Have about 12 more hours of work drilling into the house to put up metal shutters....
Then we are evacuating as soon as possible. The Hurricane and all. Seeing as how I live within two miles of the coast where it is projected to make landfall, I feel that is the smartest course of action.
Depending on how bad the hurricane hits the house, I may or may not be gone for an extended period of time.
I have a friend who works for FPL (Florida power and light) who sais that they have used up all of their extra wire, poles, insolation, transformers etc. during the cleanup from Charlie. That means, if the house is not destroyed, but we lose power, it may be for multiples of weeks.
In which case I might auto-delete...
But please know that it is not by choice.
Hope to be back around as soon as I can.

Got back home. Almost no wind damage, but unfortunately, because the builder skimped on fill before building the house, ours was the only one on the street that got flooded.
Just about all our furniture (minus the plastic patio furniture) is ruined, as well as all the rugs and floating-wood flooring.
We do have internet and power back (Nice to live right next to someone who is in management at the power company) And I was able to log Ed on for an hour or so today to attempt a retrieval and keep from auto-deletion.
However, because of all the damage and work I will be doing on the house and yard when I am not at work, it may be some time before I can go back to having much of a consistent login schedule.
Sorry this had to happen, but given what COULD have happened, boy is there a whole lot of feeling that we dodged the bullet around here. I'll log in when I can for as long as I can.....heh...we will see what happens with Ivan now.
