be present, it's a weakness. I was asking if you are sufficiently present to accomodate that part. (for example tattooes are a completely different ball game)

It's a matter of predicting when. Shokai cooks. I cook too, so I know you get off late at night. Hey, he's often on pretty late. I looked for him then and I've had a couple good empowered characters with him. Once lately I saw him vis really early in the day. Amaranthe, I followed her right after she restarted, and I looked for her when I approximated naptimes might be. I caught her all the time.

Just take that approach, and you'll have better luck

When i cook is approximately 6hours earlier than when shokai cooks.
Good idea, shame it's UScentric.
